When Xiaomi finally does make the (not mistake) move of making software updates as long as the current Samsung commitment, that's when Samsung's likely going to have really serious competition on their hands.

I'm still rocking a MI 10 Ultra and after 2 years, still love it. Best phone I've every had and 120w charger is epic just charging it from flat in just over 30mins.

As predictedby many some years ago, brands are actually going crazy with the camera size 😂😭

Love your videos! One extra thing I'd like to see is a few more night shot and night video samples, as well as the slow motion capabilities. For night shots, I mean real night, like dark areas lit up by little more than stray or moonlight, instead of the typical scene with dark areas around plenty of bright areas of artificial light. With most phone cameras now, even those areas are bright enough to trigger the cameras to dial down their exposure, obscuring the artifacts and maximum capabilities of the hardware and software. I've been using these methods to evaluate Huawei vs Samsung and my older LG in near pitch black, astrophotography, and Northern Lights photography. Keep making awesome videos!

The design looks a lot more thought-out than the basic "glass rectangle with camera holes for cameras"! Glad to see even more competition in the Android space.

They always miss it in the details and think they will get away with it. But it's the reason they never really win. A 1080p front camera is a deal-breaker for a phone of this cost in 2022.

The design is cool, it makes it look like a proper camera. At times you can see the beautiful Leica colors shine through, but it’s very wonky. Hopefully that is fixable via software.

I just don’t understand what everyone loves so much about S22U Cameras, i have been a samsung user since a very long time but believe me I had recently a 9 Pro,iPhone 13 Pro Max and the S22 Ultra I always preferred OP 9Pro or 13PM’s pictures over S22 Ultra

i love how xiaomi has put in the effort to make a a phone that's literally as Ultra as it gets on the spec sheet, but it doesn't quite feel complete and consumer focused yet. don't get me wrong the phone is insane but as a casual smartphone user the S22 Ultra edges on the 12S Ultra, plus it has the S-pen too.

Love the way you give a balanced review by comparing at all the individual features!

I feel the Samsung wins though. The s-pen is tremendous. Remote control to the phone, it's not just used for writing. The ultra wide is better, the 3X and 10X, 960 FPS Super Slomo is much better than it was on previous Samsung phones. Front camera wins. Up to 1TB storage and 12GB RAM. Samsung pay, Samsung Password, Secure folder for a few more bonus points :P Samsung gallery has awesome editing features like Object eraser and shadow remover, both work really good. Anytime I tried other phones I immediately miss the fun of Samsung and all the cool features.

Great Video,i still have my Samsung S10+ with 500 gb storage,and iam still very satisfied.The Camera makes fantastic Photos,although i use the Pics almost always just for FB,Twitter or Insta,and when i go traveling to the Swiss Alps.And when i have to use it on my laptop to look they are still looking stunning.I dont know how far this Camera war will end.I dont see any sense to look the Pics on a big screen just to find out minor Diffrences.Iam waiting for the S23 Ultra and see what iam gonna do.

2:45 Not being able to set you own launcher? That's a huge no-go for me! I always set my personal launcher, that's the unique selling point of Android. Being able to modify everything to your own liking.

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is good, but I just think I’d prefer the S22 Ultra. It looks cleaner, it has an S-Pen, better display and potentially better support. Edit: Apparently there is a war in the replies. Proceed with caution…

I've been waiting on this phone for almost a year!!! Excellent video and appreciate the honesty as always. Even with the caveats, I'm still going with Xiaomi here. If the updates prove to be inconsistent in the future, I'll go with the rooting route 🙏🏿

Let's face it guys. This dude made so many videos on how a certain phone will be the end of Samsung, but Samsung is still, if not at the top, one of the top brands in mobile phone industry.

Finger print scanner can be customised like older model before this, touch to scan or press to scan. Your choice, because sometimes you just want to tap but accidentally unlock it.

The 12 ultra looks stunning, but it seems like xiaomi is still holding back from going all in, they always have had a quality disparity between the main lens and the uw/zoom, I own a 10 ultra and the camera setup in very similar, love the versatility it provides but the quality of uw makes it very hard to use in anything other than perfect lighting, probably same story here with the 12s ultra; miui is also another problem, it is fun and nice to use but there is just bugs that can happen and you won't be able to fix them, and if you use it as your daily driver these smaller problems really build up the frustration.

It's a shame Xiamoi and basically every other Chinese brand simply isn't avaliable where I live, the US. We're basically Apple or Samsung over here. I love my S22 Ultra nonetheless, but there's simply no competition and the Xiamoi looks great.

Can you please do a video on the iphone13pro fake 120hertz. I notice it every time I use my 13ProMax and it's very annoying when using an s22ultra right beside it. Golden reviewer so far is the only yt reviewer who acknowledged it so far and the comments of the video feel it too.

We are missing the usual Outro Arun! Bring it back, or bring it back in a better way! Now it seems cut off suddenly at the end. I enjoy every bit of your videos from start to end, and ending on a nice mrwhosetheboss logo and an upbeat tone is something missing in recent videos.

