I have one since a while now and can underline this video. Every day I watch it, it brings so much pleasure, like looking the first day. The brightness is extreme, I can see the image from across the street lightning up my whole apartment :). I never had so much wow factor with any tech I’ve ever bought, and for such a long period until today I freak out with this projector. Hi great review. My gf and I a looking to buy one of these in Ireland. Being a projector is there any way to reduce the screen size with the short throw? We want this so we don't have to spend 160 euros on a TV licence.
Hi, I have also connected Apple 4K TV and Samsung Sound Bar to the projector. But I see, sound is not coing through Sound Bar. Could you please help me with the details that how did you connect your APPLE TV & Sound Bar to the projector and to which HDMI Sockets on Projector.
Ever since I bought one some 4 months ago I could not be happier with it. No issues and easily exceeded my expectations. Just wish I could install native YT as it runs off my computer. The picture is crisp and bright even during the day, some 3m wide almost 2m tall on a cream wall. YT 4k is amazing. When not watching feeds I play an ambient fireplace background and it makes the room really pleasant or nature vids for the cat. We love it. My best buy in years. Never look back to a TV.
Best thing I've over bought mate. I had to select hdmi 2.0 and change auto selected brightness for a decent picture. RU-vid 4K HDR looks amazing. Looking forward to your play store hack. Thanks for sharing.

Use this Projekter (150 / full hd) for 4 years as a TV and it works without problems for me. I use the eu version with a stock android rom in my language. Playstore and all the Apps for android TV. No probs at all.
The angle you used to review this screen image was not great. Looking up on the screen all the time. Next time straight on would be a better presentation. Also your screen looked like it had issues , and then leaving all the picture frames in front of it didnt help as well. Explanation of the overall performance was great.

I got this projector over a year ago. After 8 months all i get is a black and white chequered screen when i turn it on. Cant get past it. Xiaomi refuse to help i have contacted them several times. I loved this projector when it worked but now cant use it.
Sorry typing here to finish. The long lifespan of the laser made me decide to go for this one instead of an OLED TV, which degrades over relatively short time.
Thanks for another great video. I purchased this projector a good few months ago but because of building work I still haven't set it up yet. Did you use a grey screen / background in the end or did you stick with white? I need to purchase a screen soon and the hey ones seem to be a fair bit more pricey!
Ah one thing I forgot to mention is that my TV box is across the room and I have extended the HDMI via Ethernet HDMI sender/receivers boxes (using flat Ethernet cables which you can glue above floor plints and door frames, mine is 20 meters) the brand is AV Access. Highly recommended.
Hello, I have a xiaomi 4k projector and I bought their original 100" screen in the store but I don't like how it works so far. I have a problem with the reflection on the ceiling when I watch a movie, I see that you don't have it when the movie is playing (how to solve that) and another problem with setting the image on the screen, keystone sets the images however when I play the film the light shines where I originally put the light to cast regardless of the fact that I set everything do you know maybe where I'm going wrong

It plays Netflix and anything in 4k if you run it through the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One X or a computer but I believe it's down sampled 4K video but definitely looks better than 1080p video
Can you compare the visual aspect of image quality of Xiaomi and LG HF85JS ? As im thinking about Ultra Short Throw projector and LG is giving 3years warranty - xiaomi via gearbest is only 1 year. Cant find any comparisation between this 2 projectors on Internet. A specialy i would love to see comparisation in not fully dark environment. Best regards from Poland and keep up the good work!
My projector updated firmware on first power-on and then i found the english language in settings (not fully translated - but at least i did not have to install it from usb). Also i use Aptoide TV to install various apps without google play (including "smart youtube" - which can connect with your account so you have history and control over network). Some apps work, other don`t work... but you find most of the playstore apps with it. I use the "internal" (blue icon) videoplayer because it knows network shares and DLNA and subtitles. I use the Popcorn and twitch and SSIPTV (but you need some iptv server account).
There is a floating shelf with photo frames on it, which I usually remove prior to filming just not this time. That's what the shadow line came from nothing to do with the projector.
How to use USB? Or how to download the programs on connected USB? Or how I can watch the saved videos by connecting USB? And also I am unable to use the Chrome-cast in this. Please give me some guidance. Thank you.

