Please use bearings comes with monorim. I used the original bearings as you told and it became wobbly. Then I put the one comes with monorim and its stable now.
Fitting mine this Saturday, so thanks for the upload... I appreciate your efforts in creating/editing these videos for the benefit of others. Keep it up.
Ahh thanks for that JIm, glad its helping people! Super appreciate the feedback mate. All the best with your Modding! if you have any questions dont hesitate to get in touch ok....good luck! 🙏
doesnt sound like you actually put everything back the way it was.....All you can really do is rewind and try again. Just make sure everything is a snug fit BEFORE you do the top part of the suspension. that was the trickiest part for me. (apart from that bolt)
@@KittycatHub. its a bit awkward to get the stem pushed back up into its resting position AND tighten it at the same time. I think i was kneeling on one knee with the forks resting on my other leg and i was strugging, but when it felt 'right' i just tightened it up as quick as i could....thankfully i nailed it first time, but i feel your pain. Godd luck with it, is worth it 👍
Hiya mate I think it's a great idea that you can buy suspension also that you have a choice between different springs I'd definitely need it as I'm sixteen stone lol plus your videos are really helpful I would never of known how to change to suspension so bang on mate good stuff..
I think the Blue Spring in this kit would be good for 16st....I didnt really need blue...im so skinny i could have stuck with yellow....the girls spring 🤣🤣
Its easier than it looks....just time consuming is all! good luck with it koko. you will be happy with the results im sure of it! :) All the best mate 🙏
The Xiaomi M365 Pro has a water resistance IP rating of IP54, meaning that it can tolerate water splashes. nothing i have done in this video changes that :) Thanks for dropping a line Lomar. all the best 🙏
Great video with all the instruction we need in a good order ! I'm waiting for mine ( same suspension as your ) to be delivered by Tuesday . I hope to be that lucky to have enought grease on the bearings like your scooter .As I m riding on pavement I hope I will get more comfort by adding this suspension. Thanks !
Oh you will mate...my Scooter had such a generous amount of grease already that im sure they all must be similar.....been using mine for a couple months now and no regrets! 👍 Cheers Stefan 🙏
Brilliant upgrade for a brilliant scooter should have had suspension out of the factory for the price of it, I'd like to upgrade but most people be scared to disassemble it I am. It is a shame there's no shops that offer fitting services for scooters.
Honestly it's one of them things that looks more complicated than it is...it's just time consuming is all but nothing to worry about. I agree though that it would be better if they were factory fitted to begin with. I have a feeling future models will get it as standard 👍 ... P.s. Halfords do E scooters these days....maybe they do servicing? (But yeah I wouldn't hold my breath) cheers D4VE 🙏
This suspension looks great, but I'm worried about the motor cable because once the suspension is mounted, the motor cable seams to be to much stretch. Hopefully I'm Wrong. Sorry for the english, I'm from Portugal.
i was like that also...i just thought it would be too much of a pain in the arse to do....dont get me wrong IT IS a pain! this was over 3 hours work edited down to 15mins! but 1 bolt caused over an hour of grief if i started with WD-40 whole job would be less than 2 hours. I promise it does make a great difference and is a quality piece of kit. no regrets. thanks for the feedback/comment Roozel...appreciated! 🙏♥
@@adesquared2229 haha same one was it? 🤣 ...Im like "how come the other one is easy, but this f*uker doesnt wanna play at all? grrr 3 hour job...one hour just on this bolt! (thank god for wilkinsons and WD-40
Nice one dude! Seen these on one or two scooters and been very tempted. I've seen people go up to 10" tyres with this mod as well though, but it looks like the fender would foul a 10" tyre from my eyes!
