I appreciate the effort you put in to make a first class video. There is nothing better than seeing equipment compared against each other on targets in the wild. Well done!
Honestly thank you for this comment as it was a large amount of effort but as I’ve said before, even if it helps out just one person than it’s all worth it. Really appreciate the comment 👍👍
I've just ordered the 13 inch coil and have been doing a bit of "youtubing" to find some reviews on it. I have the 9 inch coil and love it but need something that can cover more ground as I mostly detect on open pasture. This review is honestly the best I've seen so far. Instant subscribe.
Thanks Pete! Glad it helped you out. I wanted to do a real life kind of comparison with this video as like you I always watch reviews before purchasing something and I prefer to see it in action rather than on a test bed. Don’t forget I have a discount code on my channel if you’re in the Uk. Good luck with your new coil, you will love it 👍👍
Again grate video very helpful as I’m just about to upgrade from my Nox 600 have been leaning toward the Deus11 over the nox900 but seeing that Edward penny come up for that deep in that dry ground I’ve absolutely made my mind up not only on detector but coil Choice as well. So thank you for putting in the hard work making this video and helping a very indecisive relatively newbie make such a big decision👍 keep up the good work
Glad you found it useful. It was a crazy amount of effort but even if it helped just you out I consider it all worth while. Crazy that Eddie coin came out that deep isn’t, even I’m still shocked! If you are in the market for a Deus use my code and you will get a great deal 👍👍
I have a nox 600, a 900 and a deus 1. Out of all of them my 600 is the better machine in my view, dont sell it yet, i pull it out when the other 2 dont seem to be performing..
I bought the machine with a 9" coil. Just purchased the 13 for the beach covering more ground with every sweep. As you I noticed picking up more signals at the end of a sweep. I quit like the 13" but still learning.
Great purchase buddy. I have been using the 13” allot recently and I’m finds rate has gone up for sure. I tend to switch to the eleven halfway through the door to save my arm 💪👍👍
I like the way your reward was built into your testing! You got some great finds there. I do think at least from my perspective with headphones on I heard the 13-in coil a bit better on a few of the targets than the 11 and I have both. Best of all I like the coverage of the 13".
That’s interesting Gary, I haven’t heard the audio through headphones so you will likely know more than me as to which one sounds better buddy. My finds rate has certainly Improved since owning the 13” I know that for that for sure. Thanks for commenting 👍👍
Great video. I've got the 11" and thinking about buying the 13".. I'd like the extra ground coverage. I do a lot of hours detecting and the extra coverage has got to help with finding more targets. Thanks for this 😊
@olafengelke6912 thanks for that. I've got the 11" with mine, never tried a larger one. I do have a vanquish 340, with a much smaller coil on. I have to say I prefer a bigger coin. If I get the 13" and it is too heavy I think I would just invest in a cheap harness to take some of the weight. Thanks for you help though 🙂 Happy hunting 😀
Great video, very impressive. I was always concerned about the stock programs not being deep enough, but wow, super deep coin find . Have you put together a test bed video at all with targets st different depths using your various programmes?
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed the video! I haven’t done a test bed video but I do have some very deep targets in the garden that I test with. The best test is out and about though 👍👍
Great comparison very interesting i only use the 9" coil as i am mostly in the water, but i am thinking of getting the 11" coil for the land as this would suit me a lot better than the 13" coil i cant see that there is much difference in depth between the 11" or 13" Great video and amazing finds well done👍see you on the Next
Hey Marty, can you imagine using the 13” under water… you’d be swept away with the currents in no time 😂 There wasn’t a massive difference in depth for sure but it has its place as you have proven with the 9”. Hope you’re well buddy 👍👍
9” is perfect for heavily polluted ground where you want to pick out targets between other ground noise and iron. It’s not the deepest but offers the best target separation. If your site is quiet and things are deep go with the 13 👍👍
Thanks for the comment. Looking back it was maybe a little “long winded” but if it helped people then it was mission accomplished. I’ll be doing another one soon depth testing the the 9,11 and 13 against each other 👍
Hey 👋 I was using the “Forager” program in this video. It is based on general. You should be able to find the video about the program on my channel. Thank you for watching 🎄👍
I wonder if the 11 is producing a better signal because it separates a little better just because of its smaller size? Maybe you had contamination around some of those more conductive targets.
Excellent video congrats on that beautiful Roman coin! I have been detecting a long time and Bought plenty of different coils big and small but in my opinion the stock coil on any metal detector is going to serve you just fine.
Yes I agree, middle of the road is always the safest option. I’ll be doing a video soon putting all 3 sizes against each other too so keep an eye open for that one. ATB 👍👍
Great vid and I absolutely love those tiny hammered coins. It's almost unbelievable that they can be found; great job indeed. So, what coil would you prefer for these kinds of hunts?
Hey buddy, thanks for commenting! At the moment I’m going in with the 13” and swapping half way with the 11”. If it’s a brand new permission I’ll tend to stick with the 13” as much as I can to cover the maximum amount of ground 👍
If you have money to burn get both as they both have their place however, if you’re on a budget just stick with the 11”. I did almost 7 hours with the 13” yesterday and my arm felt like it was going to fall off 😂👍
Hi Michael, great comparison test and well rewarded for it too. Although I'm still using the Deus 1 my go to coil is the 13inch unless i need the little hf coil. It does me well. I think your machine has bestowed a little knowledge on you that it thinks you now deserve. 😁😁👍👍 i also think that now you know what to listen for you'll get more surpising finds. Good hunting 🤞🤞👍👍
Hi Steve, thanks for watching and commenting! Nothing wrong with the Deus 1, still a great machine and in some ways still out classes the D2 IMO. If you have been using a Deus aslong as I have you start to really speak it’s language. Funny, I can understand a French metal detector but woman still confuse me 🤷🏻😂
Hey buddy, welcome to the channel. The program I used is called Forager. Search my channel for it and you will find it soon enough. Thanks for commenting, don’t be a stranger 👍👍
How is the balance on the 13 inch? For me, I think my decision would be based on ground covered more than the slight differences in sounds. The bigger coil does seem to go a bit deeper too. I would have dug all the same signals. I used a 13 with my Deus 1, but it seemed heavier and off balance toward the front. So, I used it part of the day, but by the afternoon I would switch to the smaller coil. Thank you.
