Hi Guys. You can buy a ready-made connectors kit for a second battery. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224055311121 36V Battery pack with Samsung cells: www.ebay.co.uk/usr/tompie
This guy is a genius when it comes to e-batteries, he built me a 54v battery with smart bms for my ebike, best battery I've ever had, keep up the good work👍👍👍
What a top dude replied to my message and even helped with advice and direction 👍 big shout. Also i have purchased the wire conversion from your ebay site to support what your doing instead of making my own. Nice one
@@tatech8696 hi sorry to bother you again but just a quick question on the battery 2. As its connected in series with battery 1 and charged through the scooter port will battery 2 still balance charge as the DC imput for battery 2 will not be used and im assuming the BMS utilisation would be via the DC imput on battery 2 pack. Or will the scooter BMS via the scooter imput charge and balance both batteries. Thanks
Hi. You have to connect both batteries in parallel. Charging both batteries via scooter port will not balance the cells of the 2nd battery unless single port BMS is used in the battery pack. You can also disconnect the extra battery once a month and charge it via a battery charging port to balance the battery cells.
Can anybody help me find a battery like the ebay links as he doesnt have them in stock or sell them anymore ? I'm looking for a 12ah or higher if possible and for them to have the bms and case like the samsung ones he recommends
You’re a good builder bro. You should also do some heave duty scooter external battery connection too as there is none here in youtube so far. You could get a lot or views. EKscooters like, Ultron,Dualtron, Kaabo, Weped and exc
Hi. Thanks for nice comment. Unfortunately, I do not have access to these scooters but if there is an opportunity I will do a similar tutorial. Please subscribe, like and share my channel to others.
I was thinking of doing the same thing. I think the batteries for my remote control cars will work. You should start selling the ready made connector. I would purchase it. I already wrote gotrax asking if could make a second battery for my scooter. It started with just going to work, but now I take it everywhere. I need to extend my scooter by another 5 miles, then I could get rid of my car.
I believe It is better to have a auto fuse holder with 10..15A fuse on the "+" way from second battery just for safety. This is just in case if somehow one battery is empty and second is loaded. Current between can be high and damage BMS. Protection is never exessive.
This video has been so helpful sir, thank you. I’m on my final steps and I’m a little nervous about charging, as I only have the OEM charger for my M365 Pro. My question: if the main battery (max capacity) is 42v and my new external is 36v...besides dropping both batteries to 36v (before connection), should I also update the firmware with the selection of Battery Voltage Limit set to 36v instead of 42v? Your guidance is massively appreciated.
Hi. Thanks for comment. Your external battery will also have around 42V in full charge (36V nominally, 31 - 32V cut off). Do not make any changes to the "Battery Voltage Limit" section. You must to make a custom firmware and enable "Remove charging mode"
@@tatech8696 Bad news my friend. I think something went wrong with the firmware update. I followed all instructions for using DownG, at least I believe I did. The firmware update completed...and then the scooter froze up. It would not shut off, or respond in anyway button presses...I couldn't shut the light off, the motor wouldn't turn and the system would not turn off. I had to pull the battery cable to get it to power down. At this point, I cannot get DownG to reconnect to the scooter (to try the flash again). Bluetooth connects, but I get the error of "canceled due to retry" when running the Version check. So I have two questions, well 3 actually. 1. Can I use the Xiamoi - Mi Home app to get back to the factory default? 2. Was it my BLE and Firmware Versions that caused the issue. I made note of them before I attempted the firmware update (BLE = 0110, Firmware = 0166) 3. Would you be willing to accept payment via your Paypal for your assistance? You have been very kind to all on your channel. I would like to compensate you for your time in helping me.
@@Hydropanic1 hey!!! Thanks for the input. Your assessment is 100% correct. I did gave an ST-Link a try. The learning how to solder was really fun but eventually just replaced the BLE and bought a Rita. It works flawlessly. And while I’m happy to have learned so much about my scooter’s systems, Rita was the way to go. Highly recommended.
