XTRONS Headunit 6 Month Review - BMW E39 Apple Carplay Android Auto 

I bought one of these after seeing it in the 6k sports sedan series but unfortunately I didn't research it enough and didn't realise there were different variants that look the same but have different CPUs. So make sure you research before buying anything because the 4 core I got is too slow to run google maps. Agree with the lack of volume control and physical buttons in general. My idea form factor would be full height 16:9 screen with volume control and buttons either side for navigation. I think the DVD drive is unnecessary these days.

I have this exact unit, just the newest version and it worked for about a minute, but then bricked when I plugged in the canbus decoder plug. I hope I can fix it so I can avoid sending it back.

Hey guys like your shows. Just wanted to ask if there is an iBus style app for VW product? Seems like ibis just does BMW. Also have you checked out T’eyes head units before. Just curious how you landed on your current on. And I agree volume nob is a must. Maybe just for those born before 1990. 😊

I really like this unit which is packed with so many features but I'm wondering about sound quality. Did you had a chance to compare it with stock unit on the same speaker setup? Is the sound quality better? I really like to buy this unit but I'm afraid the sound quality will be worst comparing to stock unit.

Did you have the cd changer before in the trunk? Seems like a complicated install if you have that and the factory amp.

Which of the two you see in the video is better? I need it to have a connection for an amplifier, cd, usb and apple carplay

Wich CarPlay dongle you use? Wireless or with wired? I read so bad things about the wirelesscarplsy dongles.

I'm looking into doing this mod on my e46. I'm wondering what size radio that is? I'm looking at the dash kit to move the ac controls down, but in the descriptions it says 7in. It looks way bigger than a 7in to me.

Please tell me you do not sell xtrons to the old radio tape recorder?

my car has DSP, pretty sure your does too, is it true that the DSP is built in or do I need additional wiring to make that work?

Xtrons are very laggy- ive steered away from them and only work with AVIN units. The full 10” screen is MUCH MORE functional then the “oem looking” 7” screen. …

They are thieves after I paid them the amount now they do not answer my messages I lost my money please do not deal with them on the web all the numbers on the site do not work

I would consider that a downgrade.
