The Zero Ai Doorbell, or DLing, doorbell connects over WiFi and can be installed in the Mi Home APP to show you a live feed when your doorbell is being rang.
The doorbell is battery powered, it has a 104˚ wide angle lens and a built-in speaker and microphone for 2-way communication and it has a ring of infrared lights to operate in the dark.
Despite what I have read online, it's actually not waterproof. - However, I do think it can be used outdoors when it's having a bit of shelter but doing so is entirely at your own risk.
It can record 1280x720P videos and automatically takes a photo when the doorbell is pressed. Additionally, it can also be set up to detect someone knocking on the door which is pretty cool.
Optionally you can also buy a speaker that is paired with the doorbell that will ring the doorbell sound which could be great if you have a very large home. But with smart home automation rules you could also set up a rule that the Xiaomi, or Aqara, gateway plays a doorbell sound when the doorbell is being pressed.
You can also enable a motion detection function that could send you a push notification when it detects motion, however, this will use some more battery.
It comes with a small removal-detection screw on the side of the doorbell which can alert you when removed, and it can detect unnatural movements to alert you as well.
It works very well with the all-new Xiao-Ai touchscreen speaker. This smart speaker, with display, can automatically show the live feed of the doorbell camera when the doorbell is pressed. This could be very convenient so you don't have to open up the APP.

when I was in china and 23... and everyone (in the west) says I looked younger... a chinese man asked how old I was - I said guess - he said 40? so the facial recognition algorithms probably work in the same way here

Had mine for 6 months, works fine but there is a delay from button push to notifications. Battery life is not great, couple of months then have to replace, depends on how busy the door traffic is , might try switching of motion detection and just use sour press to see if they last longer, no low battery warning, so watch thus video and then thought, I haven’t had any door notifications in a while, checked app and battery was low. Voice volume if you record your own reply is low, the pre recorded ones are louder, so if you live on a busy road it’s not great, Chinese voice reply is not what your uk Dpd driver will expect though it made him laugh. Speaker is loud!!!

imin a maybe ur doing something wrong, i have first a xiaomi hub, then i buy the Aqara hub for homekit support, and i was able to install all my xiaomi devices with the Aqara hub ....

imin a i have door and window sensors, motion sensors a button, fire sensors, temperature and humidity sensors and some yeelights, all this work fine with both hubs. I also have mi air purifier and water purifier. U must pay attention that wifi devices use the mi app but don’t need a hub ex. Air purifier, robot vacuum, lights, light strips etc, does will not use the mi hub or the aqara hub

I think the delay might be caused because of using it in a different territory as this only connects using the China server. As I am back in China again it's hard for me to replicate the same situation as you have. Battery life depends on the settings in the APP I think, I have a friend that does not have the motion detection enabled and its battery is still doing alright. Another friend has the motion detection enabled whilst his neighbors are renovating and having people walk in and out 100 times per day and his battery is draining a lot faster, so that might be something to look into. Also the WDR function might drain the batteries a lot more as well. Hope that helps :)

I have this doorbell for some while now.... The annoying thing is that when you receive the message someone is ringing. The person is already gone and live view has been shut down. So some lots of room for improvements there. Image quality is great and battery runtime also. I dont have the precense sensor on and other gimmicks. I guess the bell rings 10 times a week. Batteries are 4 months old and 3/4 full.

Hi. First of all, thx for all the amazing video. I just got the door bell and try to connect with my Touch Screen Ai Speaker, but it's not working. And there's no option to choose for the speaker to pick up from the door. On the speaker, when I go to Mi Home and choose the door bell it said something like "it's temporary not working". Do u have same problem or just me? 😔 And I dunno why, when I press the bell, it takes about 30 seconds to alert my phones (iPhone and Android), simply the video live view, I can never come enough time to use it. Appreciate ur sharing about the matter. Thx

The doorbell rings when someone pushes the button but nothing else is working, notifications worked for 2 or 3 days then stopped, also all the automations that I have setup to be triggered by the doorbell are no longer working. I can see the doorbell in the app and it says that the internet/wifi connection is 'good' .. any advice for me?

Battery life is very bad when motion detection system is used. Say 3 days max!! if you turn it off, then 3 weeks. Using it for 2 months now.

Exactly like Surender says. Motion detection, as well as WDR settings, in the APP will have an influence on the battery life. If your camera has tonnes of people walking by per hour the battery will surely drain a lot more because of the motion detection. -Hope that helps :)

That depends on the strength of your router. -I can run a test to see if it works across the street for example, but it will still depend on your router setup as well.

Sonny Gallagher completely agree with you. I used to swear by Xiaomi products. Their quality is fantastic but what they did with the Dafang cameras unfortunately put me off any of their Chinese market smart products.

