This is freaking awesome. XM SATELLiTE Radio used to be the absolute best source of music and talk radio. Once they merged with Sirius, it was pretty much over. SiriusXM is nothing but bean counters and shareholders looking to constantly add more pointless channels instead of keeping a tight line up and free up the bandwitch to allow for higher quality playback. The music channels went from 112kbps - 128kbps down to sub 64kbps bit rates. I guess the quality is even worse if you're using a Sirius receiver vs using an XM receiver. I have an XM receiver in my Escalade and I can't imagine the quality getting any worse. The executives at XM pre-2008 actually gave a shit about creativity and freedom of speech too. I prefer satellite radio to streaming music on my phone cause I lose cell service pretty frequently out in the boonies but I still get a clear signal from SiriusXM. Oh well, at least it's pretty cheap these days if you know how to haggle.
It was meant to broadcast SiriusXM channels from coast to coast. One satellite broadcast from the east coast and the other broadcast from the west coast.
6:34 "No fading." but if you go through say... the HRBT or... a tunnel in the Smokies... it will DEFINITELY fade (unless whatever tunnel you pass through has a "leaky feeder" that retransmits satellite radio broadcasts)...
