Living Australia I must say something is definitely up with our wifi connections. I'm with TPG and for some reason my otofix OBD scanners won't connect to the wifi and some of our iphones have issues too.. but my Samsung and my old foxwell obd scanner connected fine. Don't know
Neat side hustle 👌. Super interesting. Looks like fun actually. Also watching the Zero to 60 channel. Have a '11 335is w/dct, exciting to see what you do to fund your addiction 😀
I have the Dolphin XP-005 which is probably the same basic machine as the XP-005L I would imagine. I purchased this machine the first part of January and was pleased with the machine until a few nights ago when I went to use it onsite and it would not power up. I assumed that I must have bumped the power button and the battery was just discharged. The battery will not take a charge. The machine will run on the power supply but I found a video on testing the battery and the battery shows no voltage. What concerns me is this machine seems to be relatively new on the market and there are several videos on the market about how to change the battery. It makes me think that my problem is not unique. What makes matters worse is nobody has this battery in stock and the cost is $200. The battery is very proprietary in that the battery has 2 input wires for the power supply, 2 wires that the switch for the machine connects to the battery, and 3 wires going to the machine itself. The machine will not run off of the power supply without the battery installed because the power switch on the machine goes into the battery. I was hoping that I would get feedback about any other people having an issue with the battery. Thanks
I had the same issues, sad news your battery pack is dead, only solution is buy new pack, mine was a spare i cut less than a 100 keys it died on my shy of 12months, reason? they say i plug in the adapter all the time. Its a dumb adapter which doesnt sync off signal so the battery will be constant charge and died, a fair bs excuses to sell their pack, but my new replacement seems to works longer past 12month. I only plug it in to charge when the batter drop to 2 bar. Its a design flawed on purpose for the xp005, the battery pack contain the battery and the controller circuit pack. So replacement is expensive for sure. The way it fail is by totally pause machine, u can run test speed at full rpm with adapter plug in , means it has enough power to run with just the power brick but when u about to cut the key , it will auto cycle power, u can do everything normal with the machine except cutting. This is done via firmware lock , PREVENT you from cutting without replacing the faulty battery pack. A douche design if u ask me, i complain to them but they wont remove it via firmware, i was told future models like the cheaper Panda and dolphin 2, has remove this lock limitation, my supplier tested its true.
Hi mate, I was thinking of buying one of these machines but just wanted to find out a little bit more about it. Your video is being very helpful just out of curiosity does the machine come preloaded with the codes or where would you get the codes for each vehicle?
Do you have to have some kind of subscription or pay for the files to cut with this machine? Also how do you program the keys, what device and software do you use? Please ad links to your videos. Thank you in advance!
Might I suggest having Laura do a couple of product reviews...might just bump up your subscriber numbers... But seriously, will stay subscribed because I enjoy the way you shoot these and your car stuff.
Haha, she would probably be keen, she wants to improve her confidence on camera and just be better at presenting things. Thanks for taking the time to come over and sub, really appreciate it.
you can not cut a aluminum keys with it as i found out the hard way the probe will not work on it has to be steel or brass 10 probes broken but works great now
Дружище, станок просто отличный. Зря жалуешься, что крышка задевает дисплей! Просто поставь его на подставку, которая за дисплеем и будет тебе счастье! Спасибо за обзор, очень понравился :)
I’ll buy you a coffee for a few sets of keys 😂 sent to Melbourne and whatever extra you want, went out with the girlfriend and a few mates ended up losing my key’s (for both my cars) and didn’t have second sets when getting them, just moved house’s and had to get them towed and still can’t get into my 2017 Holden Commodore motorsport edition vf series 2 and 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC-class GLC43 amg
Wow 👏 Really Good 👍 Review. I am a Locksmith at Los Angeles. By the way ...1. Where you bought it ? 2. How Much is it ? ... Because, I like to buy same like an your nachine....please Answer Me.
Hi, Nice review! Just wanted to ask, what is the functional difference between previous model of the machine apart of the screen and protective cover? I am looking to get one of them but trying to figure out the new machine has any advantage over the old one. Regards
Sorry for the delay, i havent logged in to this account for a few weeks. I think functionality wise, screen and protector is all. I believe there are hardware changes inside in regards to motor and the battery, but can not confirm. Either way, very happy with the machine at this point.
After that I’m using the dolphin 005 which is the same machine without the screen and the shield and I cut hundreds of keys with this machine I can say that it’s a great machine. The problem I was facing with this machine that is not cover some keys that other machine will cover easily. So I ended up having 2 machines to cover the other keys that this one missing.
@@avibenyair7861 ah I see so the dolphin mainly works on the high security laser cut keys where the sec e9 works on everything else basically? And when you say dimple cut keys do you mean like the ace circular keys or dimple as in mul T lock keys?
