What’s funny is despite how they tried making Jack more the comic relief villain as the show went on but he was still more successful than any other main villain of the show. He’s the only villain to win more than 2 showdowns, he was instrumental in stopping both wuya and chase when they took over, and him stealing their wu was more of a long term victory than anything the other rogues did. Also, of course his world domination was more successful since he defeated both the monks and the other villains then enslaved the earth for over 80 years.
'Nother great point that was mentioned on TV Tropes. When Jack first met Hannibal, he resisted his temptation and didn't let him out. Hannibal is the guy who turned Chase Young, a disciplined Xiaolin Warrior, to the dark side. Yet Jack, who spent the last season simping for Chase, wasn't so easily manipulated by Hannibal!
Good point. It’s possible he didn’t give in since he was afraid but it could also be that Jack could be a genuine good guy if not for the wu’s temptation as opposed to chase
@@alexvaughan1013 Considering Jack spent most of the previous season consistently humiliated by Chase and Wuya, it makes sense that he'd be skeptical of the guy who's arguibly more evil then both of them combined
@@alexvaughan1013 that's cause at the time chase only had his training and a cheap temple to stay in. Jack has his army and his intelligence so he demanded more then some simple soup
I actually like that he’s so inherently evil and a genius his good side is the extreme opposite, righteous and empathetic. Also the fact that he won a lot showdowns with his head rather than Martial Arts.
Ah Jack Spicer is a absolutely gem of a character. He's a good mix of a comic relief villain, but he's still a smart villain who can pose a threat and actually outsmart the heroes.
And villains too, remember? He was an instrumental figure in stopping Wuya when she was on the rise of power by using his time machine (even though it required a lot of juice from the Eye of Dashi) to send Omi back to the past to ask Dashi for help, got Chase Young by surprised one time by successfully imprisoning in the Sphere of Yun and briefly taking control of his powers and his place, didn't let Hannibal Bean out of prison when they first met, and finally succeed in conquering the whole entire world in an alternate timeline where Omi was not around and successfully imprisoned the monks and villains that thought he was he all just a nuisance and a joke.
@@majormccoy2659 irony: whenever there's a competent villain like Wuya or Chase Young ruling the world, Jack Spicer does a better job at helping the four Xiaolin Chosen Ones saving the world instead of conquering it. Also, whenever he turns good or try to make an effort in it, Omi is the only one that tries to see the good in him, but also at the same time grows annoyed at his good side in the process.
Funny how the first scene basically implied that he took over Iceland and Fiji. Jack got around. And I gotta say Jack and Wuya are the best part of this show (specifically Ghost Wuya and Jack together). They just make a hilarious duo like Shego and Draken. And I got to say they have surprisingly good chemistry. Definitely better than Chase and Wuya. Funnily enough Wuya seems like a VERY lonely being. The way she was fair to Raimundo really made me feel like she is just VERY lonely and wants to have someone else to do evil with. She kinda feels like a desperate girlfriend that always tries to move on to a better partner, but gets dumped every time and comes back to her first one (Jack) and even when he gets angry at her eventually he welcomes her back. It's strange, but extremely funny. And kinda adorable.
I just hate how she was fair to Raimondo after helping her once, but jack who helped her get all the wu?! Nope, not even a thanks, so having jack be a big part of her fall after ruling the world was amazing 😂
To be fair, we know Jack eventually wins in the end. For 80 years, Jack Spider, Evil Boy Genius, has a longer reign of evil than that of someone like Palpatine aka Darth Sidious, let that sink in, a mechanic evil boy genius manages to have a longer sustained empire than the most evil and brilliant villain in Cinema History. He didn't get overshadowed, but he certainly got the short end of the stick more than he should have, although if he spent less time gloating and more time actually doing the challenges, he'd have easily won 9 out of 10 times.
Which is funny since Jack had not only created an army of robots but has canonically re-engineered some Shen Gong Wu like the Sands of Time and the Morbi Morpher. Imagine if he could re-engineer more Wu for permanent upgrades.
Say what you want about him, but the guy can build functioning robots and vehicles. For all his goofiness, he's still able to do things that many of us can't do, so...respect for that.
Do you know what’s depressing? The fact that they were thinking about making him a dragon. No seriously we could’ve gotten him as a member of the team as the dragon of metal.
How do you know this as a fact? I want Jack to be the dragon of metal but one that is on the Heylin side and Jermaine to be the Xiaolin dragon of lightning.
Wow, I never realized that In the early episodes Jack was actually a semi-competent villain. Still a goof up at times, but he had moments were he was a genuine threat. The later seasons really pushed him as the comic relief villain, but these early episodes really show what he could have been like as a big threat.
