These types of devices were no brainers when they were under $40 US, but they've been creeping up in price. $75 is a lot to ask for a device like this. You're creeping into new base Fitbit territory (or even used Apple Watch), where (at least in the US) there's a community built around. Sure this has nice (and more) features, but it's nice to have friends and competitions. You're on your own with this, more than likely.

Just purchased the mi band 6... And absolutely LOVE IT. Especially all the third party watch faces. Going to buy the 7 now and give this one to my wife lol

@@raghavkapoor6888 no sir, the mi bands are super cheap. I got mine for $30 new off Amazon. And just purchased the 7 off Amazon for $55 considering how great of quality they are. Just as good as apple watches in my opinion. So being under $100 for both of them. That's an amazing deal

If I had to give two recommendations regarding the Mi Band 7, these would be them: 1) Don't use the Mi Fit software. My band encouraged me to install that, but don't do it. It doesn't let you switch units, so if you're in the United States, you can't use imperial units. (At least, for now.) 2) I replaced my band. I'm in a wheelchair, and I've found that the design of the standard band means that if my wrist rubs against my wheel, the rubber, combined with the fact that there's only a single pin holding the band on, means that I would find the band pulled off my wrist every once in a while. The band I have now has a more conventional watch clasp with a hook that goes into a hole, keeping it on my wrist.

Two excellent points made there Brian. I'm disabled too and find the strap a nightmare to put on. I like the quality of the silicon but would have liked an option of a standard buckle. They need to sort out the app, just have one and be done with it. An option to make the text bigger/ bolder in the app would be nice and a dark mode option would be welcome.

This might be unpopular opinion, but I miss when trackers had smaller screens like on the Miband 2.. As someone who loves analog watches I like having my tracker on my non-watch wrist

Unpopular opinion but if u don’t like the screen size just get the the mi band 7 pro there’s no need to change the band size. I like the pill like shape it fix’s my tiny wrist🤷🏽‍♀️

2 weeks battery life is the biggest draw for me with the Mi Bands. I have the 6 and its such an amazing device. I always brag about the battery life because all other bands and watches could not simply compare, at all. I'm waiting for more reviews before considering the upgrade (I don't think I will due to feature-wise) but if the battery life is just as good as the 6, I would recommend this to anyone.

Had my Chinese version now for 5 days. Battery is currently at 70% which is great. However, there does appear to be some screen lag on wake up occasionally. 1 in 10 in just refused to wake up on tap. Also, the music controls are quite unresponsive, so I also put this down to screen responsiveness too. Other than these then I'm really happy with it. I just hope these 2 things will improve with firmware updates.

Disagree with you totally about the security of the band, even with checking that the pin is push fully in, have found on about 10 times now since arriving 5 days ago, it has come off. Also, the 'sensitivity' of swiping or pressing differs and I am constantly not getting what I want to appear.

The screen turns on and the water drops navigate and make changes in the menu when I take showers. Very irritating. Does this also happen while swimming? I have a Mi Band 6.

I also hav a Mi Band 6, been wearing it 24/7 for over a year. It's great, but I hate that you can not lock the screen during workout. It pauses and even stops workout when it gets wet or rubs against clothes etc. Did they fix this in the new one?

@@willborg99 I don't know if they fixed that issue in the 7. I hope so. The screens are too sensitive. The phones have that issue too. It looks like I'm gonna be switching to a new tracker. I want to go swimming with my band, but by the looks of it that's impossible.
