@@nielsjunker1487 Battery life is decent, but not amazing. I can make it till the end of the day, but nothing more then that, and if I use it a lot for photography it won't make it till the end of the day

@@nielsjunker1487 it's good but not great . If I'm only on WiFi it lasts quite a long time , all day , but if i use data and 4 or 5g , then 8 won't last a day . Probably 6 or 7 hours screen on time .

Xiaomi 14 tends to overexpose things when there's a bright light source which can be solved by lowering the exposure. Overall it's a nice all rounder device

What do you think of the size of the Xiaomi 13 Pro? Because that is an excellent phone for photography! If you want the smaller one then I would advice the 14 :)

@@Speerrow03 Oh I by a decent amount prefer the 13 Pro over the 14, and that is mainly because sharpening that is more on the 14, allowing a more natural feel on the 13 pro :) I have some vids on the 13 Pro including after a year ^^ And for the Xiaomi 13 Pro, kinda wish I still had it, but with my channel size and not recieving the 14 Ultra I had to trade it in to get the 14 Ultra

New Subscriber! Can I ask if you buy phones that is only exclusively released on china or like that is not globally release? Phones like Realme GT Neo 5 (GT3 on Global) or other brands like Iqoo? Deym, you are the only RU-vidr I found that do some literal camera testing on a phone, other just do shot and go, not its full capabilities.

I am not 100% sure, but do you mean if you can fully use the phone? Like 5G and so on? best way to know that is to know what phone you are getting and then what bands it's support and then what your country or provider has as bands. and I think in some cases google car play might not work

No, I only have had phones that are global versions in terms of software. And sometimes I get phones send over, for instance the Xiaomi 14 was send over, but it is the global version. The 14 Ultra I purchased myself. I was thinking about getting the X100 pro, but my channel isn't big enough to justify those prices that keep going out hahaha.

How comfortable is the ultra to hold? Considering you might have to hold it a lot… And what about when you use the photography kit? I would very much appreciate your opinion 🎉

I think the photography kit is nice! That being said it is a bit more bulky if you have that ND filter ring on there, but of course it does give that option for an NDA filter, and taking pictures are nicer :)

Does anyone have problems with camera fogging (going from warm to cold or vice versa)? I'm also interested in the battery life (if someone uses 2 SIM cards, a little playing games, a little photography, using it for surfing the Internet and social networks / applications, while the mobile Internet is turned on non-stop)?

I haven't had any experience with it. Battery life isn't very good on either the 14 nor the 14 Ultra. It is average.

@@ThroughJermainesLens How long does the battery last for you with what usage (do you have your mobile phone turned on non-stop, do you play games...)? For some, it is average that it lasts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., for some it is a little.

Own a 14.. Manufactured in October 2023. Had to reset camera settings to default... and everything was all good It's never showed up again... It was a hot topic on Reddit... Those with 2024 manufacturing date had hard luck around the default settings trick...

People not shooting raw absolutely can't tell difference between photos from this phone and a 4 year old phone. It's the same old high radius, oversharpened shit. These reviews should include RAW photos to give a complete picture and also consider the possibility of actual photographers watching this review.

the 14ultra lacks dynamic range .. its way too contrasty and thats not what your eyes sees.

if you like brighter images there is this thing called "brightness" in the built in editing, you can go with the 14 ultra and do just that with better detail in your images than the 14

@@samern7 ok, then do NOT go for iPhone, i mean they are decent, but understanding photography is low on their phones. Do you normally shoot with a proper camera? And are you think about the 14 because of the compact size?

I am asking because I think over the 14 I would pick the Xiaomi 13 Pro, it is less sharp, so feels more natural, and here in the Netherlands you have some good second hand options as well via Marktplaats and so on, so maybe some nice options where you are from with that 13 Pro. But of course that is a bit bigger phone.

You are right, I prefer a compact phone because actually I have a Honor 70 and to me I feel a very big phone... The battery is good, but the camera is pretty bad... Actually I have a Olympus OMD-10 Mark II and I am familiarized with the terms of photography. I always think that iPhone have the better quality, specially for social media, but this Xiaomi 14 and Leica lens catch my attention... And I never have iPhone before!

It was interesting; I didn't expect 14 with such a nice performance👍, although the 14 ultra is in a different level, It seems 14 ultra is much better than my phone 11 ultra in many aspects by far, for example on night mode 11 ultra not as detailed as 14 ultra, or in videography, 11 ultra is too shaky even when steady pro is on but in this video 14 ultra filming smoothly on 4 lenses, I'm waiting impatiently for that comparison to see how they play side by side 😍

Mi11 Ultra you mean 14 right? or^^? for the 14 it is a solid one that also needs updates (sharpening mostly and exposure in some cases) And yes the 11 ultra will come ^^ hopefully thursday I can go to the location I need to be at for it.

mmmm doubt it? it's not a very bright colour, but it depends on what you shoot with, it is decently promunent but not very bright in the colour.

@@jzhzjzndnxsb4070 difference in camera quality probably not, same software and hardware, but the chinese version might have issues with google auto, and also make sure you check the bands the phone supports and your provider to see if you can use it

@@ThroughJermainesLens I'm amazed by that. Whatever, it's always gonna be way better to use a dedicated Camera. These Smartphones that include these improvements are extremely expensive, and only good by Smartphone standards.

