The cheaper one will still have a base, it just won’t empty itself so you can do it. You will be able to upgrade later if you want :)

Like you say the main differences come down to increased suction on the Mop 2 Ultra (4,000pa vs 3,000) and the internal dustbin of 550ml (vs 450ml). The only other major advantage is the fact that the Ultra is compatible with the auto-empty station (Mop 2 Ultra +) which we've seen to be quite popular with people who decide they want to upgrade to this feature.

It should do pretty well for you. The mopping could be better but for the price it’s really good. There’s definitely diminishing returns if you invest more in most cases.

It can definitely save more than one map! I believe it can do up to 5 :)

You do still have to use dustbin bags for this robot. The Roborock S7 Plus has a bagless version of the auto-empty station (in Australasia) if that helps you decide!

Yes, there probably are better options. Even the Mop Pro 2 is better than the ultra. However, it purely depends on what you require - the Ecovacs X1 Omni, Roborock S7 MaxV or Dreame W10 are probably the best mops at the moment but quite a lot more expensive. Closer in price the Ecovacs T9 or Roborock S7 are probably the best options.

There’s another vacuum motor inside the base and it sucks it out of the bottom of the robot :)

Hmm, it’s definitely in a bit of a different category. This is not as smart but it’s still pretty good. The biggest differences in actual cleaning performance would be more noticeable on hard floor with the mopping. Depends on budgets really :)

Полное разочарование. Перед покупкой обязательно прочтите ветку на 4pda. Производитель не Xiaomi а dreame , программа под ultra урезана. Вообще нет никаких настроек в mihome. Нет ни одного расходника и подложки под тряпку в комплекте. На ковер двухцветный еле взбирается и мучается. В комнате 2 дивана (временно), между ними 70 см, а ultra не может проехать и убрать половину комнаты. Провожу пультом, тогда не может вернуться на базу. Сетка перед HEPA несъёмная. Самое главное это то, что в программе нет настроек уборки для каждой комнаты и участков. Жалею, что не взял pro дешевле или roborock с безмешковой базой.

No problem! Yes it does... small vibrations, but very fast.

It does vibrate? I thought they took away this feature in ultra for reasons I could not understand. Mop 2 pro has that 10000 sonic vibration feature.

I have 2 ultra. It can do everything you said it can't do. It's the same app for both robots

After i did a software update recently, my Xiaomi 2 Ultra is also able to do all those functions.

They’re made in the same factory, Xiaomi vacuum robot series are produced by Dreame factory actually

its internally a dreame vacuum, if you check your router youll find the name

Hi, that’s a good question. I’d probably go with the mop 2 pro because of the battery life, which can be too short for many on the N8 :)

Great I've just bought this from Pb tech NZ for $689.... Hopefully that's a good deal? I just sent back the Midea S8+ to Trade Depot which I got for $699 including the tower... It kept getting jammed and the maps got messed up after a week....the final straw was the vacuum would work for a minute then stop and beep once.... Usually it would say what's wrong like Clean Roller etc but nope just stopped and beeped and no one could say why...so refund time. Hopefully I have a better experience with the Xiaomi Ultra 2 🤞

No, on the contrary I found it better than normal in this regard!

If you don't want to use the mopping feature, you can just remove the mopping attachment from the robot :)

The easiest way is to remove the mop, but you can change it through the app too.
