Questions have risen about setting the bandwidth as well as 2nd menu options and where to find them for cw, sidetone and pitch and more. I did this quick video to show you how to find these and what they do. Remember this radio f/w is still a work in progress and updates will be coming forward as we progress.

If you are tuning on CW with 1k step then you can easily miss some signal in between as Ou have just 100 spots while tune thru band... try 100 or 10Hz steps. Good luck.

Fred. If you get into settings and can't remember what ya did, is a way to sit back factories settings. Just have to get one. From what I have been seeing on RU-vid it is outstanding. tnxs

I also find the bandwidth setting confusing. How do you determine what to use for the low and high settings besides the difference between them? Does the ability to define the low and high mean that this can be used as a type of IF Shift?

Dear Fred Very good Video... Adjusting the Bandwidth in CW you EXPLAINED very well. Is this in a simular way also possible in SSB if you want to operate DATA would be useful? Did u test the tuning range of the Tuner? Some in build ATU only are capable up to SWR of 2 or 3. Is the tuner in G90 capable to tune higher SWR?

Break-in delay can be set from 0 to 1 second in 100ms increments. However, the delay will never be less than 100 milliseconds because of the SDR signal processing latency, and so the G90 is not capable of full-break-in (QSK) operation.

Antenna tuner included - great! But... Still no notch filter? No noise reduction? No external waterfall display? Any new software update soon? m0nka + tuner still looks a better choice for me.

I would like to see this done when there was a solid QSO. Seems like it takes lot of effort to make adjustment. I understand the conditions weren't perfect. SO, thank you for the demonstration.

The way you set the bandwidth on this radio is going to be confusing to a lot of hams. It looks like a neat little radio. What I really did not like was the pan adapter. WHY? I watched you tune in two CW signals. I never saw them on the pan adapter. So what's the point of the pan adapter? Barry, KU3X/QRP

WRT to the FFT display, he needed to reduce the threshold using the multi-function knob. The signal level shown in the spectrum display was maxed out, and the waterfall was overloaded. Reducing the threshold would lower the spectrum trace to the bottom of its window, with signals showing up as spikes. It would also make the waterfall display dark (blue) with signals showing up light (yellow or white).

@VE3FAL1_Fred how stable is this radio, does it cause interference on nearby radio stations or does it interfere with tv or radio inside your own, or your neigbors, house?

Simon I find the radio very stable and to this point I have not noticed any interference on tv or radio. I only run internet for netflix etc so no cable or sat TV. But it has not bothered my routers at all that I have noticed. Fred

Is it just me, or do the high and low BW settings seem backwards? I would expect the low to adjust the left skirt and high to adjust the right.

Yeah, me too .... unless BW is on the lower sideband in CW and upper in CWR .... then low and high being backards would make sense (?)

Wow that is tough to answer, only because with band cdx as they are QRP could be frustrating. The X5105 is nice and true qrp and tuner works very well, the G90 is a super radio but needs a few upgrades for better cw. But the 20w is nice if you need that little extra boost. Fred, I'm thinking of getting one. Is the CE-19 included or extra? My income Tax has the right amount and I'll like to use my SCS-PTC tnc plus use a Soundcard for JS8Call etc.

Don get the CE-19 as it may be useful for your setup, others are running the unit without it but trying to get levels correct has been the issue....73 Fred

Do the buttons illuminate on the G90 ? they look like they should .

This radio is crap and it's about to go back to MFJ. Tried to update the firmware following the Chinglish instructions and ended up bricking the radio. You get what you pay for! Avoid Chinese junk unless you are a hard core experimenter and extremely patient.

Well i got a icom radio and it broke in 5 weeks Dam japan radios. You get what you pay for! i whent to update the firmware on my PC and it crapped out had to send the motherboard back.. DAM MSI!!! things happen maybe its you maybe its the radio...????