I want to get into key cutting and I’m looking at buying the Xhorse mini plus 2, question I want to know is if all car keys are lost then where do I find the key code to cut a new key? I have a golf for instance, how would I cut a new key if I lost my keys? Cheers 👍🏻
The internal battery died. But aside form that its still going well. Admitadly i dont do many keys compared to a locksmith. But its had a few updates and still cuts perfectly.
The one i have is a dolphin xp-005l to have never cut a key with it because it breaks the probe tracer all the time had it for a year no warranty for this machine i have done everything to try to fix it SO BUYER BEWARE ON THIS MACHINE REALLY NO SUPPORT OR WARRENTY PIECE OF JUNK
what do you mean "your horse account give you access to the machine" you need a registered verified account to actually use the machine? and if so do you need a locksmith license or are there any fee with making the account? Im trying to give into the business and would like to know.
No. Key programming is a challenge. From my experience, you either pay 10k plus for a machine that just does keys, or you spend months working it out the hard way.
Residential and commercial Locky here! Haven’t really seen this Brand befor I’ve always used Silca and keyline what Xhorse machine does standard inline keys and does it also decode and duplicate? Cheers
Hello, I got a new machine too, it failed to cut working keys, the left side cut less than the right side. I tried to calibrate the machine 3 times. Any idea why?
I paid a Florida outfit called Locksmith Keyless for one of these. They promised 24-hour shipping. They never had the machines. They refuse to refund me, telling me to "wait another week, wait another week" It's been almost 2 weeks now. Chargeback in progress. Steer clear of these crooks
I am in Vanuatu and would like to buy a machine and have it sent to me in Vanuatu. Do you have a contact of the supplier? I also am looking for a supplier of key blanks and chipped keys. I have an XTOOLD9 pro that I use to add keys to the vehicles here. Thanks: NOEL BEGLEY.
Hi Alan, i have never cut any of those, so can't comment with any useful experience. Sorry about that. I will say over the 40 or 50 keys this machine has done its been perfect. Very happy with accuracy. Still on the first cutting but too.
It is hard to tell from the video about the stop positions. Are the stop positions just a line or is there some sort of physical stop that you can feel?
There are a few lines on the clamp for reference, but the machine checks the position of the key before each cut, so it doesnt really matter where you put the key. Pretty clever really.
Just put it at a rough guide lines, the machine uses electric conductivity with metal( this case the key) to detect and calibrate the key, which is smart but also on and off breaks the probe head, so have a bunch of spare probe ready. They are fairly affordable. Key is clean the key properly, sand it, grind it abit before detecting etc.
@@Will_Fong I got around spending $200 US for a new battery by purchasing a 24 volt Kobalt drill from Lowes. I got a new cable and connected it to the charging pack for the drill. I can now place a battery on the charging pack, plug the connector into the XP-005 and use the 24 volt Kobalt battery to power up the XP-005. I have only had one issue with using the Kobalt battery and that was when the battery did not have a full charge. The cutter was not getting up to speed. I swapped the battery out with a freshly charged one and was good to go. I am still pissed with UHS Hardware because they still have not done anything toward resolving my warranty claim.
Have you figured out where to get the info for All Keys Lost on a BMW yet? I know on some other brands you can read the code off the ignition barrel, but I don't believe this is the case with BMWs.
I code keys for cars but just trying to get in cutting keys, my situation is I do mostly German cars so do this one do most German cars or if there is one that you can point me in the right direction to that do most german cars?
This is probabaly the best "value" unit you will find for german car key cutting. I wouldnt recomend it if you are planning to do 20-30 keys every day. I would go for something larger. But for one or two a day, its a brilliant unit.
Sorry for the delay, i havent logged in to this account for a few weeks. it does not program a key. I am just uploading a video on Mazda key programming with VVDI cheap key programmer.
Hi mate, good informative video, I have been looking at these machines (locksmith), have a question, have you cut regular general code series keys? Eg: house keys or roller door keys or filing cabinet etc??
You can do single-sided house (and other) keys, but you need to buy the additional clamps. I believe the M4 clamp is for the house keys. M3 clamp does Ford keys.
Definitely better, more expensive too. Old model has a design flawed , where the battery pack is combine with controller circuit, its expensive to replace and when battery only is faulty, if firmware locks u from cutting even with the power brick, a shit scam lock. New models doesnt have this lock limitation.
You'll need the M4 clamp to cut house keys and I don't think you can cut by code (I haven't figured it out anyway). The cut key looks a bit off, as it doesn't change depth between pin locations if both pins are of equal depth.
Perhaps you're not using the correct side (A/B) of clamp or incorrect clamp for type of key. The probe taps the clamp in a few locations to verify proper calibration, it then uses the grounding of the clamp to verify contact with key... if key isn't where it expects the key to be it will create an error.
It would be a good video if you would leave your face out and just concentrate on the machine and what you’re doing and have a better positive attitude
