This is my favourite X song and here’s why The first verse represents X’s guilt for all the bad things he’s done, since one of the lyrics states “I’m killing everyone I love” and how he wants to go home since this was made during the #freex movement. X expresses his guilt by the quiet and relaxing beat until... The lyrics become a scream, full of pain and guilt and sorrow that he feels for the bad things he’s done. What expresses the rage he feels is the simple lyrics when he yells “HEY, YOU, HEY, YOU, YOU, WHAT, YOU, YOU, YOU” which represents his guilt for how when he is mad his mind turns off and he acts by instinct, not always making the best decisions. But through his music, he sought to embark in a life sobering process and publicly renounce his iniquity. However, it seems that young people are losing touch with the idea of process, and many permanently deemed him as unforgivable. X was someone trying to enrich the lives of others by publicly displaying his process. It was cathartic-not always pretty or attractive but a necessary form of therapy to reach a higher state of being. Personally, X helped me to validate much of my turmoil as being a piece of a greater journey.

I was a junior in highschool when I heard run up on me. it was around the time the song came out. and I found myself falling in love with how angry his music was. I dropped out my junior year because of issues with depression and anxiety. for the longest time he was my medicine. I listened to this dude almost every fucking day. all his music was good and all of it sounded different. in the 3 years he's been growing in popularity he did more for me as a person then anyone did. And I never even met the dude. I'm fucking heartbroken. Rest In Peace X. Thank you for having such a big impact on me and countless other peoples lives.
