We have a new setup for getting into a tree for the 2022 season.
New to the stick and hang on method so check out how quickly we adapt to the XOP system and some tips and tricks that we have already leaned to make the process even easier. 12 to 14 min. setup time, in a tree and ready to hunt.

Thanks for the information myself I’m a bigger guy and older so with a little practice this looks manageable

Highly recommend some sort of mechanical ascender device such as a Ropeman 1 on a lineman’s belt. So much easier than a prusick knot

Thanks for the advice!! Will def. look into that. After using for a full season now, that was something I have been wanting to change up for sure!! We appreciate your support

Great video! You do it like a pro dude ! Awesome idea to hang stand on safety strap so your hands are free ! Where did you get the black bag you wear on your belt? Also how long can you sit comfortably on that seat? Is it a half day stand or all day?

Helllo fellow normal sized humans. I too, am normal sized hovering between 250-260. Lol. Not as agile or nimble, as I once was. Came across this video because I'm venturing into the XOP, lightweight stand. Not so much because I' mobile, but more so because I'm now 48 and I'm tired. I'm tired of packing 5 ft long steeladders and a 20 pound steel hang, and then hanging on for dear life while trying to balance and getting tangled in the numerous straps, all while gravity is pulling my ass down Gravity is relentless to normal sized guys. My grip and arm strength can't compete anymore. Lol. Normally, I'll hang my set right after turkey season ends. However, the property I've hunted for the past 40 years, holy crap,I'm getting old, will probably be sold when the land owner passes.. so I'll be journeying into unchartered, for me, territory in the next upcoming seasons. This video gives me hope. You guys made this entertaining, informative, and have made me feel good about having a lightweight, easy to use gear/ setup. Thank you.! I subscribed and look forward to more of your videos. I'll be getting the bigger xop stand, airaid I believe, and now that I've seen the "2-step" variants in use, and their packability, by real hunters, not paid advertisers. Or skinny Minnie marathon built athletes,I'm sold on this setup. Thanks again. Being normal sized definitely has some disadvantages... but I'd rather be a little bigger. If the average person can survive 30 days without food... I should be good for 40.. maybe 45 days. 🤣😂. Enjoy your evening and thanks again for a great review, how-to video that I can actually relate to. 👍👍

When you raise the platform to get that bite against the tree raise the seat up as well. You’re not getting the full bite if your seat is down. That will make it more snug to the tree

I must have this. Guess it's time to give up my climber. 😮 Great video! Even tho it cost me so much money. 😂

Awesome video. Thank you. In the same boat. Just ordered the XOP saddle/platform combo and will be using it this season. Don't get me wrong, I love my Summit climber, but hunting public land, I wanted that mobility factor. Hopefully it will pay off.

If you get on the top of the stick when you are hanging your next one, place the next step about knee high and it will be spaced about as far as you can comfortably climb

Also don't tighten the bottom strap before you set it hard. I usually use the "toe hook" method to get a solid set and don't even worry with the bottom cam strap. For reference I'm about 260# so not like I'm a light, nimble fella.

Super informative thank you! Ok. You're all gonna think I am a total wus. But here goes.... I want to get into hunting from a hang on for mobility sake on public land. I currently hunt out of a Summit Viper and this next thing isn't an issue. I am super afraid of heights. I feel like sitting there with nothing around me like a rail, is gonna be scary AF. Any of you experience this and if so, how did you get over it?
@ItsDEER30
@ItsDEER30 9 месяцев назад
I still use my Viper and yes, I know what you’re talking about as far as having a since of security by having the rails of the frame around you while you are up in the tree, and I would be lying if I said it did not take some getting used to once I moved to just standing on a platform all day but after a couple of sits you get used to it! I am just confident in my safety line setup and don’t really think about it anymore. The biggest thing I miss when hunting out of my hang-on, is the comfort of the adjustable seat!! LoL Just having a seat that’s right up against the tree trunk is definitely less comfortable, especially on long sits! But is worth it when packing in long distances.

Thanks for the info. So you are saying I need to man up and just climb and sit for a while and get used to it. Will do! @@ItsDEER30

I had a big fear of heights when I first started and I would climb 10-12 ft high stands and be scared shitless and after I climbed up a stand 20 ft up on my buddy’s farm I have been fine with heights ever since it just takes getting used to for sure but having the safety equipment gives me a sense of confidence so I don’t get scared

Thanks for this. I have been out in the yard "practicing". Climbing up 6-10 feet, setting up my safety gear and standing facing away from the tree. Sitting there for a while. Standing for a while and moving around. Been doing that over and over. I plan on moving up to 15 feet this weekend and doing the same thing. Just gradually breaking down the fear. I am completely good with 10 feet now, but even that was rough the first time I stood up and faced away from the tree. Like you said, I think a lot of it is confidence in the stand itself and the safety gear. Getting there. Thanks!@@HadynRothvlogs

@@ItsDEER30alright thanks, I found it on there. What kind of ropes are you using? Sorry for all the questions I just never hunted like this. Always been on the ground either behind some brush or a blind and a ladder. Ladder with no rope (stupid i know.)

30lbs? Wow, my ol man climbing stand only weighs 20lbs
@ItsDEER30

That’s with all my gear, including video equipment, camera arm, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I like my Viper, but it’s so big and gets caught up on everything when I’m trying to get deep into the thick stuff. This XOP setup is a much slimmer profile and can get through those tight spots better than I could with my climber.

@@allensmith8746I just sold my viper because it was heavier, louder, clunky and got snagged on everything. Also got sick of never being able to find a perfectly straight tree. Hang on & Saddles are much better.