yeah i would actually like to know the answer to this myself 100%. was chatting to someone 2 mins ago about wanting 10" next but not sure if it would work with the Forks on now? hmmm
that a good price mod I’m going to order my scooter the pro 2 and I think I’ll order the suspension at the same time and do it all before I take it out, love the videos mate
SlammDunk Productions thanks mate again and I’m glad I found your videos I kept not knowing what scooter to get but I love the look of the xiaomi I’m glad I chose that one, I’m thinking of doing the 10” tyre upgrade too what do you think? Have you thought about doing it yourself
@@supermotoskippy5914 Yeah for the price of these compared to other high end scooters you cant go wrong. As long as you are not looking to go off-roading and trail riding you dont need the suspension, but ofcourse it helps. I really only went for the Monorim suspension just because i thought it looked nice but it does make a noticable difference. I dont think you can fit suspension AND have 10" tyres so it would be up to you what your prefer. I have another Xiaomi video coming out soon (maybe a week or 2 yet) but i have another Top 10 accessories i want to show and some mods ive done since the video are really nice. hopefully you will chck it out :) but yeah Xiaomis are SUPERB value for money in my opinion, the build quality is 👍👍👍 been riding mine pretty hard for over a year now, no complaints, no issues.....and no flat tyres yet (thank god!)
SlammDunk Productions perfect thanks mate I’ll just do the suspension then as tbh I like it more because it looks cool lol, but as you know here in the UK we have a lot of pot holes 😂 so the suspension will help and be a look cool mod for sure
Great video beo keep it up im tryna be like you soon its not easy for me where i live so im tryna build up my channel aswell you are defo one of the people i look up to❤❤❤
Aww thats really nice of you to say that ☺️ even im finding it difficult getting back into the groove since covid/lockdown. Ive fallen way behind on things....so where are you from?...i will stop by your channel now and offer a little support ok. Just keep patient, keep putting out vids. It might be slow at first but it just takes one good video to get you rolling! Good luck ❤️❤️❤️🙏
@@SlammDunkProductions thanks im from uk south but its just not easy like way people are and how its a real struggle to be sucssesful from where i am im tryna be diffrent look after my mum and do things the right way for money but thanks anyway any support u show it will be taken to heart and i wont forget what u done.❤
@@skspecialist3781 I know man i feel you pain i really do...Life is a propel gruel for most of us these days for one reason or another. I dont have much in life but i have a wife who loves me, a child on the way, everyone is healthy and we have a roof over our heads (and internet 😁) So i Know im one of the lucky ones. It crazy what this Covid carry-on has done to eveyone. Businesses are closed down, economy screwed, people not able to pay rent, many getting evicted. Country is a mess and things shouldnt be this way. It all BS and i wish you the sincerest thank you for your support and Positivity despite having a hard time right now. Wish i was able to help you more my friend. Thanks again, catch you soon i hope 🙏 all the best E-scooter specialist ❤
I would think that it "Might" fit the Aovo Pro....very similar scooter build. However just to be safe i would reach out to monorim themselves. Just drop them an email and i am sure they will get back to you 👍
Nothing in the title that indicaters this is a review,...didnt realise the instructions came with a timelapse video actually showing you this already....you must have bought the bonus pack! well done! :)
i searched up on the monorim website for a suspension but i cant find a uspension that is my brand (navee v 40i pro) i see that my scooter looks quite alike to the m 365 fork should i buy an m 365 suspension?
Huh? how come? Its the other way around here...We not allowed to use the actual scooter! unless its a rental! how sad is that eh?....I can pay to use someone else's Xiaomi but i cant use my own. :(
@@SlammDunkProductions There's only really a handful of scooters that have been declared street legal here in germany. The Pro 2 (which is basically just the M365 Pro but with added features to make it street legal here) has just released last month. It's a long and specific process what the scooter needs to have. It needs to be documented, you NEED to have an insurance and a license plate for it because it's considered a vehicle. Two separate brake levers (They added one on the right that only activates the electric front brake), it is not allowed to go faster than 20km/h, you need reflectors on the sides and and and. ANY modification like a firmware flash, or adding a suspension will make the scooter no longer street legal.
@@Netsuko yeah sounds excatly the same rules they wanted to introduce here until the kids ruined it.....that a bummer about the modifications, the custom firmware i can at least understand....but adding a basic suspension kit to an e-scooter surely makes it noticable safer? especially if you on roads with potholes right?...anyway it will all be better by the time hoverboards come along im sure. :)
@@markstevendaez In order to use it on a public street/bike lane it would have to be insured and needs a license plate. Also anything that goes faster than 20km/h is not allowed either. So unless you bought it in the EU, it would not be allowed on the street here.
