The ending was fine. There is no happily ever after in high school, for gods sake. Russell discovered himself and was totally way ahead of the game. If this was real life, Kevin would find himself too at some point when he's ready. It doesn't always happen by 17. And awesome that it's set in South Pasadena, CA

They were cute together and there was some room for some major character development. However, I believe Russell was better off at this point in time. Russell was at a point to where being out was the best thing for him. Also, Kevin was always teasing his interests (being smart, the trip, the geography club, etc) and even told him not to be such a chick and called him a kiss-ass. Even worse was the fact he wasn't even comfortable with Russell being around his family who was already accepting of gays. His only real redeeming scene in my eyes was when he left to retrieve and comfort Russell in the middle of the night. He loved Russell but they weren't meant to be at that time, if at all.
Too bad this is not the full film! I wish I could watch the full film, for free. If not on YT, then on some other site instead. If only I knew the right url!
