This is a great stand, period! It's lightweight, climbs easy ru-vid.comUgkxlQ7TDIrnnSXXbRgFFaxqwullRJJIuYAs and feels solid while in the tree. The seat is easy to fold up for climbing and sits comfortably for long days in the woods. The only downside I have is that it might be too comfortable, but I like napping in the tree anyway. This is the second Summit Viper I have owned. The old one is steel making it heavier, but this aluminum version is about 9-10 lbs lighter. I recommend buying a better fall harness as the one included is clunky and not super comfortable. I think it will work fine if you NEED to use it, but there are lots of other more comfortable options out there.

I’ve been running the summit open shot for years and I love the stand but as I’ve gotten older this looks like a good idea I really like the bar to sit on and folding out of the way because bow hunting is about all I do

Thanks for making this informative video. I'm still using an older Summit Goliath stand and really getting tired of how heavy it is when I walk at least a mile in and out. I will for sure be looking into buying one of these for next season.

Those lock mechanisms sure are noisy compared to the lone wolf climber

Just got this for Christmas! Mine came with the tree stand stabilizers too. I'm used to the lone wolf sit and climb wide that my bro in law has and this is nearly identical to it.

Man, about two weeks ago a picked up a Lone Wolf sit and climb for $75 at a moving sale. Came equipped with foot rests and perfect belts! Awesome find. On another note, I bought an XOP Vanish beginning of this season. And their color scheme is awesome. I know where it’s hanging, but even for me have to really look hard sometimes to locate it in the tree. Blends perfectly with the trees.

Definitely gonna pick one of these up and put the old API Grand Slam on the bench as a backup.

I love your honest reviews. I've never hunted with a belt type tree stand, only cables. I love the looks of this stand. Question: With the belt type stands like this one, do you normally climb pines or will it grip hardwoods as good too? This stand looks great.

Had the old lw climber that d'aquisto designed. The rubber bad is cool but very dangerous on wet trees from rain etc. You have to have weight toward end of platform.. Or u are doing down the tree. Did not see a way to secure or tie platform to the climber in case the base slipped from your feet. Thx for the review. I'm a lw guy...novix and new Vertical fixed.

Giving my review of the Xop climber I am 6.5f just over 300lb my height is in my torso. but the seat was quite small My thighs were touching. And. I love the design of the stand however I do wish they could get rid of the screw design and go with something else to be more quiet And seat was not as comfortable as I would like.! The platform, though was 100% spot on loved it the only concerned I may have is with the big winter boots

I am 48 years old and really the run and gun hang on is hard on me to do. most likely lack of experience but as of right now I don't see myself hanging and hunting the same day. So... this review is something i am considering. Also I am currently on public land hunts and am worried about my stand that's out there being stolen. With this set up it could go with me back and forth... would really appreciate some honest feedback. Thanks.

Think I’m finally going to order one of these. I’ll use your promo. I have a saddle setup and a couple of hang ons. I just hate dealing with climbing sticks when trying to hang and hunt. I had the XOP hand climber years back and I sold it. This looks a lot easier to climb with. Not really any other options in the market that fold flat. Also my saddle setup probably isn’t a whole lot lighter with sticks, platform, and my pack.

I have this stand, not a fan. Had the “hinges” on my first one seize, couldn’t get it to collapse flat. It was also “squeaky” while climbing the tree. Although their customer service is awesome, so I bought a vanish.

Is there nothing that attaches the bottom to the top?

I thought the platform stand specs were wrong until I checked their site. Sixteen inches wide is just too narrow, I think LW as 19”.

Great review of a great stand. The Lone Wolf sit & climb is similar however, I believe they are gone from the market. I put a Hazemore seat on mine, a truly awesome climber, best out there.

I mainly hunt from a Lone Wolf Assault hand climber. I was shocked to see they're not making them anymore! Makes no sense to me. A buddy of mine has a new Summit climber with cables & it folds to a convenient 20" LOL. No thanks! This XOP seems like a good alternative.

What would be impressive would be an affordable climber that you could adjust as you climb.... That would sell like crazy. Has to be affordable to compete with saddle and saddle gear.

As someone that hunts exclusively on public land and often hikes 1.5-2 miles a hunt. Climbers are just not realistic. You add 16lbs just for the climber, then your bow, then (when hunting colder weather) your outerwear, and then your pack of accessories (we all have something more whether that be food, water, rangefinders, gloves, the list goes on) you end up with 5 damn things strapped to that platform and weigh probably close to extra 30-50 pounds. Now not only is all of that shit surely strapped to that stand in whatever way you can figure out, but I can promise the load distribution is absolutely killer, and then.. ooooh and THEN, if you actually kill a damn deer!? Hahahaha you will most likely be hiking your ass back out of the woods to drop all of that shit off at your vehicle, but then you will be hiking your ass back in to pack out the deer you killed. It’s just not realistic for most people to be doing. The best way to hunt is mobile from the ground where you have done extensive scouting, and either pre guns some hang on stands in strategic locations, or built you some natural ground blind locations with dead fall, or at the least wear a ghillie suit and when you are going in “blind” to a location you just pay attention to your set up and try to “brush” yourself in when you find your spot.