As I said in the video... There was plenty residue already on there... It was enough... It is enough... I can confirm this because I've done it. Maybe other scooters dont come with generous amount already on?...but mine had plenty grease already on to play with.... But i agree...dont put new bearings in dry! ✌️
lol its never been mentioned before and now 2 days in a row im being told about the 'Poor coffee table' 😁 Its an old 'council donated' table from years ago when i was poor (well....more poor than what i am now) Its now a Workbench! 😆 Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed the vid! ❤
that is not correct, it does not touch. Ive done a lot of bouncing and it has been totally fine. Although i only weight 85kg so maybe heavier person would have this issue? In all fairness though, this is the CHEAPEST and most reliable option for suspension IF you own a Xiaomi! (its for people who simply cant afford to upgrade or buy a scooter that comes with suspension as standard. I thought this kit was pretty cool. it probably looks better than it performs sure, its certainly nothing compared to the suspension on say....a Varla eagle one/Xero x :) ✌
@@jejemc78440 For the record... i know the Video doesnt show me applying any grease (because it was not the best way to do it) I did say in the text on screen that i used the Residue grease from what was already on the scooter as there was plenty enough. but yeah...I figured you thought i put NO grease at all and was suggesting i at least used some cooking lard or something! 🤣🤣🤣 fair play man..whatever whatever...Give me my trophy back if you like...There always someone complaining to me they Used the Pro hack on an original M365 and bricked there scoot i will pass it onto one of them. Take it easy jejemc ✌
¡gracias! 👍
i would not be able to help without a lot more information than "feels wobbly". i feel that without something visual i probably cant help at all. It could be anything... sorry :( there will be other tutorials out there if you search for them. Mine is more of a timelapse than a full guide.
Cool video, completed mine today. But the top front of the fender hits the bottom end of the spring holder. Anyone else had this problem? Any advice please?
i didnt have this problem, but i think i know what you mean....i believe this is the solution: www.amazon.co.uk/Vestigia%C2%AE-Suspension-Modification-Replacement-Accessories/dp/B083HQJLPX there is an official metallic red one by Monorim but i couldnt find it just now. hope that helps? ✌
Nice tutorial, but for my scooter the screw without the cable doesnt loosen at all. I´ve tried diffrent tools but they all dont work. What is the tool called you used? Would be nice to know!
I weighed about 168 pounds and I’m wondering if I used the yellow spring, will I feel less of the smaller bumps? I’m currently using the blue spring and I still feel the smalll bumps
Haha you dont want me to tell you do you? I have no idea and im deffo not keen to find out 🤣 Only one way to find out right? :) I just read from many people reviewing that it was best to swap over to the blue right from the start as it was the heavy duty one. Im quite a skinny guy myself so maybe Yellow would be better for me also? but to be honest Im very happy with the results...i mean sure i can still feel tiny bumps, No suspension on the rear after all so i dont know what to tell you. if you do change over to yellow id love for you to come back and let us know your opinion🙏
Hello! I have the monorim V4 Front suspension with everything stock, every since I mounted it I have a clanking noise in the part you have in hand at 8:08 ,can I fix it?
yeah its just a case of making sure everything is a tiht fit and done properly when putting together. there should be no play at all when complete. make sure before tightning up that you have lifted the wheel/stem as far as it will go before folding over the top part of the suspension. if thats done properly it should be good. im not sure what else to suggest mate. hope you got it sorted 🙏
Nice video, going to buy this when it comes back in stock in the UK. Is there anything I should note before I buy? I'm confident i'll be able to fit it. I'm asking in regards to the functionality. Thanks in advance!
So far so good, im really impressed with it and i think i looks cool. No regrets. Shame its out of stock again, but i guess it says a lot about the popularity of it. I waited a couple of weeks also for it to come back in stock. put my name on the waiting list and when Amazon emailed me got it straight away. people been recommending it to me for ages wish i got it sooner. thanks for the feedback A B Good luck with it ✌
@@SlammDunkProductions managed to order one, there was one left on mybestscooter and it should be coming on Tuesday. Will be using your video when fitting. Thanks again!