great review and very helpful. Would you mind telling us, if it is possible to run it in daylight (no bright sunshine, of course, but maybe not a dark room scenario)? I was thinking of hanging it above the viewing area upside down, so that it beams basically downwards. Is that technically possible? can you turn the picture by 180 degrees in the settings?
because he use the white screen,why screen can be used on dark room.But if turn on daylight ,the image will looks like wash out .So he need a special ALR screen for it .

I used my ps4 for netflix and youtube and i noticed it has better picture colors. is there any way to improve the colors of the projector? and where do i get youtube and netflix for the projector?
Don't really understand the point about needing a lot of cabling etc. for a 4K projector. You can just plug in a chromecast and mount it on the ceiling for total of under 100$. Only cable you need is the 3.5mm sound cable for a soundbar.
Yeah - 5m of HDMI cable is like 10-15$. 4K projector with a soundbar and chromecast would cost about the same. All in all - I would say this is easier to set up if you are fine with built in speakers. But regular projector with soundbar is not a huge feat to do either. I have an old projector that I use on a table. No screen needed. Actually short throw projectors need really flat surfaces or they look distorted, regular projectors are much more forgiving.

Any kind of DLP isnt good for gaming. 3LCD or LCoS. Too much input lag. Id recommend an Epson 4010. 4k pixel shifter. Its a long throw but totally worth it

I must admit I've not tried to run a VPN app on the projector yet but will give it ago, I'm doing a projector Q&A video end of the month, if I do get one to work I'll mention it on there
Look at the JMGO projectors. They have an international version with English and Android TV OS. I think they'll be dropping some new models here soon that are suppose to be way brighter.
Yes, you can install VPN software. I installed shadowsocks apk to mine and it works fine. I use this VPN to access RU-vid here China since it's blocked
i installed Amazon Prime the same version from shield ; app runs but when you want to play something amazon does not allow it. So i dont think it is possible to watch directly from projector..

What is the perfect distance between the wall and the projector? In my case I have around 25cm clear distance only. Is this is sufficient clearance to create a 100" image? If not can I mount this projector on the wall? The reason I am asking this because I am planning to replace my current ceiling mount projector with this one using the current setup
There is a global version released with android 8.1, english and other european languages, comes with google play store and youtube out of the box. Look for serial number: MJJGYY02FM
dunno, im not software savvy. but i know 3 other people who ordered from techbeast to the UK and got the 02 version instead. they are rolling out, so it might not be long when more people get their hands on it. The android TV is close to stock and it lacks most of the unique features of the 01, they features are still there but no way to access them without xiaomi adding an app or something to let us use them.

Is the dark or black, black enough for movies? Can't stand my current sony led Tv which are not able to achieve full black. , and looking at oled or waiting for microled. But short throw projector is much cheaper then any 65" oled TV and microled.
Android version is too old:( Even if I can get English setting to work, I bet netflix is gonna stop supporting the OS within the year. Then it will be useless.
I don't like that they insist on putting software on projectors. It's all garbage, even on TV's I use an Nvidia shield TV. Save on cost, just have a good HDMI in and a good optical sound out.
I had several android china phones without playstore and on all of them, after installing the newest play services and app store, i had to wait until the next day for the playstore not to crash when opening. No idea why it does that but it was the same on 3 different phones for me. Perhaps this will help you
@@dhruvhalwasiya you can follow a normal guide how to instwll the play store. But basically you install the play services installer first, run it. Then install the play store. When you try to open the play store, it will crash. One day later you should be able to open the play store.

what is that stupid shadow in the middle of the screen? :D is that wrinkle in the wall? thats extremely anoying :D you should do some wall work buddy...probably for the best put some dry wall on that wall just to be perfectly flat...i was projecting on wall like that and its flawless almost like on canvas