Just a thought here but wouldn't you eliminate the problems of the scooter going into charge mode by simply connecting both batteries to the controller rather than one to the controller and the other piggy backing through the battery. That's what I did with my bike, both batteries go through the controller on one cable, thus they are in parallel, had I done it this way, I'm sure I would have had issues with charging. But as it stands I charge both batteries together off the same charge circuit. So instead of going battery controller battery, go battery, battery controller, it's in parallel so it shouldn't make any difference, so long as both batteries start at the same level on the first charge.
Nice vid. Very informative. What are the red and black plastic things you use to cover and melt on the wires called please. Thank you for another great vid.
Hi thought i had sent my question but think i forgot to press send lol . Firstly thanks for the fantastic vid instructions . My question are , Did you remove or conceal the additional power charging jack on Battery 2 and perform the full charge through the scooter port , also if using the original Xiaomi M365 pro supplied charger what are you charging times coming back as ? I ask as the standard battery is around 5 to 8 hours so does that mean this one is in excess of 12 hours to fully charge from 0. Also can you tell me the size of the bolts you used to connect bag to the scooter pls ?
Hi Maxta. Thanks for the nice comment. I charge both batteries via the original scooter port and conceal the additional power charging port. Some people charge both batteries via additional battery charge port but I haven't checked it yet. Yes, the charging time will increase in proportion to the capacity of the second battery. The purchase of a more powerful "42V 3A" charger may be a good solution. The original charger is 1.7A so the charging should be almost twice as fast. I used M8x30 bolts but some people do not recommend drilling into a scooter tube because it weakens it. I have been riding on my scooter with two holes last two years and I have no issue (I used my girlfriend's scooter on the video). A good solution if you have the option is to print on a 3D printer "Batttery mount bracket".

@@tatech8696 Thanks for the clarification. The Emove Cruiser which have a 52V 30Ah battery pack is supplied with a "pity" 2A charger, why this to save money? It takes 13 hours to charge the batteries and adding a similar additional pack will double the time so what charger do you suggest, just more A like 4A charger?

Hey i have a few questions, when you say make sure both battereis are the same voltage do you mean that the external battery voltage is the a battery percent? or is it a fixed number and if it is like a battery percent how do i measure both voltages? Also i plan to use a CFW to make speed faster is there away to check that option box when i use someone elses cfw options? Also do i have to drill holes or can i just connect the battery box to the stem/board buy velcro or cable ties and alsocan i but the battery directly in the box or do i have to put something at the bottom? Also is the Stock charger tha comes with the scooter fine to charge and is it safe? Cheers for the video
After install does this mean you can charge the battery on either the external and stock port? I noticed the external battery has a charger connector as well.. Thank you! Looking to buy the connector right now..
Really really bad idea to drill holes in the down tube, you massively weaken the strength at this point, might be ok for lighter riders but not for larger people, also there is absolutely no need to do this, straps clamps or cable ties would be more than sufficient, thumbs down from me sorry.
I appreciate your feedback, but I personally don't think that two small holes affect the tube's durability. In this scooter, there are many more points that have much less strength.
@@tatech8696 I could show you structural analysis using stress analysis tools I use in my day job designing cranes if you like, just look at the guidelines on house building with regard to drilling holes in roof beams and rafters if you want to really see the effect this has, you really must not perform this modification,.there is no need to drill the downtube at all, I really would re edit this video to not show this step.
In the process of doing this myself and I've used 2 exhaust u clamps with extended legs. 45mm diameter with a cut up inner tube to line the frame where it touches. It's rock solid and no need to drill ;)
Thanks for the good and professional presentation, but my question is I notice that you connect fuse 25 A, but when you make the installation I didn't see it ...!!did you remove it as we don't need it ...is it necessary to connect this fuse or not.., Regards
External battery does not charge at the same rate as internal possibly due to BMS. Do you charge each battery seperate? I charged my scooter for a little bit and unplugged the external battery to test voltage and found my internal battery was much higher. Thank you for the video.
I charge my batteries through the internal battery and everything is fine. 12:13 Have you created and installed custom firmware with " Remove Charging Mode" enabled? if not, you will find the link to the website in the description.
