I will choose this over anything. Perfectly balanced mobile, best Power efficient chipset (870), beast like performance. Not too big or small display just perfect in all manner
Yeah, I would choose the Zenfone 8 if it had a snap 870 like the Xiaomi 12X, but as the 12X is the only with it, I'll wait for the price drop to buy one.
@@GabrielRocha-po9fz 2-3mos it will have a flash sale wait for it.. Xiaomi 12S is coming so it is to be expected, and come the 12T right after so much to look forward to
@@GabrielRocha-po9fz Hi, can you elaborate on why the snap 870 is a dealbreaker? Will it change the speed ever so drastically? or it is only important for games?
I'm really considering getting this phone. I want a phone that feels new and modern and with great cameras, but I really don't want an 8 Gen 1 or 888 processor because of the overheating issues. I've had phones that warmed up to really annoying levels in the past and I really don't want to experience that again. So, by looking at phones with snapdragon 870 processors, the Xiaomi 12X looks like one of the best value-for-money options with the most complete packages (performance, battery, and camera). I'm coming from a Huawei Mate 10 Pro and the dimensions of both phones are almost an exact copy, but with a bigger screen on the Xiaomi 12X, so it sounds like a great option for me :)
@@jacksonj4262 That's the funny thing. I know that nowadays the standards are 6.4-6.7 inch screens. But, for me, coming from a 6-inch screen phone for many years, it's still a bit hard to see 6 or 6.2 inches as "small screens".
Comment #2: If you wonder why this phone runs on Android 11 unlike the other Xiaomi 12 line models that run on Android 12, that is because Xiaomi utilizes Android builds on their phones based on the chipset. Since SD870 chipset is based on the SM8250 CPU base, just like SD865 and unlike SD888 or newer, this means they use the Android build on Xiaomi 12X, that is already developed for their phones with the same CPU base. This does mean that 12X's final version will be Android 13, since Xiaomi normally offers two version updates for one CPU base, though I have read that they can occasionally offer three. MIUI version can still of course update, but I'm not really familiar with their update history on this. So, it is understandable that this phone will most likely not get Android 14, since the work on software development wouldn't be as straightforward and streamlined otherwise, but it is unfortunate for those who highly value updates. I personally don't think too much of them these days and I have certainly learned to appreciate quality and stability of updates over just having more features, or more something, since sometimes updates actually just remove features.
@Tanay Pai Well, somewhat funny that Vivo outright has no custom ROM support in all of their phones, hell, even their older ones including the thin boi Nex 5
Samsung makes Exynos chipset. The snapdragon is snapdragon not a Samsung chip... T SD 8 Gen 1 is the upgrade from the 888 that was on last year's flagship Android phones
With the chip shortage and the fact that most people don't need that much power I'm surprised there aren't more brands using flagship chips from previous years.
I'm so glad this time, 12X is globally released. Unlike last year's 11X which was India only (which was a bummer) and was renamed as F3 for global. Thanks Xiaomi for listening.
Well, big bummer for me is that the 12X isn't released in the Philippines, unlike other countries that have all of the three phones, while my country only has the vanilla 12 and 12 Pro
Excellent review 👍. For a video that talks about all aspects of a smartphone gsmarena is the only RU-vid channel I can trust. The Xiaomi 12X seems like the better choice than the 12.
I've been looking for a replacement for my s10e but nothing really sparked my interest. All these new phones are gigantic and I just want a compact phone that has decent battery life (Zenfone 8...). This phone really looks promising! Gonna wait out some more reviews, but the only real negative here seems to be that it ships with android 11, and the no water resistance.
Now we can go to Android 12 and enter the threshold of digital series. It is reasonable to go to miui15 and Android 13. The battery life is OK in this size of mobile phone
@@MrCosmin94 agreed but if you look at xiaomi’s history, they are highly unlikely to do so. The hardware on MI11 is more than capable to receive the same software processing.
Yeah i honestly dont believe they will do that They did same thing to the poco f1 by gimping it's camera through software which the community found out about
Are you satisfied with the camera? I have a Samsung S20 FE Snapdragon, but miss the Xiaomi photo editor app that comes with Xiaomi's Gallery. But the pictures are amazing on the Samsung, 3x optical zoom etc. And so many other things, like water proof and reverse wireless charging. But I don't really use that. Optical zoom I use a lot though 😁
@@TheMisterBlueberry ok, thank you so much for your response. Might get it as a second phone. Sold my Mi 11 Lite 5G NE. However Android 12 was extremely laggy and buggy on it, not stable at all, it made me hate the phone. Also camera quality could be a lot better. Some people say it is great, but it really isn't. But I cannot find a better photo editing app than Xiaomi's. Tried to install it on other phones but didn't succeed 😅
@@TheMisterBlueberry i want to buy this phone but I'm concerned about the curved screen because it will likely break if you drop the phone and it's hard to find some good screen protectors for it . what do you think about that ? and are you facing any problems with the phone so far? thank you
Hello there :) I'm just wondering about new phone. Actually I have P30 Pro. But now it's time to say goodbye :) I've got three options for me: - S22+ - Xiamoni 12x - Vivo x60 pro Which one will be the best? Why one of the above? Not SD888 or SD 888Gen1, price (used phone market), size (for me max 158mm height) I think S22+ has a best camera but 12X has a best screen and compact size, and Vivo - I don't know what to think. What's yours opinion?
This phone looks really nice, but IMO the price is a tad bit too high and launching with Android 11 is a bit of a scam since they'll consider Android 12 one of the major upgrades. Total BS!
