There is no manual for the camera app so it is hard to know what everything does. This was very useful. Some questions: 1. Have you figured out the limitations depending on modes? For example, if Dolby Vision is on, I cannot switch lenses during a recording. If I shoot at certain resolution/frame rate then HDR may become unavailable. A table/matrix would be nice 2. What is the difference between HDR in white and red? 3. What is source tracking? You mention it but dont explain 4. What is "Dynamic Shots" in photo mode 5. I notice the camera app drains the battery very fast even when just on view finder. Around 3-4X faster. Do you know of any way to improve this? Perhaps turning off certain features?
Good video. I just got the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. I have always had the Samsung Galaxy Notes. But I fell in love with this camera phone. I have saved your video to acquaint myself with it. Thank you.
Yes, I had some condensation in the beginning, but it disappeared. However I know a lot of buyers that had serious condensation issues and were not able to fix it.
It varied for different users. I've been in touch with users on a large forum and some reporters who attempted to address the issue by recording 8K for an extended period with the SIM card tray removed. Initially, condensation appeared to dissipate, but it returned later. However, the situation still seems somewhat unpredictable.
I have Xiaomi 14 "only" but these phones are amazing camerawise... jawdroping what they can do while they are just phones... I'm very pleased with my choice. Thx for the video! Very good and detailed.
Great video. Is there a way to create your own filters? On the Samsung s24 ultra you. An upload a pic to create a filter and wondering if there is the same on xiaomi 14 ultra? Thanks
s there a way to set the autofocus, for me that's the absolute shortcoming of this otherwise great camera at the moment, but I haven't found a really reproducible behavior of the autofocus yet.
Brilliant video. Thank you so much!!! Quick question can one take RAW 50MP photos in Pro Mode and telephoto lens? It seems it only allows 50MP in jpeg when using the telephoto or ultrawide?
Thank you for your video, exactly what I needed to get a feel for capturing photos/videos. Happy to see it does have focus peaking which was my greatest desire
i was interested on the Pro Mode. it interesting that can also shoot in LOG. and the ability to set your own style on the camera itself is a game changer.
It is! I still have to do some testing in the Log mode to see how good it is, but in general I am a big fan of Log shooting and use it constantly on my system cameras.
Thank you for the video, very helpful, but often we dont know where you click to select some features or mode. It would be good if the arrow is enlarge and clear, so we can see where it click or select. In the mobile, we cant select manual, or aperture or speed priority mode etc, unlike a camera. You can only set it individually, and only on wide lens. Correct.
Unfortunately, Xiaomi does not provide an official correction LUT to convert from Log to Rec709. They have some LUTs in the editing app, but not for other editing software.
Hello, sir. I really like mobile photography, but mobile cameras don't provide as much depth as needed to make a photo beautiful. My request is that you make a video about taking human portraits at 3x zoom with a 1.63 variable, so that depth can be understood. Please, sir, just make one video on this topic.
@@JMTMarc How about the 480 fps? Could you post slowmo samples at all frame rates in 1080P? It would be a big help. I haven't really seen any slowmo samples yet.
Thanks, the best in-depth I have seen so far. 😍 I do, however, have a question: can you adjust and even remove all the artificial sharpening? Especially for video? Or do you know, if the phone even sharpens the image when recording LOG video? Cause if it does not, this might be my new phone. I just hat all of this over-sharpening that phones do... (need a good B-Cam besides my Mirrorless Camera).
I'm afraid that's not possible. You can't adjust the amount of post-processing. Even in log mode, the phone just applies a different color curve, which doesn't really relate to processing adjustments or the codec.
Hii. I am owning Xiaomi 14 and it's shifting to telephoto lense in 2.6x zoom. Even, it's the same case for 14 ultra. In the video, 2:20, when you were scrolling the zoom wheel, I can see, in 2.6x, the telephoto lense is shifting. Don't know, why Xiaomi is marketing this as, 75mm lense.
Movie Mode to me seems to be recording not really smooth, especially when moving the Phone. The Auto-Zoom shown in your video also looks a bit unsmooth. Is that normal?
the best video review I have ever seen on youtube. I did research and nobody does similar video review like you do. please can you deep dive more in Leica photo/video filters and LUTs? key part of the camera is Leica colors, so another video for filters/luts would be great. thanks
Couldn't wait to get the camera kit, problem is it doesn't work properly, you cant use EV compensation when in pro mode, if you set it to say,, shutter speed or ISO instead, that doesn't work in normal mode, set the zoom lever up, it doesn't work in pro mode, and you cant re-allocate to another function other than zoom which doesn't work in pro mode, surely most of the folk willing to fork out for the camera kit are photographers, professional or armature looing for that familiar feel and control, so why set the dam thing up this way it makes it almost useless, /gutted
EV compensation is functional in Pro mode, along with every other setting adjustable via the dial. Naturally, it is not available in normal mode, as this mode does not support adjustments to ISO, shutter speed, etc. Unfortunately, the zoom lever is currently inoperative, but this issue could be easily resolved with a firmware update. Hopefully, Xiaomi will address this soon.
@@JMTMarc EV mode will not work on mine in Pro, no matter how i configure it, do it in pro mode, no effect, do it in normal mode, works fine, but then wont work in pro mode
@@JMTMarc not only that, but every time i disconnect an re-connect the battery grip to get to the grip options , it changes the camera back to "photo mode" changing those settings instead
Thank you for subscribing! When you mention "showing it in action," are you referring to a demonstration of how to capture photographs using the phone, presented in a vlog-style format?
This is absolutely splendid - thank you so much. Can I ask where you got all the information from? I can't find any good resource - until now - and become frustrated spending hours searching.
Thanks for this. I also noted the burst drive mode which I don't see documented anywhere. This is enabled by dragging shutter button right. Unfortunately, I can't see how to activate it in pro mode so its not so useful without being able to adjust the shutter speed to capture fast movement.
Oh, that's an interesting point. It's quite strange that despite offering a timed burst mode, the Pro mode doesn't allow for burst shooting. That seems like an oversight.
@@JMTMarc Indeed. I've seen it work very well on the Sony Xperia phones for example but with the Xiaomi, my attempts at burst mode with my fast moving dog were too blurry to be used and adjusting to a fast shutter speed is only available in pro mode. Frustrating...
Great video. Love the style. Question for you, is it worth upgrading to the 14 ultra if I have the 14 pro? Are the cameras that much of a difference between the two? The 14 pro has a 1.4 f stop vs the ultra 1.6. Is the 1inch sensor that big of a deal? Thanks
Depends. If u r really into photography and if u take a lot of pics I think its worth it to upgrade to the Ultra. Most of the other specs are the same.If not just keep the Pro
I'm afraid I'm not able to provide a good answer to your question, because I have no experience with the 14 Pro, as it's not available globally. I'm sorry.
Hi! TOlles video!
@@JMTMarc It autozooms 4x-6x the preview screen while you are adjusting with manual focus. Super helpful for text etc. I don't get it why this function is available on 3rd party apps only.
Thank you! Great question! I forgot to mention this. Log recording is only available with the main sensor (wide lens). When you use one of the other lenses and enable log, it will switch back to the main lens.
Please don't mind if i ask one more question.Ummm... What's with the long exposure mode... Does it locks to main sensor only or available to all lenses?
