I will say this thing is USELESS as same as you, if NEVER touch it physically (real product). But when tried it I say this is the only exception product (for myself) that "don't make sense" to buy it at first, but later give you very special feeling that is hard to describe in words, and found actually worth every of my penny. The FEELING is not you can understand or guessing by reading product description, watching picture or even videos (most of them don't even provide useful/important small clue). In other word, you are LOGICALLY correct, it don't make sense at all if you never tried it physically in stores which demo the real product, but in truth you will understand the feeling worth it after you use it. I mainly use this product for making quick sketching/drawing, the pressure sensitivity is the most important factor to consider for any useful drawing, from slightest/thin to most heavy/bold line (also need to reflect from what I want in my mind, to the actual output result I got, in linear way, not in unexpected way), as such, I will be picky about if the product could express the feeling precisely. Also the erase-all button "don't make sense" since you will think it makes drawing process more difficult, what if you put some stoke wrong? No, in fact it is good in two ways: 1/ It is training my mind to imaging/thinking first before putting actual stroke, my skill improve faster than having eraser on hand (there are some product have eraser version for higher price, but not necessary useful for me), as told by some people who know a thing or two about about drawing (not me, I can't draw and I'm still use it for practicing) 2/ It triggers me make faster iterations: Draw anything fast, drop it (erase the whole canvas), then draw same thing with small variation again. LESS IS MORE - The erase-all feature loose your mind to THINK TOO MUCH, you can only understand why until you use it since the EXPERIENCE and FEELING is hard to explain in words, you can only understand after experiencing. Compare to the astonishing overpriced professional drawing tablet, without-screen version start from maybe $100, with-screen version maybe $400, while the LCD writing tablet is damn "dust cheep" and ubiquitous on the market that you can buy everywhere in fact (any brand) and also standalone (no PC/Smartphone required, just bring/throw it everywhere beside you, too cheap to the point you don't need worry about even if you drop it on the ground). The more quick you can get into the sketching idea/state the better, this is why "stupid" medium/SOLUTION like paper/pen is still the most useful thing in reality, you get them in less then 5 seconds, more then this length you are going to be too lazy to use it no matter how good the product, the idea "comes fast and vanish fast". And some app-featuring LCD writing tablet is not any useful for me, these extra feature only makes unnecessary distraction. I also don't need sync to device, I will drop most of my drawing later, it remains only in my mind or maybe just forget the trash thoughts, I only take picture if require and make high contrast photo edit if require. I don't consider the price (which save more money) between using paper/pen and LCD writing Tablet, it can be less or more depending how frequently you use it, how durable the product, how large the size of paper (if you need sketching on large paper, this will save much more paper waste, and loose your mind of been cautious about using large paper wisely because of wasting)... etc. Also it is hard to tell which is more harm to environment, the mercury in battery, the circuit board, or the tree been cut down to make paper. So these factor are not consider point for me at least, the more important factor is the drawing experience.
