Bit of a missed opportunity to demo the new features of the xrs location on the video. Would have been more useful to actually show what it actually looks like rather than sticking in some stock b roll footage of a farm. Just my 2 cents. Perhaps a new video would go a long way? I'm yet to see any demos of any of the xrs location feature anywhere on youtube. Perhaps a link if it exists? How come the "top of the line" xrs 390 seems to have features more inline with the xrs 330, no speaker on the main unit along with mb206 non magnetic clip. I can't wait to receive my new XRS 390 in the mail, I wish i could see the features actually in use.
Can you make the bluetooth connection on the older models automatic to the phones. For location tracking it is a pain to reconnect every time you leave the car to see something or take a picture with the phone.
Very excited for the backwards compatibility with the new handheld. When will the new handheld be available for sale? Will there also be a trade in offer for existing xrs 370c handhelds?
the only thing missing is dual aerial sockets for lazy people like me to change from 2Db to 6Db aerial - oricon have such a device inbuilt - brilliant initiative by oricon
Yes, I almost bought an Oricon because of that, but I think I'll just get an aerial splitter. It should work. I like supporting Australian businesses, and we should all buy Australian-made when we can.
Hi mate, the maps should work without data services. In both iOS and Android phones, any mapping app has the ability to track your location without needing an internet connection
As the unit has bluetooth connectivity, don't you guys at GME consider giving it the option to use bluetooth audio output, auto ducking, and the option to use any smartphone as an external handpiece for comms to the base unit? There'd be a plethora of applications, for e.g. someone doing the spotting out of the vehicle, or needing to communicate long range while out of the vehicle without having to sacrifice the benefit of the huge vehicle mounted antenna. There are heaps of problems in any industry using heavy machinery, where operators are in loud environments, need hearing protection, have long shifts and would love to integrate their own smartphone and entertainment without obstructing radio communication. Wouldn't you, as an Aussie company in the midst of a country powered by mining industry, like to present the products? With the brilliant, rugged hardware GME offers, why not go for more BEFORE some other company obliterates you by bringing fully combinable, scalable and flexible solutions to the market?
So the gps feature is really only usefull to a user if everyone has the 390c unit or atleast the upgraded mic? So the only difference between the 390 and 370 is the gps feature in the 390. Researching radios to purchase atm.
Considering this is the ‘premium option’, I don’t understand why it doesn’t come with a hand piece extension candle. Especially as the 330c has it as standard. Not sure it was worth the extra dollars when I then also have to spend more to get an extension cable. My mistake for not researching properly and assuming it would be in the kit.
Hi there, Thanks for your feedback. The XRS-390C doesn't come with one as it is designed for Agriculture and side-by-side use where an extension cable isn't necessary. We will be sure to pass this on to the team to look into though!
@@GMEaus cheers mate. I appreciate the reply. I was buying Australian regardless and when I looked up reviews the 390 was at the top so I bought two. One for my wife and one for me. The installer of hers was surprised there wasn’t an extension as well. Definitely worth reviewing. However, with your explanation it makes sense. Keep making awesome gear, I’ll buy your equipment and genuine accessories regardless. Also the window mount antennas are a genius idea for discreet use.
What antenna is best for a bullbar on a large wagon with this radio? I want a small whip for city driving and something for high country and desert trips. Thanks.
Hi there, best solution would be a radome antenna like the AE4704B for use in the city and high country. This has an interchangeable whip (AW4705B) that would suit open desert trips.
Can you tell me please the cost factor recommended price for the AE4704B +the Spring and cable for the xrs370c and XRS390c please. I’m having trouble to find it out . Before purchasing one off these I would like to know the total kit cost. Thanks in advance.
My xrs370c was accidentally cross polarity shorted for a split second. Instead of blowing the fuse it blew the radio. Heap of absolute garbage. Not to be relied on.
Bought this unit recently and had it installed, first unit was faulty, squelch would not turn off, replaced but still get noise coming thru and its damn well annoying. Sorry GME but its good money wasted in my opinion. Not sure if its bad design or what but I'm ready to ditch it n cut my loses..
Thanks for the feedback and sorry to hear that! If the issues are still persisting we would recommend contacting our tech support team on 1300463463 and they can assist in resolving this for you.
GPS... map... what map? one where? that tiny screen? Please SHOW us how this works - if it's just spewing out lat/lon numbers on that tiny screen, it's basically pointless. If it only shows location while the RX signal in coming in - also pointless (we need to see where they were after they stop transmitting, and we've got time to look at whatever screen this shows up on)
Thanks for your feedback Chris, the map in question would be from our XRS Location Services App that we have explained in more detail in a different video. feel free to head to our channel and check it out!
@@GMEausyour other videos say it sends the phone GPS - and only when your phone is running the app and you've told it to share your GPS... but this device says "with GPS" in the title - so does it, or does it not have GPS in it? Your gear is not cheap, and I'm trying to work out what device to buy. I can guarantee that for everyone like me with an unanswered question who takes the time to ask it, there's 100 others who don't ask and go buy something else that's got what they're looking for (easily explained and easy to find).
@@chrisdrake4692 appreciate the feedback! this model (XRS-390C) has the GPS built in which will allow its location data (either distance and heading or lat & long) to be shared to other XRS users without the need for a smart device being paired. However if you wish to see the location on a map then a smart device will need to be paired to the radio and the XRS Connect App will need to be running. Hope this helps!
Why is the fuse-holder so impossible to bloody open, on the 390C. I've lined up the arrows in opposing directions indicating thats where you pull it apart, but no, it's refusing to come apart. So bloody annoying.
Hi there, our fuse on the XRS-390C is harder to open to ensure it is waterproof, however it should still open relatively easily. If you are having issues please contact our tech support team on 1300463463 and they can assist! Also we have passed this feedback on to our team.
MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT ARIEL CONNECTION i bought the 390c .thinking that the connection was a normal screw on ,looked like that in picture of back of unit. But its different.Purchased AE 4705BTP DOH!!! needed AE 4704B AND AE4705B purchased at REPCO PORT MAC i asked if it was a screw on he said he thought so.
