this is a very modern video for this music this album was huge where i was brought up in south africa, in the 70's. quite sure i could be one of their backing singers to this day. you had to have this album and the Rodriguez album
@@jarodcrazyindianSo your ethnicity is Indian from India? Old pal Columbus mistake the native populace of the Americas for Indians from India. OP had it right the first time, we are Native American, all 500+ years of it.
The Rock Blues Band "Savage Resurrection" (all Indian band) from Chiloquin Oregon toured with Xit & Redbone in the 70's. Xit, Redbone & Savage Resurrection each had their own style of "Rez" music. The message was all related. The last show on the tour was in WhiteSwan Washington, (Yakima Nation) Thousands of people attended. Amazing show!
Totally agree, it's the beat of a native drum. Not sure who all the band members were with the exception of Tom Bee. I love here in Albuquerque, NM. I believe Tom also has a residence here. He was born Sioux but grew up in Gallup, NM in the Navajo Culture.
We r so strong people. I remember when I was young and I got the first taste of discrimination with my Mom. N I was soooooo sad. But now I know that we all bleed the same? My prayer to Creator that we all just love each other ❤️ in these times.
Me too...I grew up listening to XIT and Redbone. Saw Redbone live in concert in my home town Barcelona (Spain) in 1973. Both bands are considered like terrorist in USA .Lukely in Europe THEY WERE VERY SUCCESSFUL. SILENT WARRIOR AND THE WITCH QUEEN OF NEW ORLEANS.GREETINGS FROM SPAIN 2024
Damn this is awesome I’m Mexican but before the Spanish my people where the Nahuatl which consisted of Aztec, Mayan and Incan not sure which I’m descended from specifically but either way I’m a Native and proud
@@midvalleyphreak4499People always got something negative to say. You probably don't even know him, just shit you heard from someone else. Besides, the other members probably blew all their cash partying. Ppeople are here to enjoy the music.
Cree woman that grew up off the Reserves in Canada, with hardly any help. Awesome song with what's going on up here. Our women need more protection, protocols need to be changed on the Rez's. 🐺✌
WOW. I have never heard of this band til I discovered them on YT just now. Very powerful music, I think I have found another Native American favorite next to the music of Redbone!
Found this on vinyl last year here in Maine. My great grandfather was from St. Francis, Canada. He migrated to the US at age 18. St. Francis was where they had a French Catholic enclave. Too bad our current Governor won’t sign anything recognizing tribes here, quelle surprise, been trying since the late 1980’s. Thanks for posting. 🦅
The movie is "Thunderheart", by Michael Apted (1992). Back then in movie theaters, it was displayed preceded by the documentary "Incident at Oglala" (also by Michael Apted), which tells facts about American Indian Movement resisting ongoing colonization policies, and especially the case of Leonard Peltier.
Yes, but now the white has been here for a very long time and has even diluted our people's blood to where we aren't all the same color skin wise. Doesn't mean we won't still exist.
