Great Review Brother. Quality of content is very nice. I agree with your point on using the normal DC in port vs USB C. I am more inclined toward Benq gs50 for this precise reason. Another downside is the fixed zoom. They say you can’t change the picture size in this, and it depends on how far the projector is from the wall? Is that correct?

What do you think between this projector and the Nebula Solar Portable? I also saw your review for that one, but it's hard to make a decision if the Xiaomi worth it? I know it has 100 lumens more bright, but worth it?... Also is there any difference in terms of image quality?

In my opinion the Solar is a little brighter. Perhaps it is the slightly better overall device.

The Nebula Capsule 3 is for sure better. Whether generation 1 is better - I can't say because I do not have the older generation around

Fantastic review; I have had mine for a few years now and agree with your points. In regards to the power adapter, is there a way to streamline it with an alternate adapter? The Chinese to US adapter is SO LOOSE that footsteps might kill the connection. I have it rubber banded and taped but that is a less than elegant option. Conversely, I'm nervous I'm not calculating the inputted and outputted volts / ampage correctly and might burn out the projector. Would love to hear back. Thanks!

@@TechMishka I ended up getting a universal ac power adapter that had a variety of tips and adjustable power outputs (19V for us). Got mine at microcenter but you'd probably be fine spending half as much at Amazon. Been going a month strong and no signs of issues. Best of luck!

Looks decent, although at the moment I'd still lean toward my beloved wee Xgimi Mogo Pro - although that doesn't have Netflix natively (I'm fine with a Firestick though).

With these projectors - the closer you are to the screen, the crisper the image quality will be. Perhaps a 60-inch option is quite good if you need more detail.

Likely there will be sync issue when adding multiple speakers. Theoretically - you can do it, practically - not sure whether it will be as good as you hope it to be.

Not familiar with the issue on the previous generation. Some people report that when it works for a prolonged time it messes up the focus. I haven't noticed such a problem with this projector.

Hi! I bought the MI Smart Projector 2, but I couldn't get it to work. The remote control doesn't pair with the projector, the projector doesn't detect any Wifi network and also I couldn't connect to it via Bluetooth network. The only way I was able to access the system was through the mouse connection, but as it is not possible to configure the settings without being connected to the internet, I could not use it. Can someone explain to me what is happening and if possible could help me? I thank you for your attention.

I had the same question found out that this device has a video latency around 500ms which by no means is considered ok for gaming

If it is for gaming - there are two major drawbacks: - Android TV limits amount of games a lot - there is considerable amount of latency, so for games where reactions are important - this is a no-go. Better play games on a TV.

i own the same projector (mi smart mini projector 2), and i cant find a way to adjust image settings while playing a movie. I have to stop the movie, exit to start screen and go to settings. Its impossible to calibrate a screen without a reference movie playing. At mi smart mini projector 1, you had to press the middle button on the ring, with gen.2 when you press it nothing happens. Can anyboby help me with a solution?? Thank you in advance.

Just had it 2 days ago but the projector cannot find 5ghz signal so I bring it back to the shop for claim. The shop open a new one for me and do the test but it still has the same problem that it cannot find 5ghz signal 😅 so, shop open another new one to test but the same ….. now don’t know what to do

@@TechMishka Yes, I did try to connect the projector to 4 different routers ( Mi ax1800 , Asus , Dlink and Mi ax3600 but there is only 1 router found 5Ghz signal which is Mi ax3600. Other smartphones and other devices can see 5GHZ signal of all the routers. This is so weird

@@ballinaire make sure the firmware and the android tv versions are up to date. This was a problem about a year ago but it got fixed (it was bloody nightmare btw). Your unit may not have been updated.

What he forget or had to omit in the review: this device looses focus after a while, the software is slow and crashes esp on RU-vid or Netflix. Video latency is so high that you can not play anything.

Hey Betham, thanks for the comment! What do you mean about "after a while"? Never had it with mine, and it's been working for days already. RU-vid and Netflix work flawlessly both. I'm surprised to hear about these issues - because such kind of hardware has been used in multiple TV Boxes.

@@TechMishka there have been complaints with the first version that the video becomes blurry after a while of watching. This results in people Re adjusting the focus which is really annoying. Have you experienced this in the 2nd edition?
