If you accidently hit a button on the Beam after doing a reset it locks out the settings button. I pressed the down button on accident and had to do another reset to get this to work. Thanks for the tutorial! Plex works great!
This the whole reason for me to do this. Waiting on the USB C hub. Any tips? Or just add the app once I am at that point? Are you able to download a video and play without wifi?
Thanks so much for demonstrating all of what the XREAL Beam and the XREAL Air can do! I'm really wanting to take the plunge, but I'm hesitating until the Windows version of Nebula is released before I go all in. Hopefully that's soon!
A big thing that wasn't mentioned in this video - turn on ADB and USB Debugging in the Developer Options! This will allow you to hook your Beam up to your PC and manage it like any other Android device. A good safety measure in case XREAL ever tries to combat the current methods available.
Thanks for your help yes when you connect to the right hand side USB C it works. Unfortunately I did the firmware update out of the box and the firmware version is different to yours. I get an 8*31*** firmware version which shows 8 icons in stead of five when the bar is pulled down with no access to the settings cog. Any suggestions?
@@GiWizGLouis You should look for something called "Enable USB Debugging" on the device. ADB is what you'll use on your computer to interest with the device after USB debugging is enabled. Be sure to turn on Developer Options first by clicking the Build Number 7 times.
Do not enable "Don't keep activities"! With such option enabled you won't be able to go back from started application back to eva launcher by back button (other launchers are ok). So DON'T enable it! When developer settings will be disabled later, and you didn't enable ADB, then you won't be able to change this option anymore.
Mine went straight to update after i rebooted the device with the new keyboard and went through the setup process. This was directly after it autoconnected to wifi. Now its stuck on installing update.

How do I connect to a monitor (I’m still waiting on my glasses). I tried to connect it directly via usb-c to usb-c. I also tried to use a usb-c hub with a hdmi cable. Nothing worked.
can we connect iphone 14 pro with its charging cable(type c to lightning cable) directly to xreal air 2 ? can we install third party apps (via google play) in xreal beam ?

Yes, your sideloaded apps would still be present. I you want to utilize the body anchor, smooth follow and sideview view options, you would need to launch the Eva Launcher and would be forced to update when updates become available. If you don't need those modes you can simply stay in your new launcher.
Hello, I have a question about the downloaded apks, do they automatically update them selve. The version of the apk on aptoide tv is almost 2 years old. Thx, wish u all a happy new year.
Typically if you are in the Eva Launcher, the bluetooth mouse will move around the screen but not allow you to click on objects. You can use the mouse regularly once you've completed the installation of an alternative launcher.
HIiYes I did, I eventually got it to work by uninstalling and doing it all over again. Do you know how to log into youtube on the Aptiode TV, when you click on sign in its does nothing, no next screen comes up to actually sign in@@ErikHartley

Hi I have just goet my Xreal Beam and following a reset per the video I have connected a keyboard with a direct cable and two different hubs but the win+n does not pull down the settings menu, is this hack still working?
Are you connecting the keyboard on the right hand side where the glasses usually connect and viewing the output on a 1080p monitor? The keyboard wouldn't be recognized if connected on the left hand port where you would normally connect a wired connection to another device.

You cannot directly load Netflix and RU-vid but you can load alternatives like Smart RU-vid for TV and Newpipe to watch RU-vid and Kodi with a plug in to watch Netflix content. The spatial display modes will work if you open EvaLauncher from within the launcher that you sideload and many of the apps will still work within EvaLauncher.
Can you try to extract the EvaLauncher apk that’s included on the beam and upload it? Will be very interesting to try to install that launcher apk on a samsung phone for example and see if we can have the beam experience on it🤔
HELP! First thing is when I power on the device it brings me straight to a select language screen. Second is a have a bt mini keyboard and mouse with a 2.4g mode. Can I use it on the beam? Am I sol due to how the beam loads up? Please help me!¡!!
Bluetooth keyboards typically don't work for the jailbreak but that language screen means you haven't ever connected to the Internet with the Beam so you should be able to perform the jailbreak.

And saying wifi is not working my issue is it’s in Chinese and I don’t speak Chinese and I’m getting a error menu in Chinese when I’m trying to login I went to the store and a person that speaks Chinese said that it says wifi is not working. I’m using my phones hotspot and it’s still saying the same thing. So I want a hard factory reset manually with having to go to the settings cause I can’t get into it so I can atleast change it to English and go from there.
I'm not aware of a way to reset manually unless you connect a keyboard and mouse with a USB hub similar to the method in this video. Then you could pull down the settings menu and follow the steps in this video to change the underlying Android menus to English and then factory reset through the Android settings. You'd need a USB-C hub or Steam Deck Dock with an HDMI output and a 1080p monitor to connect the other end of the HDMI cable to. Those steps are a lot more complicated than just finding another way to connect to the WiFi, allow it to finish its setup and then click the settings cog on the main Beam menu and go to languages there and change to English.
It won’t let me finish the setup because it won’t allow me to get past the wifi part for some reason I’m getting a yellowish orange triangle error but it’s not in English to tell exactly what it’s saying but the password for the wifi is correct.
