Well, as a squad member, yes. Never as a first teamer. But as Klopp said himself, squad players got less minutes last season to try and keep stability.
He was a champion at bayern, then pep arrived and he's went to stoke, and still being best player there, and now he's champion at Liverpool, what a beast 😇 probably underrated player
want him to stay so badly, i feel like he’s never even been given a proper chance with us. it’s always just off the bench and in the 10 minutes he gets to play he always plays well and then he never plays for a while.
i think klopp should start him more often, with him taking salah's current position, putting salah as a striker, firmino as a centre attacking midfielder. just my two cents though
Sad to see Shaqiri leaving Liverpool. A lot of charisma, a lot of talent. Maybe there is some back story of injuries that I don't know about, but otherwise can't imagine why he was not played more. He was so tough and ebullient and so much fun to watch----- happy to see him doing great for Lyon. They seem to appreciate him. As other posters mention below, it was frustrating to see him not playing week after week after week while at Liverpool, then brought in for some measly 10 or 15 minutes... Hope this is a happy, move for him.
Play him in the right wing and let him do his thing, running down the wing and cuts inside and bang that left foot.!! He can score.. don't sell him Kloppo. He enjoys playing for Liverpool even he's on the bench he always smile.. that's the type of players we wanna see ....
He is/was Liverpool's Granit Xhaka. Played with pride and heart and had good feet and a good brain. Arsenal almost lost Xhaka and it is a good thing they didn't. Shaqiri's departure was, I think, a loss for Liverpool. Both Xhaka and Shaqiri have shown their quality for Switzerland as well.
Looking at his goals, its crazy to me how he didn't attract any more attention then he did. He had so much potential! If he were French, he would have been spotted, but I think playing for Switzerland kind of has a bad effect for you career. Look at Sommer for example. Incredible for his whole career, and he wasn't really looked at until Neuer got injured. Xhaka is also extremely good, but he isn't talked about much. Swiss players have (imo) a general disadvantage. Just imagine Shaq's career if he was actually seen for his talent!