@@spirittravels. The problem with smartphones is that even more so these days it can lead to overprocessing, they lean more to using that then to relay on the hardware. This can destroy an image and the feel of it. A dedicated camera has that far less.

Great video. I rank the 14 Ultra as 3. and 14 normal as 6. The 14 Ultra is slightly better in terms of video recording thanks to the better stabilisation larger main camera sensor that gives more bokeh and especially at night works a bit better. Front Camera is better on the 14 however. I think the 14 Ultra needs some software updates there. Interesting are portraits because apart from the better software controls on the 14 Ultra where I prefer the direct lense selection without going into a submenu the 14 now (at least on the chinese variant I have) got the update including master and leica modes.

Thank you :) And you rank the 14 ultra lower? And I do agree it needs updates, the biggest one for me is the sharpening and balance. I feel like sharpening is inconsistent and sometimes it can be way too much and destroy images, the 13 pro NAILED the sharpening where images looked stellar in terms of that!

@@ThroughJermainesLens No the 14 Ultra is ranked just behind the Vivo X100 Pro and Oppo Find X7 Ultra. Sharpening is an issue yeah. I think Xiaomi still has to find their balance. The newly introduced Master and Leica modes for portraits also look so similiar even though the Master one should apply more sharpening and "AI optimized" face algorithms. Its just marketing bla bla currently. You are better off with just using the 3.2x lense on both without any portrait mode.

@@lltechview ohhhh so, yeah I haven't used the Oppo nor the Vivo, trust me I tried reaching out to them, but so far I haven't been succesful and the Vivo contact simply said: no units :( And more sharpening is not what we want, and I often have AI off, maybe only if I test like a x30 zoom and see what it does. I just wish they didn't do this sharpening, like that is my biggest gripe at the moment for the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra.

@@ThroughJermainesLens Yeah the sharpening is something that I think should be optional. So a configurable option somewhere in settings. Vivo offers such things. They even have an option to turn off noise reduction for video which is pretty handy sometimes. Getting test devices from Oppo and Vivo is hard for sure. I bought those two phones with my own money to be able to test them.

The 14 Ultra color rendering appeals to me a lot! It feels so moody and organic. I am really getting tired of hdr-focused processing we get from the samsungs the iphones and the pixels

Ik moet zeggen: het is geen verschil van dag en nacht. Misschien komt het door onrealistische verwachtingen van de Ultra (dat ding wordt zwaar gehyped, maar het is tenslotte geen Leica Q3 of zo) of komt het doordat de 14 best mooie plaatjes schiet. Overall prefereer ik de Ultra, die volgens mij ook wat leuker in gebruik is vanwege dingen als variabel diafragma.

Dat is waar ik ook op doel als je het als point en shoot gebruikt, dan is het verschil niet enorm, kleine detail verschil met de Ultra betere details, en meer natuurlijke diepte. maar het verschil is vooral als js het gebruikt zoals hij gebruikt moet worden als je het maximale eruit wilt halen, bijvoorbeeld Pro mode, de ND filter erop gooien voor langere exposure shots in combinatie met de variable aperture, beter RAW en natuurlijk de extra sensor optie. maar als je het echt als een point en shoot gebruikt dan is de 14 gewoon goed te vergelijken.

Sono d'accordo, ma nei confronti spesso mi attengo a ciò che fa il telefono in auto perché è il modo più giusto per confrontare tra i 2, e molte persone non lo userebbero come tale, lo credono nell'hype. Detto questo, sto lavorando sul video stand alone 14 Ultra, utilizzando la modalità pro, utilizzando Master Cinema e utilizzando anche un po' di registrazione LOG.

Hi, after a long time, shall I ask you, hd you encountered fogging on the main lens? Because, it's only hardly a month and it's rainy season here after the summers and to my surprise my Xiaomi 14 has started fogging up. It was fine during the hot days but now as soon I start the camera for some video or so and go outside it immediately fogs up Do you have any idea for a permanent solution for this. Thank you...

@@amllemansRemove your sim tray, start recording an 8K video for 1 hour and then the moisture will evaporate from the phone and now put back the sim tray, voila... Your fogging issues are gone.

@@abishek4300 hi, thanks for that, but i did already try recording 8k videos and later when closed the sim tray. Next time, if i come across a rainy afternoon time and start something related to high processing demand from the camera, the issue again comes. Yesterday, i had put the phone in a tight box full of silica gel and left it overnight. Today by noon I checked, all the fog was gone, so I took to check outside. As soon i went out to the garden under a tree shade, started 8k, the fog started showing up little by little.

Oh for me it would be the Xiaomi, it has more of a photography feel. BUT!!!! when it comes to quick shots, and ease of use I would say the pixel, so it depends on what you find important :)

I had the pixel 7 Pro and i now have the xiaomi 14 ... And i prefer the xiaomi photos , not nearly as much contrast in tricky situations , and less of an hdr look . And there's many other benefits , fast charging , stays cooler etc etc . But this is my opinion . Cheers