That's because he hadn't meet Omi. Omi always tried to bring the best out of jack, keeping him closer to good and not truly falling to the darkside. Then in the bad future episode without Omi to be his morality pet, he goes full evil and becomes the shows most dangerous villain.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Justin Cook do the english dub for Yusuke in Yu Yu Hakusho? One of the best anime dubs if not the best anime dub of all time? Look I like Jack Spicer, but Yusuke would send him to a mental institution in the first 5 sentences.
Honestly, after knowing what he accomplished in the future, he's probably the most terrifying villain in the show. He beaten Chase young ,wuya, Hannibal Bean and even defeated the shooting and kept them all prisoner for almost a hundred while torturing everyone of them. He may seem like a joke but after k owing what he did if Omi never went back to the past, it would still be happening.
Jack is intelligent, a skilled engineer and knows how to connect with other bad guys. But he shoots himself in the foot because he showboats when he should be getting shit done.
@@satanbrony9235 I feel like his silliness is his youth and he will become more competent when he's older. I also feel part of it is played up BC he's having fun but that's just my HC!
You know, I was expecting Wuya and Jack to be related. I mean Jack backpack looks a lot like Wuya and the goggles looks like Wuya's eyes. Not to mention the red hair.
We’re not sure if his parents are evil but from the information we got it seems his grandmother used to be a mob boss are something but we don’t have real evidence of this
@@jnstudios763 Jack parents often times neglecte him I wouldn’t be surprise he bought Wuya box random place thinking it’s a puzzle box and the only reason the puzzle box open is because of Jack’s evil intentions because the box only opens for who wants to open it the most according to master Dashi
I always wanted him to eventually start making his own wu. Maybe crummy knockoffs or stuff he copird from movies. Just something to stand up to the literal demigods everyone else is
I mean he made a Time Machine that worked almost as well as Dashi's Sands of Time. He has a helicopter backpack that works as well as the Wings of Tinabi. He can make robot clones of himself that are even better than the clones made by the Ring of the Nine Dragons. These may not be Wu, but...
And some of the Sen Gong Wu look kind of similar to Jack's robots. Maybe Dashi saw some of his work during his time traveling with the Sands of Time, and that inspired some of the Wu designs.
if Kimiko dresses up like Zutomayo girls, Pop Team Epic, or anime girl characters, Jack will face the thousand dangers, he would do what the original show acts in the story.
@@ericgarcia7592 I don’t know, he gets relegated to comic relief a lot, but throughout the series, Jack maintains the ability to be surprisingly competent.
Yeah in season 1, he was less whiny from there and was a decent enough villian. But while he still has a lot of funny moments here and there even in later seasons, it’s a shame he been treated like a joke later on, instead of being a intimidating villain. If that’s the case, he might as well could’ve had a redemption arc similar to Dr doof from Phineas and ferb. And let him be in the good side for the rest of the entire series. But I don’t think I wouldn’t go that far.. tbh.
You know, I feel like Jack could have been an actually intimidating villain. I mean he is supposed to be an evil genius. But he ended up being an idiot, and scardy cat, and a wimp. I honestly kinda feel like he got side lined when it came to the villains of the show, and he was just a joke. I like his character, I do. I just feel like they could have made him an actual villain instead of a joke. Or give him an actual redemption in the sense that it seems he isn't good at being evil, like disney did with doofensmirts in Phineas and Ferb .
Jack is already clever when it comes to robotics if he matures his mind and wasn’t basically forced to be comic relief he could become a serious threat. He was show to be able to build robots that can go toe to toe with some of the main cast he should have just mass produced those Plus if he just analyses the monks fighting styles and adapt the robots to it and mass produce it He would pretty much be unstoppable
in an alternate future visited by Omi and Dojo, Jack Spicer some how defeated and imprisoned Wuya, Hannibal Bean, and Chase Young, he then defeated the monks and became the Emperor of Darkness
mentally disabled villain transmitted by miseries and punishment by mistreating the others that are bigger and more powerful than him, the cycle couldn't end and change, the path of war, but good hero use their honor to stop him. Jack is like Neo Cortex, a coward scientist who uses dishonor as the short cut, without Omi(boy of strength) and Raimundo(kid of change) to stop him, he gets all Mystical Weapons to do his evil plan successfully and overcome the triple threats(Mr. Young, Mr. Bean, and Wuya).
I only watched this show because, of Jack Spicer. He works on every level, though I hated just how much of a whimp they made him after bringing in Chase.
I think it may be the shin-gon-wu that made him wussy. They guy had loads of confidence and know how, but with the magic items basicly making his goals easier he stopped trying to do things himself and relied on them and wu-ya instaed
If he weren't so incompetent and she jumped ship, i think she really would have let him rule the world like she promised, she kept her promise to Raimundo to give him everything he wanted.
