Xquisite X5 Walkthrough w/ Commentary in 4K 

Wiley: We just returned from a couple months in South Africa during which we visited the Xquisite factory after having been unimpressed with the Leopard customer service down in Cape Town. We toured the factory with Xquisite’s management and designer and did a crawl through hull 7. Your observations are quite accurate. The boat is extremely well made. The attention to detail comes through in places you will never see once the boat is commissioned. In general the fine workmanship, evident everywhere, really gets across the boat is semi-custom,e.g. not a production charter boat which have a different feel. Your comments about the limed oak brightening the interior are spot on as well. Although the targa (bat wing) design is a bit exotic looking for our taste it makes sense from a line management perspective. As a cruiser live-aboard, which is the design focus, you get a lot of boat for the money. Plus you get the feeling it’s going to be providing good service to its owners when other designs may prove troublesome. We’re seriously considering entering the production queue as we haven’t seen anything better. TSN

Just came across this Cat on another Vloggers post. This boat is the ultimate cruiser/live on and has so many features/equipment as standard which when added as options on similar size Cats it truly is well worth the money compared to others in its class. They also, as you mentioned, part custom build there boats and broker their own boats back when you want to sell. A 7* Cat with 7* thinking! Very impressed!

Love your walk-thru videos. Your passion for catamarans shows. The X5 upgrades they've made (starting with their 3rd build I think...) pushed this boat to our number 1. Again, great job!

Phenomenal boat!! Love the kitchen layout (the best cat kitchen layout), big frig & freezer together, love the seating area with well designed coffee table/eating table. BRAVO for that cleaver design, love the outside sink/storage. This is a boat that is actually really made for living on board. Love everything about it. The only thing I noticed is there seems to be no side windows to open for a hatch/cross breeze. Is this correct? This and the Prestige 50 are my favorite. I like the large open interior.Tons of storage for bikes, kayaks etc. Flat smooth sailing. Comfortable offshore passage making.. Excellent guest rooms. Easy sail control.. Fantastic entertaining capability. Built like a brick house..Really like it.. Thanks

The coolest feature on this boat is the controls for the electric winch at the pilots station are in the floor. Nice touch there.

Nice succinct walkthrough. It was our favorite boat when we did our walkthrough at the Fall Annapolis Sailboat show. We would love to be able to afford this boat. Just a weeee bit to expensive for our budget. But, it is nice to dream. :-)

I love this boat but the Majestic 530 is my pick. It is not as modern looking as this boat but it uses space much better, I like the hydraulic deck at the back and barbecue/ fish cleaning station at the back.

Lotto max please!? Saba seems bigger? But finish seems a lot better on this one. I guess that would be the advantage of having one size and design to concentrate on. The only thing that worries me would be the smaller trampolines, that may eliminate water slower in a nose dive? Great video as usual Wiley!

No offense but if to watch the builder, Tomas, go through the boat on “Cruising Off Duty’s “ video you’ll see so many more included features that makes this yacht cheap at 1.3 million. Hence The lotto boat.

As much as I love that boat, I don't think I could buy one that doesn't have a top level deck with helm controls and socialising area. That's the major sacrifice I can't make.

Is that a port hole with a wold map (in the main lounge area on the floor)? Can you see the ocean underneath that (it was only in the corner of the shots)?

What new cat can you buy for 350k??? Please don't recommend me to go for Persian ones!

If those below deck lines break, how do you rethread? Seems like a bad idea. On deck maybe a clumsy person trips on them but also they're accessible;easy to get to.

However well built this cat may be, the design is extreme enough that I wonder how universally popular it will be. To some it will appeal, while others might find it a bit garish

Nice boat but way out of the Range for my budget

I LOVE this BOAT, obviously VERY well thought out and engineered, great layout, hi-tech, love the redundancy, backups, etc... However, the Leopard is VERY nice and very reasonable priced Sailboat, they get WHOLESALE mass quotes on parts, resin, etc... and pass the discounts on to the buyer. A first time Boat Maker like Xquisite, they started in 2014, and this model is their first 50, will be more expensive because they are NEW and dont have the buying power or reputation like Lagoon or Leopard. The higher price covers their high wholesale costs as well as the other companies supplying them parts don't know them as well. Also, I am concerned about parts availability, and fixing issues, there are ALWAYS issues on a new model. Most Brokers don't recommend this boat yet as it's not a proven company, usually need to wait until the 10th hull and see how their supply chain works. I know they provide premier service and will come to you to fix the problems all over the world, but I would NEED to see that proven for a few years, sounds great, but buyer beware...Hopefully Leopard and Lagoon will look at this design and incorporate a similar layout in their boats. Maybe in 3-5 years this model will be down to 500K and reachable by a larger group of people.

Squeaky floors on a new hull-definitely a sign of a "better built boat". And the oak is way too much to my taste - looks corny, just like the frosted glass everywhere and the world map slapped on every surface for not having any better ideas.

Lime brush oak looks like cheap plywood.

What an ugly boat. They got the lines wrong, but I can see what they were trying to do. Should have looked racy and amazing but they missed. Great features though.