I love Xiaomi's backup and restore feature, I can just backup all my apps and their data (even non Playstore apps) and restore them on another phone. Combined with google's backup and Xiaomi cloud, this is the ultimate backup.

The still photo looks very very good especially the noise free night shots but I feel the video still has not improved especially when the jello effect caused by the stabilization still is visible

Samsung's zoomed picture of the ice cream looked very good imo. The video of Samsung was much, much smoother. The Xiaomi video had micro freezes

New Xiaomi's features look amazing, but I can't agree with you about the design xD I feel like the square design looked cleaner, more modern and prestigious (I admit I also loved the little screen idea). As someone in the comment section has already said, it's probably going to look dated quite fast as well... That being said I can totally imagine some people loving it though.

Even with a camera of this size, I still prefer the final quality of the Galaxy S22 ultra. Xiaomi still needs to improve a lot, many numbers to impress and the final results always leave something to be desired 😓

I had an older 2016 flagship from xiaomi and it was still beating phones I bought years later. Definitely recommend them

If Xiaomi keeps this great work with the cameras and improves at least the zoom lens, and Samsung keeps making the cameras rely too much on upscaling AI for the next 5 years, I will change to Xiaomi. Moving from the S20 to the S21 was a very huge disappointment, specially when using the Super Slow-mo and 64MP picture.

Same here - but I've just had to buy a phone because my 4 years old Galaxy S7 finally installed the spider app. So I'm thankful to this channel and one of the past video I've seen comparing iPhones with Androids and mainly Apple vs Samsung. The US RU-vidr pretty often preferred the iPhone in a category over the Samsung. But then near the end he admitted that in 2022 get still was using the S21 Ultra, because it was the better package, sometimes in tiny things like missing vibration calls on the S22U but never on the S21U. So now I'm happy I could buy a absolutely new looking S21U with 256 GB for way less then a new S21U, not even mentioning S22U. And I'm absolutely amazed. The 10x optical camera (240 mm equivalent) is like a telescope in my hands, it's the first smartphone which can see farer then my naked eyes. So I'm happy, there are companies creating and optimizing all these great devices, organizing the marketing that early adopters spent their money on these and a little bit later I can get the same tech for halve the price. And my wife, who is not so interested in all this tech stuff at all, gets an extremely decent phone, better then my flagship S7 years ago, for even way less money. She loves her A52 for being water proof (dropped it already into a water bucket), the vibrant OLED screen, making extremely nice images and especially the macro images it takes.

Love your videos, seems like a really cool phone, but I'm surprised you didn't mention the terrific zoom on the Samsung which I use so often. And that Xiaomi is very difficult to get your hands on in the US.

Based on my experience using both Xiaomi and Samsung...I would go with Samsung cause it is more reliable in the long run.

Apart from Xiaomi's MIUI they have been on fire lately. I am using MI11 Ultra and it's GOOOD specially after heavy use cause it can charge in around 35 mins. Take around 12-15 mins to 50% so I can plug it anywhere till a break and get enough battery. Only thing I was looking forward that video mode on rear screen that would have been fire for vlogging and stuff with 50MP main and UW camera.

Those image post processings are subjective automatic touches. If you don't like the color tones of Leica, you can take the RAW image and fine tune it to your taste. RAW image editing has become easier than ever these days.

You should do a more in depth photo review. Also, please add chapters to your videos

They could have added many more upgrades to the camera department: # Much improved front cam # IMX 766 for UWA w/ autofocus so that super-macro is possible. # Added an extra 2.5x aux cam (since they removed the rear display) # Increased the periscope cam zoom to 7x (along with better OIS for the periscope cam)

I used to own galaxy s 22 ultra for a year or so and over a week ago I bought used Chinese Xiaomi 12s ultra with EU rom installed and newest android 14. Xiaomi produces much better quality images from all sensors. The reason for this is that all of them are much larger. These two phone cameras shouldn't be even compared as they represent different levels. It is like comparing apsc with full frame cameras. I recently sold vivo x100 pro because although it is an excellent phone and on the phone screen the images looked breath-taking yet on a big 4k oled screen the low light images looked clean but artificial. With xiaomi 12s ultra low light images look better. The main camera of xiaomi s12 ultra with 1" large sensor is excellent and the low light images are more natural looking than those taken by vivo x100 pro. The only thing I miss is vivo's excellent bokeh in macro mode and vivo's market-leading autofocus. On the other hand, xiaomi has the widest and best ultra wide 128 degrees with larger sensor than vivo or samsung. Even the 5x xiaomi zoom upscaled to 10 x is much better than samsung's 10 x optical zoom again due to the much larger telephoto sensor. Don't get deceived by samsung s24 ultra megapixels. The sensor size is much more important.

I've honestly found Xiami's evolution over the past few years quite impressive. They're right up there challenging the other more famous brands. A few more improvements here and there and they would overtake them