SlammDunk Productions received and fitted it today. Made such a huge difference, I’m very very pleased with it. Did quite a long journey just now and my legs/knees feel much better after riding. For anybody else looking to purchase one; 1) you NEED tools. You will not get the bolt of the front wheels unless you are Thanos. 2) remember how the bearing came off the steering column. 3) the smallest Alan key for the screws behind the plastic cover/stickers is rubbish. When screwing it back into the suspension kit, you’ll need a screwdriver with that but to get it flush. 4) Be careful when removing the reflective stickers as you’ll be putting them back on. 5) the blue spring is probably better, I could squeeze the yellow spring with my hand slightly. 6) again, be prepared to take some time figuring those front wheel bolts out. That probably took up most of my time (the whole process took me 3/4 hours, I have some DIY experience. I would imagine it would take much longer for something with very little experience). Thanks again for the video, wouldn’t have bought it without the help of the video to be honest. The manufacturers should sponsor you 😂
@@AamirBadat "You will not get the bolt of the front wheels unless you are Thanos." 🤣🤣 yeah i deffo agree with that!....I Maybe reach out to monorim and be like "i will do a follow up video on the suspension if you spponsor me" ...see if they bite 🤣 really appreciate that last comment, everything you say is spot on. 👍👍👍
Lol i doubt it... AliExpress sell alot of cheap ripp offs for sure but ive never seen fakes...if its advertised as a Monorim thats what your gonna get...they are made over over there after all. Dont worry. You might have to wait a while on delivery but prices are great 🙂 all the best mate you wont regret it. 👍✌️❤️
I dont have the scooter anymore mate. I always give scooters away to subs once ive finished filming with them. If id kept it then i deffo would have. It just looks so much cooler! :)
Good video mate, do you have any idea on how to stop the scooter creaking ? Had it 2 weeks and can hear the creaks even with AirPods in, sounds disgusting
You need the Little Vibration damper in the Stem probaby mate....If you look at my last video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Eks04G9NmXA.html skip to: 7mins55. and i talk about it there....they are really cheap and will solve your creaking noise like magic...i promise! Link for the product on Amazon is in that video description. hope it helps pal? good luck. thanks! 🙏
SlammDunk Productions brilliant cheers mate I’ll definitely give that a try 🤙🏼 tried stuffing a plastic bag in there and cutting the excess but it’s no use , dampeners seem like the way forward 👌🏼 best pro vids on RU-vid geeze keep it up
@@thejackster10100 Yeah its amazing what a thin piece of 3D printed plastic can do...I dont fancy the other method of lubing it up regluarly with WD-40 that cant be very kind on the metalwork and a bit sloppy 😂....just bear in mind with the Damper/Dampener whatever...to start with the thinnest one first...0.4 is probably enough if its a new scoot, but if roblem is worse might need 0.6, very unliekly you will ever need higher than that. If you cant close the latch it just unscrew the central forward facing bolt very slightly until the latch can close with the damper in for a nice tight lock. You will be so surprised...cant live without it, that creaking noise is the worst! Sound like a 10 year old beat scooter not new lol.
How did you get the steering fixture part to lock in at 7:37. For me it doesn't stay i've tried for hours but it doesnt lock in place. Anyways thanks for the video :)
ive watched the timestamped section you quoted but cant really think of a good answer to give. I didnt cut anything out of the video i just did what you can see in the video. unfortunately i dont have a simple solution i can only recommend you keep trying until you get it right. Sorry i cant be of more use :(
Hi Mate! Can you try replacing the red cannister spring loaded shock with this popular DNM-AOY 36rc air shock? This is widely use with rear suspension on bicycles, but there has been quite a few of xiaomi users successfully installed this on their monorim :) the suspension play is better than this springs
having a look at it now...hmm i dont imagine so mate, but im not expert on the matter. Just showing how to instal this kit i dont know about 'other' suspension sorry.
I use my scooter on a Daily basis....Monorim is easily the standard for Suspension and hand on my heart ive had zero issues. You have either done something wrong or you are using suspension not made for your model scooter. I cant imagine it being a manufacturer fault.....I mean "the forks shake and are loose"?? is that what your saying? Just sounds like you did a bad job putting them on maybe. If you could take a photo of your finished build maybe i can help?
AHH the actual spring...I thought the bearings you asking about at first sorry....I don't have anything (yet) was fine for a few weeks but yes it squeaks now. I have some WD40 silicone lubricant that I'm going to try out. 🤞
Nothing negative to say about it at all. I mean it does feel a little 'different' but not in a negative way and the speed/battery seems exact same. 👍 Great little mod ☺️
