Hi my friend. I found a piece of history in a thrift store. I first thought it was a military foot trunk. But after I bought it, and was giving it a thorough exam, I realized it was a case for a munition. And as I was looking more closely, I discovered a small stencil that says Pearl Harbor. It's made out of red oak. The boards are an inch thick. It is assembled with wood screws. There were partitions that had been removed that may have held some kind of large shell. It's 14 inches square and 2 feet in length. As you can imagine, it's pretty beat up. There are cracks in the wood. One of the corners is banged and cracked. It's original color was dark military green. It was painted over hastily with a tan colored paint. I want to go, maybe, a combination restoration and some how preserve the stencil. As removing the paint, it's in bad shape, with a paint remover would spoil it's story. I really don't want to spoil it. Any suggestions? It's kind of like the wooden tool box you restored.
Wow that's a cool story Oswald. I would definitely try and keep the stencil. Are you able to send me a picture at all to my email. You will find the address back on my main page. I'll put my thinking cap on for you and see what ideas I can come up with.
Hi, I really like the style with which you make the videos...congratulations! Could you tell me the real difference between 20w and 40w? ...I'm deciding whether I should buy both. And if you got to test 1064 nm? Thank you
Hello Fabrizo, sorry for the late reply. Thank for the compliment.. I'm no expert by any means when it comes to lasers but I think it depends on what your going to use it for really. If your looking at this unit you can quickly change out the laser heads with different units so that makes this one very versatile. The 40w will cover any job I will need to use it for. I have the 1064nm on the way, so I will be playing around with that soon and hope to put out a video some time early in the new year. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Not sure if you check the link in the descriptions but xTools amazing Christmas sale finishes soon.
