The RC booster has been a fixture on the boards of players that desire the cleanest boost money can buy, and the V2 is an upgrade in all respects. The RCB-V2 adds a second channel of pure clean gain, and Xotic has thoughtfully included a second footswitch to toggle between Gain channels. Now, you can set both Gain 1 and Gain 2 to different levels and change them with a press of a switch while retaining your EQ settings. With up to 20dB of pure boost, you can push even the stoutest amps into natural overdrive without coloring your sound. The master volume at lower settings even allows for light overdrive at bedroom levels. The EQ section of the RC Booster is a two-band Baxandall type that provides a 15 decibel boost or cut of guitar focused frequencies. Depending on the settings, this allows anything from a deep EQ scoop to a substantial frequency boost of Bass, Mids or Treble. For a completely flat EQ response, leave the Bass and Treble at noon and use the Gain knobs to punish your amp in the cleanest way possible. Players running the RC at the end of their signals have prized it for its high headroom and that has been retained, with some extra headroom available by running the RC at 18 volts.