Balance is good. It’s not different to not he original 13” coil however I never had a problem with balance on that machine. It helps if you get the stem length right while searching. I can swing it all day without an issue aslong as there is no resistance from long grass etc 👍👍
Salut 🙋♂️ Great video thanks for sharing🙂👍 Which program did you use? I have the smallest of the three discs. from the south of France the soil and very stony we rarely dig more than 30cm..but I will now dig more of its uncertain 😏 wonderful find congratulations 🙂
Forager program on this video my friend. That’s all I am using at the moment and only ever seem to adjust the sensitivity or the Freq adjust. Used you’re tip on the weekend about the “grab” which worked very well. (Video to come) thanks again 👍👍
That's great matey, really helpful - I'm getting closer to finally buying my Deus 2, so lots to think about... I'll prob. stick with the 11" FMF coil to begin with tho' 🙏 Cheers, Bobby 🐶
Hey Bobby, do it mate! Grab the 11” bundle and you won’t regret it. Feel free to use my code as well and you will get a great deal on it. Hope you’re well my friend 👍👍
@@OMA_MetalDetecting Hey thanks for getting back (& the advice). Yeah, I promised to use TMDC's code a while ago - but thanks for the offer, and of course will 'spread the love' over time... 🙏 B 🦔
Personally I think it’s worth owning all 3 coils as they all have a place in metal detecting. The 13 is great if you have short grass or you’re on ploughed and rolled or the beach. The 11 is the perfect all rounder and the 9 is great for getting into tight spaces on let’s say a stubble field or similar. In an ideal world you would use the 13 for everything but honestly that thing in stubble is just cumbersome and awkward. Hope that helps 👍👍
so how many inches away can your pinpointer detect the half penny, , without testing im guessing about 3" and yet you go down another 6", still even at 10-12 its great depth for the coin , thanks for the vidio.
That’s a great point you know Terry, I’ve never thought about that! The MI6 pin pointer will adjust its sensitivity depending on how close to the target you are so maybe that’s why it’s able to detect it so far on the ground. Great comment 👍👍
Hi was looking for a little help I have just got a Deus one and been watching your older videos and noticed a couple of programs you have done which one is better for total newbe to the Deus one many thanks for your help 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Sorry for the late reply!… it’s been a busy weekend. On my Deus the only programs I ever needed was Forager for ploughed land or beaches and Sondage for pasture. Those two programs alone found me tons of stuff and I think you will love them. If you need any more info feel free to reach out anytime 👍👍
@@darylcurtis7536 yeah they will both work very well with 6.0 and the X35’s. Just run them both at as nearer frequency as you can get to the ones in the program videos 👍
Input your Forager program to my WS6 Master last night Been to a Group Dig Today Sun 16/7 Stubble field used exclusively Great Program will now be my go to 👍
What surprised me was the fringe depth targets 10 to 12 inch deep giving good target numbers although I'm not a number man the sound and the numbers together correlated spot on and I all honesty I would have probably ignored so it's a game changing program for me 👍
@@nevillebrough9896 awesome to hear it. I find exactly the same with it. Only have to clip a target and boom it’s there! Also, if anything is remotely irony or broken leave it. Only dig the ones that are super clean (mid tone included) or over 73 👍👍
@@OMA_MetalDetecting I took a farthing at 8+ Yesterday reading 58 solid all Angles normally I would expect a button hope you don't mind I've passed prog and your RU-vid vids to other D2 and WS6 Master users on My Two Admin Groups 👍
Great idea buddy, I like it. Noted this one down on my “to do list” so stay tuned for that one. Thank you for watching commenting it’s very much appreciated 👍👍
XP should have kept the 13" coil circular not oval, because of the shape of an oval electromagnetic field it can never be as deep as a circular 13" coil. The shape of the EM field is oval rather than circular and is tapered as it goes deeper, and in my experience with the 13" it will gain 1/2"-1" in depth over the 11" circular coil.
The thing that the oval coil has going for it over the round one is the reach. I have hit countless targets just on the edge with that 13” one and I’m 99% sure I would have missed them with the 11”. I think the ground coverage far out ways the depth benefits of the 13” coil. Perfect for a quick reccy on a new permission 👍👍
Not done that video yet. I have the 9” coil however I hardly ever use it and from past testing it was nowhere near the 11”. The 9” has its place though like woodland or in amongst rough stubble. The two proper field coils are the 11 and 13” in my opinion. Thanks for commenting 👍
Hi, two months later, Enjoyed your video. Two months later, what would you say about the 13 inch coil? Looking to buy the coil and I'm very much interested in your opinion.
Honestly… I love it! Forget using it on stubble but short grass and rolled ploughed soil it is an absolute beast! I would certainly recommend purchasing it and I would happily tell you differently if I hated it. You won’t use it all the time but when you do it will impress you every time 👍
Thanks Richard. It was another fine example of “it happens when you’re least expecting it”. I’d have been happy just demonstrating the coils so the finds were a complete bonus 👍👍
@@OMA_MetalDetecting They say you get about 4 inches more coverage 2 inches on each side a great advantage in CLEAN ground I have all three coils all have advantages in different locations. Stay well...