@@tatech8696 I did that too. Must be the BMS in the battery i bought not allowing current through the output connectors and only allowing charging through the barrel connector. Interesting. Just thought id ask. Thank you for the reply.
Best guide i have seen. Any idea what battery packs are safe to buy from Aliexpress? seems like theres so many of them. Also, how much range did you gain?
Thanks. LiitoKala batteries are safe to buy, I had no problem with it but I waited a long time for the parcel (6-7 weeks). You need Battery pack with "BMS" and any 36V from 8AH up will be good. I had an 10AH battery pack and it doubled my range.
@@tatech8696 Wow, thas amazing. My weight is 93kg and im getting around 20-30km on regular battery with no hacked firmware. If i could get at leat 50km range that would be amazing. I could skipp charging at work at all
@@brottochstraff Good range, I guess you have "M365 Pro" which has the originally a battery with a capacity of 12.8 Ah, so to double the range you need to connect a minimum of 12Ah. I have M365 (not Pro) which has batteries with a capacity of 7.8ah and an additional 10Ah doubled my range
Can't you use both battery separately like if one battery runs out then use the other one instead if parallel? I'm saying this cuz it's hard to make sure both battery on dame voltage
Thanks Maco. I charge both batteries via the original scooter port. Some people charge both batteries via additional battery charge lead but I haven't checked it yet so I don't know how it will work. The third option is to charge both batteries with two separate chargers but the batteries must then be disconnected and the chargers must be the same (2nd genuine xiaomi charger) and they must be charged to the same voltage. After charging, When they are still disconnected, check both batteries with voltmeter to see if they have the same voltage. One more option is to buy a more powerful charger. The original charger charges with 1.7A, I bought and are still waiting for the 3A charger.
T&A Tech thanks for the quick response Greatly appreciate it I think I will go with the option of charging via the original port, it seem like best best option to me as it will charge both batteries. I take it will take roughly 10 hours to charge both batteries with original charger?
Hi! I did this, but when connecting everything and still installing the new firmware, one battery charges the other and does not take it, what is happening?
Great video, thank you! But I have one question: can I use the charging port of the scooter as a voltage OUTPUT? I want to use the scooter as a powerbank, then connect it to a buck converter...
I've been waiting for someone to make a ready made connecter since i bought scooter. I am very excited to hook it up! Can you let me know what battery I should purchase for the non pro version?
Question..? If the batteries we connect is both 60v. The 1 (in scoot) is 20a with 3000 capacity cells and 30a discharge And the 2 (external) battery is 21a with 2600 capacity cells and 20a discharge Conect them in parallel, they will work or i will have problems? Your batteries have them in parallel All the time? Is exactly the same batteries and capacity? If they are not (as mine) do you have any issues? Thanks!!🙏
wait. I saw your external battery has a BMS charging port. Do you have to connect additional charger to charge external battery on top of connecting original charger? Or can this be done just by connecting original charger into scooter charging port and both batteries will charge?
After doing the exact same connections the battery, it should act just like a double capacity factory battery? Of course I would make a custom firmware with the charging fixed.
The original battery has 7.8ah if you connect a second 7.8 ah or more then you will have 15.6 or more (depending on what capacity the additional battery) the application will still show the capacity of the original battery because it will take data from the original BMS battery but the percentage of capacity while driving will decrease more slowly. There is also a second method of connecting directly to the original battery (plus to plus, minus to minus) but then you need to cut the plastic cover and you need to be more careful because you can damage the original battery
Hi Hassan. Thanks for nice comment. I have no idea if this could damage the scooter. However, the 25Ah battery pack will be very large and heavy so it will be a problem to mount it on a scooter :/
Hello. My friend has this 12s battery pack on the normal M365 pro. I have the pro 2 but i run 42 kph, and then the scooter is braking. Hes is running 55+ because theres no braking on it. Do you know how to fix this on the pro 2?
Thanks Morgan. If you type "SMD rework station" in the tab search then they should show up. I bought my heat gun many years ago and I don't remember if it was on ebay or amazon.