@@jvm-tv apple doesnt give the freedom you need on a phone, you need the jailbreak to download apk app's, thats a big no for me, xiaomi 12x is my next when the price drops a bit
I agree. Ive been looking for compact flagship phones so i bought a 2nd hand lg v30, its a little bit disappointing because of battery, scratches on screen and it automatically updated to android 9. For just 90 usd tho i cant really complain, its still nice considering its lightweight and 6-8 hrs sot is still nice considering its 2017 phone and its 2nd hand. Xiaomi 12x is 6.28. I hope they can release 6.2 or lower altho im considering this flagship beast. I might buy this if its priced lower than 400 bucks.
The phone looks really nice but it's really overpriced for 870 chipset and android 11 Is there going to be any software updates?! Xiaomi please stop looting people
I have poco x3pro with 860 and both cameras ultrawide and normal. With the added bonus of FM, 3.5mm jack, sd card slut and beefier battery. Display is better on the 12x and little bit better front screen victus vs gorilla 6. Costs like 30% of the cost for x12.
This a great phone. Manageable size too. Best bang for buck Android phone at the moment IMO. The only downer is the amount of bloatware that Xiaomi have preinstalled.
@@dimitarboyanov1619 Some you can uninstall, others things you can't. It's annoying because it appears in app drawers and in app options when sharing etc. I'd rather pay for the phone and not have this crap.
the big problem with this phone is the price. Given it is a sd870 phone, which is now a 2 year old chipset, it should have been more like 350-400$ tops, but it costs more like 500-550-600.
Can't believe I didn't realize photos were taken in the capital of my home country until I read some sign! I even recognize some buildings and places lol! Can't believe I was many photos in until realizing...
Would anyone help me with some advice? I'd like to get a new phone within the range of 550-700 euro and i can't for the life of me decide. Currently i'm looking at Xiaomi 12X, Google pixel 6, Samsung Galaxy S21/S21 FE. Thanks ! :)
It was between these two for me as well. I went with the 12x and Im getting it this week. In speaking with people, the phones are so similar it comes down to preference over the UI (One UI is better than MIUI) and battery (SD 870 is more stable and does not drain anywhere near as fast as the 888)
@@alexdebo727 how long does the battery last. I’m worried because it’s 4500. I prefer it to Samsung o course because 870 is the best chipset Samsung has ever made. But I’m worried about the battery. If it was 5000, I would buy it a million times. The phone is perfect
@@elijnr This is my first Xiaomi as well but the experience has been positive so far. The battery is phenomenal. I easily get 1.5 days on it with regular use, and the 67 watt charger fully charges the phone from 0 - 100% in about 45 mins.
Since Samsung sabotage Qualcomm snapdragon 8th gen 1, this could be best XiaoMi 12X phone, wait until Qualcomm make snapdragon 8th gen 1 plus with TSMC 4nm
@@herbertgunther8951 overally positive, the design is awesome, I hate bezels and this phone almost has none, I like the curved display, charging speed and battery performance is awesome, I use my phone a lot, but I don't play games at all, battery holds up one whole day easily, and the charging is so fast its just not a problem, you just plug it in have your lunch and your phone os charged up, I charge it for 30mins only since I unplug it at 85%, and the other thing I love about this phone is the fingerprint scanner, its so fast, I had s20fe 5g before this and many samsung phones from the past, so I have galaxy buds pro and watch 4 classic, and TBH none pf them work correctly with the phone, buds sound gets all messed up and watch wont copy the google account so its useless, in watchs case it seems it can be solved but I cant do it, and I have decided its a problem for the other day so its sitting around all useless right now, my biggest fear was the MIUI, my opinion about this is that the UI is absolutely beautiful visually, its a fresh breeze after kinda old one UI, but it has its stupid hiccups here and there, phone doesn't seem to be lagging at the moment, though maybe thats because of the impressive chip, but you'll find parts of the UI that don't make sense, for example there are features they have added but they have not added functionality tp it, like its just there in the setting but you cant even turn it on, as of they have added the option but later forgot to add the functionality, and it is worth noting that the SD870 is so impressive, my 3 previous phones were SD 8 series but this is something else, i dont mean the speed, maybe today even SD830 will run normal stuff easily as long as youre not gaming, the thing I love about it is this that it doesnt overheat, not even a little, not even when you're using it while charging 67w, and thats the thing I love most about the phone, I hate overheating, and I'll answer already, yes I have updated to android 12, it is nice, but man I miss one thing about samsung a lot, the keyboard, I have installed multiple keyboards but all of them suck, not on english but I use my keyboard with 4 languages and languages other than english absolutely suck, I have tried a couple of them but im back to Gboard, got the phone for 500$
@@prakashzgoku tnx, I live in Iran, I won't really sell it cuz I cant afford any better phone, but for sake of imagination I'll sell it for around 450$
If you receive phone with Android 11 then Android 12 will be fixed to be smooth af and they will release Android 13 which will have thousands of bugs and they will fix all those bugs never, all time will push fake changelogs and phone will be buggy like first day.. that's case on low and mid range phones. Flagship will compensate terrible optimisation with strong chipset but this will have impact on battery most probably
I'm in the same boat. But after watching many reviews today I think that 12 X is the better option. 11TPro has faster charging and a faster chip but no OIS for the camera and has a descent camera. The design is quite bulky. 12X is a bit smaller and weihgs less. So handling seems bee=tter. Charging is slower than 11T Pro but still very fast. The 12 X definitaely seems to have the better camera. Also think they said batterylife is better (not charging speed)
@@Edwinschuur Battery life on the 11T sucks, thanks to the SD 888. Yeah I think the 12X is the better deal. If anything else because the screen is supposed to be godlike, and that is something I pay attention to on a phone.
