Wow I waited months for this video. Don't recall I've ever waited so long for a video. I kept checking your channel on almost a daily basis hoping to see this video because I really wanted to get this router and your reviews are pretty good. Do you recommend it? Also does it support PPPoE and Dynamic IP and DHCP? Also welcome back man. Are you back for good now? Hope you are alright
Buy yesterday ax3600 for 40 bucks at Mediamarkt . Great model , rooted + ssh with 1.0.17 firmware downgrade . Updated to 1.1.19 with permanent ssh . Next 6 months , I will find better price for this ax9000
Thanks for the video! I have all 3 routers, AX 3600 AX 6000 and AX 9000 all working great! I can easily recommend all 3 of them to anyone looking to upgrade their router.
@@MarstaJNZ hey, depends on your budget and needs, if you are using old devices, few devices or don't need that much range don't use any of these wifi 6 routers, if you use a few wifi 6 devices go for AX3600, if you use wifi 6e (devices from 2021 and beyond) go for AX6000, if you want the best of the best in term of speed and signal go for AX9000, I have upgraded from AX3600 to AX6000, the difference wasn't big, but that was due to me using a wifi 6 device, after getting a wifi 6e device (Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra) speed has increased, but the range was not that good for my case, since I live in 3 floor house, so I got an AX9000 router as the main router in the basement Floor and connected to the AX6000 using mesh, and placed that AX6000 on the second floor, so I got 1 router on the lower floor and 1 on the upper floor and they both cover the middle floor (I can't place the AX9000 in the middle floor since all my networking cable and devices that use ethernet are located on the basement floor) Sorry for the very long explanation, I can tell more if you want :)
so can we set things like custom wifi names and passwords etc or is it locked to the ones set as default? and can you pick things like bands etc with the app?
Love your channel! I have the AX9000 (main), AX6000 and AX1800 for my mesh system. The 5G Game's (5.2Ghz) SSID does not appear on some of my devices' (incl. an iPhone 12) wifi scan, even when placed next to the AX9000. Do you know why that is? Also, the same said devices, when far from the AX9000 but near the other two units (ie the AX6000 and AX1800), will refuse to connect to the 5Ghz band of the AX6000/AX1800 even when the 5G signal bar (I assume from the AX9000) has disappeared. The 2.4GHz band works flawlessly throughout the mesh system across all devices though. (Just an fyi: the routers are all Chinese version, and the devices that actually worked properly across all bands happened to be purchased in the US.)
Hi first of all thank you very much for this very helpful video test I have the ax6000 at present and it works fine However I wonder how much i could gain in WIFI speed passing to the ax9000 considering that i am quite close to the router Just some 10 meters away
Hi! I also have the AX9000, but is unable to get the same speeds as you.. I get "only" around 550mbps.. What phone/device did you do the speed-test with? Thanks
Lol I found the cause of this issue as I was running an local OpenSpeedtest Server on my PC. Autotune was disabled in Windows and was causing this issue. Now I'm getting 1.7Gbps lol
Really nice and detailed review. Btw, how to turn off Redmi AX6 and xiaomi AX3600? since both of them doesn't have physical power button or you just unplug it directly from the power outlet? Thanks for the answer.
Great video.Thank you i have ax3600 modem when i step 15 steps away from the modem my 2.4ghz wont connect .it says obtaining ip/i have no problem with 5.4 ghz i reset the modem i redownload the firmware no help when i come close to modem 2.4 ghz works well even if i connect with lan cable still same problem i have this problem 4 days .before everything was working fine how can i fix it where can i find chinese firmware
I think you need to install the PC WiFi client and login to see the shared storage. Visit official site: www1.miwifi.com/miwifi_download.html and translate. There are unofficial translated versions available on the internet too.
Nice. However the power is 48W so it's something that we should think of carefully as router usually being let on for 24 hours - especially if we have a smart home devices
hi, i bought 3 ax9000, i've set up the mesh network successfully. however the question is when i check the xiao mi app (in english, i have the global version) how come all the devices are connected to the main node, not the satellite node in the mesh network, how do i transfer the devices to other nodes so it doesn't hog up only 1 node
@@tonytony8464 I've tested it I'm getting full speed via a speed test but downloads are slow theres RU-vid video buffer with it also the firewall is concerning. I'm waiting until OpenWRT release their firmware for it so I can run that the Xiaomi firmware is very limited.
Good review bro... I think it's time for you to use a computer with a very fast wifi card to see how much of the 2.5Gb you can max out of on the iperf test ... I also Think next generation they need to start making all the ports 2.5 for people that have fibre networks faster than 1Gb
Yes I already considered that, but for that I need 2 desktop computers, one server and another as the client with the new WiFi card. BTW I bought the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra because it had WiFi 6E and was supposed to use to test AX6000/9000 expecting that the routers are 6E, but Xiaomi disappointed us with a misleading advertisements. With 6E, theoretically I should be able to test higher speeds with the phone. Thanks.
@@DSmartLife no, I don't see in the specs. But I know it support the link aggregation and for me is important to have that protocol for my link aggregation.thank you
Till now mi has serious software and localization problem i had ax3600 router that didn’t connect to its app till i change the store location to china and downland the app from there also it had some limited on the bandwidth i fixed its by installing cfw to it they always produce excellent hw with excellent price with worst sw and optimization
@@samp6162 The Indian government has banned all imports from China for the average consumer, lot of tensions on our borders, they will pretty much conquer Asia completely soon😅 Lot of Chinese apps that steal personal data is also banned in India, even PUBG is banned here.
You can enter the pppoe details, ISP credentials during setup, from the web interface. However, I'm not sure if it supports all ISPs. If you currently have a Xiaomi router, then it should work.
@@DSmartLife people use xiaomi ac router with pppoe setting.anyway to know since i would be importing it and its costing half my month salary in India.
What is the firmware for? The AX9000 latest firmware is 1.0.108: cdn.cnbj1.fds.api.mi-img.com/xiaoqiang/rom/ra70/miwifi_ra70_firmware_d96a4_1.0.108.bin
