I didn't know Xian played UmVC3 or was good, and I watched A LOT of Marvel in its hayday lol. That said, him being good doesn't surprise me cause it's Xian.

Mike Ross’ Thor was so impressive for being a lower tier character that I added him into my team comp. I really felt like Mike Ross fighting an uphill battle against all odds. I trained for hours on end with minimal breaks, surviving off deli meats, ritz crackers, and a dream. I did this for several months in preparation for Final Round 15 in Atlanta. I lost $5 in a money match and figured it was the other guys luck. I think his name was Noel something. Then I got 3-0’d in pools. I haven’t played Marvel since that fateful day. But seeing Mike go toe to toe with top tier picks without knowing how to OTG or launch made me realize that by learning the fundamentals as well as he has… I too could lose to top tier teams without it being so embarrassing. I too, could build the resilience and fortitude to take a relentless beating, look up at my opponent while bruised and bloodied and say “is that all you got? This isn’t even my final form”. Thanks Mike, for being the people’s champion. Xian has some skills for sure! I’d want to see more lower tier character picks just because I find them more entertaining.

Our beloved Miguel sometimes forget that Xian is an EVO champion. Of course he can play this.

My first in person FGC event was Bar Fights in LA when this game had just come out, I think that was like 2011-ish and I and I fell in love with this unforgiving ass game and the community ever since then. Mike, shoutout to you, that event and Marvel for bringing me into the FGC!

5 minutes in and I'm already starting to remember why I never played this game. Infinite combos followed by epilepsy inducing action was just not for me... Haha. And definitely not because I was terrible at the game and lost within seconds to the computer all the time.

I knew Xian played mvc3. He got 3rd at one of the first majors I went to behind Jwong and Chris G. He played a Mag team. We talked and smoked cigs outside after top 8, Xian is a really cool dude.

Please hold a quick how to beat each other's team training session (after a quick personal grind to remember otg combos) so you both illuminate every weakness your own team has, then ft5 again. Too entertaining, this game. This wasnt giving it and you guys enough credit. Honestly this could be said/done for revisiting every old game you guys played in the past. I might also be talking out my ass because the sf4 ft5 video was incredible without any preamble.

0:55 I gotta be real, I always assumed that Xian was not a serious UMvC3 Player. I associated him more with KoF13 than Marvel. Still, everyone played some Mahvel 3. The real mix-up is whether or not Xian played any NetherRealms games.

Mike was defo having fun but being a marvel3/ultimate fan myself I expected Bionic Marn Mike or Mike "Uncaged" Ross to spring out. Was close to seeing it in that last round but hey all good fun and Mahvel and wouldn't have it any other way.

Nothing gets my blood pressure and anxiety up like watching Mike play and make the most basic misplays and bad decisions....why do I punish myself?
