Love watching your videos very helpfully to those of us that are mechanically challenged. I have a 1974 TX 650 I have just finished with a stock rebuild and have the motor mounted on a engine stand. I would like to run the motor on the stand using the starter and battery, just to be sure the build is ok before putting it in the frame. I’m not trying to tune it. I have wiring diagrams to help me but I’m not really comfortable that I can hook it all up correctly, don’t want to burn up any components. I was wondering if you had any experience doing that and could give any assistance. Thanks again for your videos you inspire us all. Gary
Thanks mate. It is nice to know that my videos are helpful. As far as running the engine on a stand goes it should be pretty simple. Just make sure the ignition circuit is correct as per your diagram, crank the starter with 12v direct from battery + and it should go. I may do a video on it in the future but it might be a bit late for you.
Beautiful bike! It sounds amazing, man. Curious what size jets you have in the carbs? I picked up an '81 a little while back and your video series has been super informative. Nice work and thanks for all the info ✌️
Looking great. Real shame you have to pull motor again. What is your opinion on the heat wrap on pipes? I've heard it holds moisture and directs more heat into heads which never a good thing in warmer climate. Here in Canada in summer even in my shop my bike can be dripping wet in morning from humidity in the air. Not sure if you have same issue down under 😀
@@2wheelworkshop If your interested you can check out my xs if you search 1976 xs650 cafe racer on youtube ...its the red one .This is my second xs650. Loved them since before high school. I would trade it for a triumph thruxton but plan to keep it till then . Cheers