Salve sono interessato le chiedo: il mio monopattino e della vivobike ed ha il Bluetooth cosa mi consiglia? Vorrei più autonomia e magari un po' più di velocità. Tutto questo cosa mi costa se è fattibile? Grazie mille
Can anybody help ? What would happen if the voltages are different? I've got 40.1 and 40.2 my meter doesnt show more detailed reading and wondering if this is ok ?
I saw this all over the internet. Let me say if i buy the full kit completly from you! The Xiaomi E scooter Pro 2 Has a 45Km Range And with the extra battery on it how much Km will it reach? I need to know it since im interested to buy one
Hi. Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, I do not sell full kits (cable, battery, battery bag) I only made and sell a cable kit for connecting an additional battery in parallel. The Xiaomi Pro2 has a 12.4Ah capacity of the battery pack, so if you connect an additional battery pack of the same capacity, the range will almost double. If you connect half the capacity, the range will increase by about 50% from the original. Overall, the range depends on many factors such as Driver's weight, weather, road surface, slopes, and many more.
The size of the bag depends on the dimensions of the battery. For the battery from the first link, this bag should be good (colour- WL03) : www.aliexpress.com/item/4000981116507.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.74a81d54FZDbQV&algo_pvid=6717369b-d03d-4126-81e2-22994dd60625&algo_expid=6717369b-d03d-4126-81e2-22994dd60625-57&btsid=0ab6fab215904733856511393e01c4&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
Hi. Both batteries must have the same voltage when connected together. After a few miles, disconnect them and check again if they still have the same voltage.
Great Video 😊 This is my nxt Project. My only concern is how will both batteries Internal and External Discharge at the same rate ? The Internal Pack Could be 8.4Ah with High Quality Sony/LG/Samsung and the External Pack could be 8.4Ah But with Cheaper cells thus the voltage on the External pack will Drain faster this is my only issue. I could be Wrong Tho
Hi, are you still selling the Samsung Cell Battery? Link is not working. Even if you can provide me with a link where someone else is selling it. In addition do you have a link to the holder bag used? Thanks :)
Hi. Depends on the capacity of the second battery. M365 PRO has batteries with a capacity of 12.8 Ah so adding a second battery with the same capacity (12.8Ah) will increase the range almost double. by adding 9Ah you'll get about 70% more range. Also the range of the scooter depends on many factors such as the weight of the user, the surface on which we drive, how we drive, wind etc...
@@tatech8696 ofcourse that makes sense, and i get that, which is normal allot of factors play a part, Okey then so if i get 40 km with 1 battery then 80 with 2
Hey sir.can u help me choose a compatible extra battery for my "two dots onekick three" electric scooter.cause my battery only had 36V 4Ah and its not enough to go to work...tnx
Hi MAG FAM. I don't know this scooter so unfortunately I can't help you. Scooters from various companies have different electronics and batteries. Try searching for a video or some information about your scooter model.
Can anybody help me find the 12ah battery like the samsung ones he recomends in the UK? Maybe more ah if possible , and I'm not too shure if I understand this so with the extra batt mod does the scooter show a true battery percentage for both or does it show only original battery percent ?
Perdoname bro pero todo estaba bien hasta que le abriste agujeros al patín. Si lo vas a hacer por lo menos pon alguna junta tórica en los tornillos. A la minima que llueva tienes todo el patin de agua xD
Thanks mate. Percentages on the dashboard and in the "m365 tools" app go down slower/correctly but the capacity of the additional battery is not shown in the app.
@@tatech8696 Hi T&A, I have a question about the fuse. I have a Xiaomi Pro. Since the scooter's charger has an output of 42V, what type of fuse should I use. The ones I see on Aliexpress are either 12V or 32V. Thanks in advance!

@@tatech8696 Thank you! I ordered everything I need on Aliexpress. A well reviewed, 12.8Ah decent batterypack, heat shrinking tube, 16AWG cable, XT30 connectors and also a 32V fuse. The thing I was "worried" about was the fuse blowing up as soon as batteries get charged because of the fact that the charger is 42V and the the fuse 32V but I realised it's not the voltage but the current wich matters.
