XJ9 AND THE CAT | A Teenage Robot Short Fan Film 

To answer all the questions of "why is Jenny homeless?", "where are her friends and family?", "what happened?", etc.: This is a prequel! :D Nora has been arrested after Skyway discovered that she had a secret underground laboratory where she builds robots, and XJ9 is on the run in danger of being shut down if found. You can watch the story in our rough animatic that we uploaded here on RU-vid a few years back!

This is how a reboot of the show should look like ITS SO GORGEOUS it would work perfect

The amount of dedication this team has is absolutely insane

XJ9 has more humanity in her big titanium heart than the entirety of Tremont

This animation almost feels like a sort of look in the future for Jenny many years after the series. Like I always wondered if her mom ever died what would Jenny really do? Her friends are much older, the world is changing fast and life as she remembered is far gone

How is it that one scene with no dialogue from a fan made short had more heart that half of the new shows out in kids entertainment?

If this is what the full fan series is going to look like, I'm excited.

OMG THE ART DECOR STYLE TRANSLATES SO WELL INTO HD. Amazing work. So worth the wait. The animation is so fluid! Edit: That cat tongue licking its lips after it hisses is such a cute detail.

You know there's something both cute and funny that a highly armored metal super weapon can view any little thing like a cat or a little girl as a threat when we all know she's basically indestructible. Also maybe I'm reading to deep into this but can Jenny feel? It seem like she was as feeling the cat on her hand and body which again are metal.

This is brilliant. It feels like an opening to a MLAATR origin movie.

She looks as beautiful as the day she left 😭😭😭❤️❤️, please continue continuing this 🙏🙏✨

This looks like one of those nostalgic cartoon shows that becomes a movie reboots. The detail is incredible.

This would be an AMAZING official reboot! It would've been nice to know more of Jenny's future or an alternate MLAATR timeline or a what if scenario, even if it's a sad life. It's so nice that you all are putting so much care to this!

That was beautiful. I give so much props to the animators who put this together, they really created something amazing. It was very cute too for that matter. This clearly shows you guys clearly have more love and passion for the Teenage Robot franchise than Nickelodeon could ever have. So amazing! You captured the style of the original PERFECTLY! I'm guessing Jeeny was put in status with her memories wiped clean, only to wake up in a post-apocalyptic/crapsack future where she is trying to remember who she is and rediscover the world around her. That would be a cool reboot idea.

After checking your other videos, all my memories came back because i was one of the people who waited the Reboot back in 2015!! I started to obsess with the series due to a nostalgia moment as i used to watch the series as a kid, and i stumbled across your reboot series. I waited and waited and waited... until i eventually moved on and forgot about it. It was also a bad timing as i was moving out at the time. After 9 years, i came back and saw this animation after it appeared on my Twitter feed.

Everything about this is beautiful.

Well done to everyone apart of this project. It was nice meeting the director (thank you for telling me this came out at momocon by the way). This was well done, and I feel like with this way of story telling and direction of show and not tell ( Reminds me of the S1 Ep.7 of Samurai Jack on how they didn't use any voice, just sound to tell most of the episode) can be interesting and exciting to see more of ! I'm looking forward to what you guys do next!

This was beautifully done! Seeing Jenny all alone in the rain like that honestly tugged at my heartstrings but at the same time it was so heartwarming when the cat relaxed around her. Also love how faithful this was to the original show's style and it's easy to see how this was such a love letter to the franchise. Again, beautifully done!

Amazing! This reminds me of those scenes in Genndy Tartakovsky’s cartoons, where there is absolutely NO dialogue. Just beautiful music, sound effects and incredible animation!
