Another reason you need that post training is that you need to power to come from the lower body, but also the spine. I think I took for granted how much power gets lost between the shoulder and the hips even when you have a strong stance. Definitely worth working on to really make sure you have that right structure.
there is no blocks and gyaku tsuki only means opposite fist to lead leg, Adam is showing here the concept of energy transfer through the base (not basic) structure of san ti shi with "pi"-jin meaning splitting energy adding the "idea" of horse in this case meaning forward split with lateral and axial circling (raking) while going off centerline, i´m not sure if his other hand raking the spine is considered horse and pi could be another element and/or animal
Hey Adam I've got a question if you were to punch Christmas solar plexus when he was flexing his muscles what is still affect Chris because Chris is big he's probably got a lot of muscle tissue in his abdomen
Depends how you mean. Is Chris standing there flexing and expecting a strike to the solar plexus? Is there a leading move that gets him off balance, thus making him unconsciously loosen the muscles and/or leave himself open? Is it with a fist, gloved fist, or knuckle fist? I never believed in the knuckle fist (called phoenix eye fist by some) until this Korean master tapped me in the solar plexus with it. It goes between the muscles and the spot was sore for days. Again, I thought there was some trick so my friend had me try it on him. Just a tap when he was flexed and expecting it, but it gets through. Not as easy to hit the target as when you have a gloved fist, but someone who has been conditioning their body can take a lot of direct hits to the solar plexus if they can tense up and have the force dispersed across a wider striking surface.
