And people will still continue to be killed from other breeds. Rottweilers, German shepherd's, Chow Chows, Mastiffs, Cane Corso, Doberman, Huskies. The higher percentage of bully attacks is from lockdown when everyone wanted one. They were the latest thing.
Just banning a specific breed doesn’t stop the risk of dog attacks these irresponsible dog owners will just change which dog they own/breed, German Shepherd’s, Cane Corso etc
@noidacus - Change the record! Of course there are irresponsible owners but these dogs are genetically more dangerous than others. That is a plain hard fact - backed by the available evidence.
A bit late, people have died. Owning a powerful dog, requires special dog handling skills, which clearly many owners of this breed of dog, did not have.
Actually for most it doesn't.Most are easy just like many other breeds and these were bred to be family pets companion dogs.Originally from a none game Pitbull and a show Pitbull the Staffordshire terrier no fighting dogs were used in the make up of this dog then bulldogs were bred in too. They were never bred for fighting or quard work.Thats a fact it's uneducated people spouting BS who have no clue. Most are lovely dogs.

Exactly! My sister owned a pit bull and he was one of the sweetest dogs we ever had in our family, he treated his little cockapoo sister like gold when she was a puppy. My sister and her ex-boyfriend trained him so well, and because of that, he helped a close friend of mine overcome her fear of big dogs. He would run off occasionally, but we were always able to find him and bring him home. All domesticated animals deserve a chance to find a good home and the training they need to be the best versions of themselves, and I’d give anything to learn how to be a great trainer to any dog, cat, or other domesticated animal so I could raise them up right!
My neighbours little rat is a nasty piece of work but it’s not surprising as it’s got a terrible & lazy owner. Proof it’s the idiot at the other end of the lead and not the dog.
But the ‘little rat’ cant put someone in a hospital with life threatening injuries and will run away when it knows its outclassed, unlike pitbulls and bullies who keep attacking even after being literally stabbed. Say it with me - Subjective experience doesn’t beat hard facts!
Funny, I rescued my bully from an abusive home didnt buy her, got her as a puppy from people who were abusive. most people dont get them to look "intimidating" they are nice dogs, dont speak if u have no experience handling them
@@delinquent6241you're wrong. Any dog over 35kg is intimidating. My boerboel is 88kg he's sweet but everyones scared of him because he's an 88kg boerboel bred for defending farms from lions.
Another rubbish piece of legislation. The problem is NOT the dogs, it is the OWNERS. Those same bad owners will now simply adopt a different breed of dog and over time will get that breed demonized as well. I don't own an XL but I do know a couple and they are perfectly balanced dogs. That is because the ones I know are owned by perfectly balanced owners. The law should be banning dangerous PEOPLE from owning dogs and NOT banning dogs because some people are morons.
@Ardwick-Crome when the government want to ban something the media will search the country for every dog bite or attack by that breed. If they wanted to ban German Shepherd's or Pomeranian's you'd see a wave of headlines about them too.
They announce they might ban the dogs… all of a sudden all bully’s have gone mental and attacking people left right and centre…. And then they got banned… suspicious
Ban all dangerous dogs. I want to walk freely in london parks. One day, I was afraid of bulldog while I was walking in the park because owner freed his bulldog. It is unacceptable because bulldog could attack me.
At least they are finally differentiating between countries now. When they first talked about the ban they presented it as "Sunak to ban XL Bullys in the UK" when it doesn't apply to Scotland or Northern Ireland.
Like a car license you must take lessons in dog care and training to a test also every person must have an insurance that not only covers the dogs health but public liability . Dog breeders should be subject to random visits and check ups by authorities and should be taxed in accordance to the costs.
staffies are better than them one time at a party i was having an OD wee guy never left my side all night not sure if these bully xls would do the same
About time! The sheer size and capabilities of these dogs makes them too much of a risk to be in public: coupled with their incredible tolerance for pain, they are near impossible to stop. This breed along with some of the large mastiffs like the Cane Corso and Presa Canario are totally unsuitable for suburban living, as are many the livestock guardians like the Kangal. The dangerous dog act must be revised to encompass more of these breeds.
Those were already banned. Backwards logic I know, but bullies are already banned and have been since the 90's. For some bizarre reason XL ones were fine though. Until now I guess.
This ban should have had more warning and carried out a long time ago. Get ready for an influx of abandoned dogs on the streets and vet glorifying in putting them to sleep. Even the shelters won't be able to take them for rehoming. More pups have been allowed to be born because of this delay.
Classic example of dog owners not taking responsibility for their dog. People should have to qualify for a license to have a dog amd carry insurance just like a car
this is wrong in so many ways!!! i hate the way this country has gone!!!! i hope people start leaving, this is discusting!!!!! i hate this country i am so shamed!!!
Has anybody looked at the UK Governments/Defra conformation standard for XL bullies? Most mastiff type dogs can be argued to be an XL bully. Scary times for large breed owners.
For example all terriers can be potentially dangerous towards vulnerable ones, due to theirs natural strong prey instincts. If people could get more research and knowledge about each breed they own, we could be able avoid all these accidents that dogs are involved. Also, question if statistically XL bullies are the biggest number of fatal accidents, is that is because they are usually handled by wrong people? Lack of knowledge, too much ignorance is a great recipe for disaster.
Wrong they are culling all of them as a type so guess what all American bully sizes and all bulldogs, staffs , mastiff’s will be at risk. On Gov it stats even if the dog isn’t of height it it has a big head, wrinkles and is muscular then it’s a XL type . Donate to the legal team and we will get the ban over turned
So specific variants of one species can act in a very different way from other variants as a matter of biology? Wonder if that applies to any other species.
BS most these dogs are spot on its people that have no clue demonize a whole breed .The only way they are dangerous is if they are inbred are trained to be dangerous or there was an underlying cause.
Well now I see the difference between other countries in the UK, they are just non-suitable for most big dog breeds, other countries on the other braiding this breed for the right way, and owning them correctly, which the people in the UK is completely the opposite
@craigw7136 Yes, I agree they often end up muzzled up in prison. I feel for the dogs, but if they are a dangerous unpredictable breed, it is what it is
@naomi5893 I've seen at first hand someone attacked by his own two American Pitbulls around 10 years back. All he was doing was walking them and snap! he's very lucky to be alive it shocked me and even gave me a few sleepless nights
This is disgraceful. What about all the responsible owners, are they going to have their pets taken away? What's going to happen to the pets if they are taken away ... it doesn't bear thinking about!
The responsible owners like us dont matter, due to a small minority that is being expressed onto us majority who actually take care of our dogs. They wont do the same for the littler breeds that literally attack me n my dog everytime we walk down the street. its actual bonkers.
@@Shadrach666You cannot compare a dog breed to a handgun. What a bizarre comparison. As someone who works with dogs, smaller dogs tend to be more aggressive than larger dogs, which may mean that they are more likely to bite. Some of the reasons for this temperament could be that these dogs feel they have to be aggressive in order to protect themselves, whereas larger breeds feel more confident.
Lol I love UK but why ban specific breed of dogs all dogs can bite even the smaller ones but I agree that these dogs must not be owned by first time dog owners here in my country Philippines there's no ban breed of dogs
Poor Chien, fed animal medicine by the vet...now the small dogs will be put to sleep by the vet also...Laura and Geert are beautiful, just like their Chiens... beautiful Donkers...dogs or donkeys...ah, named by the vet!!