I'm actually looking on using this as somekind of intercom for 2 houses that is a km apart. But I didnt expect that the speaker park is only 50meters I thought is is connected to wifi and to the internet. Now if I want this to act like an intercom then I needed to buy a phone that the sole purpose is to act as speaker. And its not worth is anymore. Not to mention the doorbells battery is not built in lithium one.

finally the video came :) i have it for some time now... the build quality could be better. i immediately saw that the battery life on this thing is not good so i converted it and now i am using it with a power adapter. it is not hard and i recommend it for anyone who is able to do it. wifi signal could be better.... push notifications are way too slow. too bad that i can't turn on the video whenever i want it so that i could use it as an ip camera too. another disadvantage is that there is no automation for motion detection, since i wanted to turn some lights on every time the doorbell saw movement

Why not use a regular motion detection device for that? I mean this is a doorbell , cant do it all . Also for battery not sure why ur battery is going down so fast , i got mine for months now and still running well. For push notifications i agree, its quite slow, but with the extra door bell speaker its fast, again this device is a doorbell not sure if we should expect it to do everything perfectly

@@whennn when you have the hardware.... it is stupid not to use it. i want to have my doorbell outside. since it can detect motion and so some things.... they could simply add an option in automation. why should i stick another motion detection device on my door when the doorbell has motion detection? the extra doorbell speaker is fast but when you are not home or... if you want to see who is at the door.... they have pressed the button like 2-3 times already.

Hi @xiaomify i didnt see an automation option about unlocking xiaomi door lock, if doorbel detect known face. the second doorbell (more expensive with tablet) has this feature. can you check pleasE?

Right now it is not possible to unlock the Xiaomi doorlock with this doorbell. (Which I personally am quite happy about TBH, for safety reasons) The Looock doorbell (which I am reviewing soon) does seem to do this but as far as I could tell only with the Looock doorlock, so you'd really need to have both. I am personally not a big fan of this concept, but I'll try it out soon. (Although I don't have a Looock doorlock... Just the camera/doorbell unit)

did you duys also experience live view ain't working anymore after firmware update to 0.1.18_5827? live view worked for a moment until this auto firmware update was applied? is there any way to downgrade? also automation rules have a delay of about 5 seconds. which DNS server did you guys set? (I'm from germany and use 8.8.8.8) light bulby i.e. only could be set up with this dns, but then my bathroom downlights couln't be set up (not working right now :/) - could this be a reason?

of course it is, they just dont say its completely waterproof to avoid lawsuits etc. i have 2 non xiaomi doorbells now that arent waterproof and they have been fine in all weather.

This doorbell can’t be use as an IP camera and only speaks in Chinese . Can’t save any videos unless you pay for the cloud services. Only China timezone. Better just buy any Xiaomi IP cam and you can use that as a video doorbell. I set one up using Aqara wireless button with the Mijia gateway to ring when the button is pressed, wake up the IP cam, and to send me a notification to my phone. All you need to do is open the camera and use the intercom feature to speak and listen. Try to get a cam that has a duplex intercom.

Wrong. They give you FREE lifetime cloud recording service. You didn't know? And what do you mean by "only speaks in Chinese"? It chimes when being pressed, anybody can understand that. If you are talking about the optional and experimental pre-recorded voice greetings, they give you to option to record your own voice in ANY language.

Well i have one now, got it for £43 used on ebay with the chime included, pretty good deal. Very advanced features for a bargain price. Edit to add - don't buy this. Batteries run out in a day, I'm getting rid of it. 4 AA batteries is nowhere near enough when it records videos every few minutes of plants waving in the wind. Heap of junk.

I use it for 10 days now outside, and it runs out my battery entirely. I have enabled human motion detection, but it is recording everything, not only humans; that's why it consumed my whole battery in just 10 days. It is recording cars and lights all day even when I changed the interval to 60s, I only managed to make it recording every 2 mins. Does anyone know how I can avoid that? I would like to get a push notification every time that someone is in my door, but I don't want to change batteries every 10 days. One more annoying feature is that if I disable motion detection, then I am losing live view when someone is ringing the doorbell.

Hello Can you give information about the connection speed. While the phone and the doorbell are not connected to the same wifi network, the video call process can be started from the phone after how many seconds the bell is pressed.

Are you serious Xiaomi, a two pin Chinese connection again? What's the point in opening Xiaomi stores throughout Europe and then offering us in Europe no compatible plug types on your Gateways and Speakers? Their is no reason Xiaomi couldnt have offered international clip-on type plugs for our regions like many companies do. Having to use Chinese style plugs with adapter's is bollocks, it looks shit hanging off your wall socket and it's not particularly safe either.
