it's because the more he hits your door, the more power he takes, first few times he runs and hit your door you won't even notice your power going low, but after a few more hits, the power he takes increases
The first night is the exact definition of Those who know vs Those who don't know, because everyone who understands how the game works can tell how close he was to dying at the end there
