Really. At first, as a big fam of Zhuge Liang, I thought this was a stupid anime trying to take advantage of his fame. But as soon as I watch the first 2 episodes.... I am wandering in front of the bathroom door.
To be honest, it strikes me rather more like 80's europop, if you ask me. Had to think immediately of "Modern Talking" and started listening to "cheri cheri lady" after that.
This show is FANTASTIC and the OP is such a good example of why. It's unique, hilarious and full of heart. This is already my anime of the season, completely unexpectedly!
i love how this mange is about Zhuge liang, a military strategist from the third century being "isekai'd" into the future, becoming the manager of a small yet talented singer, learning modern day economics and marketing, adapting his strategist mind into said disciplines to aid his singer to grow both as a person and as a talent, and being a bartender in his off-days. the concept is so dumb but i love it. like... If Cleopatra became a Vtuber's advisor and manager. that's so fun
This series so far has easily surpassed my expectations. It's definitely one of the more surprisingly good anime shows that have come out so far this year.
HIDIVE needs to market itself better. If OPs and EDs were uploaded sooner and more clips posted, it would definitely grow. Less than 10k subs to this channel is very low.
Honestly, they're small because their content is still all over the place. It's Sentai's in-house streaming service. They were content accepting that it was a failure competing against two other anime-only services but now that those consolidated, they're trying again. And, more importantly, they are licensing far fewer of the shows they make to Hulu, Netflix, and Crunchyroll. Presumably, they don't really care about what happens over the next couple years because they see their main value driver being what happens when they get all their content back.
This song has such an 80s sound, and I absolutely love it. Also, I hope all the music artists in this anime team up to form a Linkin Park style band. That'd be epic.

It's an exceedingly small detail compared to all the other stuff going on, but I appreciate how the group shots gradually feature more and more characters.
First episode and the OP grabbed hold and did not let go. Fantastic OP and a fantastic anime. The animation and writing were consistently wonderful for the whole 12 episodes and I loved the characters. The music was really good and the English in the singing didn't distract, it sounded good. They have a high target to aim for if they get a second season, and I'm so in the bag for it. 96/100 will watch again.
With the upcoming highlights movie for Ya Boy! Kongming.... I Expect a season 2 annoucement.... At the end of the movie. Because why else, would you make that complication movie, early next year.

I'm not really a city guy, but just watching this opening makes me want to visit Tokyo again! Hell, it even makes me want to check out a club or two and I usually hate loud places like that. That's the power of this OP!
This is probably the dumbest idea for a series I've heard in awhile and I must watch it. And not hate watch it. Like the idea sounds dumb but it looks great and I've heard nothing but praise for how genuinely good this is.
Oh it's so unironically good. Like, you click the first episode for the dumb premise, then Kongming is legit busting out the Thirty-Six Principles as stratagems for luring audiences away from popular bands and dropping Epic Rap Battles of History-level bars and you're so on board for the rest of the ride that it's physically impossible to stop watching.
It is honestly such a fun show, it isn't going to change your life via deep emotional scenarios, split your stomach from laughing, or even bring you to tears from the music. But it is a very enjoyable show, definitely has some flaws but it is way better than it has any right to be lol.
Is it weird that I hope to become famous enough for my name to endure the centuries until some mangaka or anime studio gets the bright idea to turn me into an anime girl?
I hope crunchyroll gets the licence for this in latam after hidive leaves our region. It would be a shame to see such an splendid show to be killed by disney or netflix
As a person who has studied Chinese History (pain in the ass to study btw), I need both bleach and more of this anime. I have never been more conflicted in my entire life.
96neko/Kuroneko (yes, the utaite with insane vocal range and a silky smooth voice) and kaede hondo are amazing as Eiko's singing and speaking voice (respectively).
Ok def into the story of these two, but . . . My mind instantly wanted to know more about the 3 that appear right before the end. Middle one instantly made my heart twang seeing her for whatever reason 😆
This show surprised me so much, I never expected such a insane premise to be so great! To everyone pondering, give this show a chance, it's really good.

Deeply frustrated that this is a HiDive exclusive. Between Netflix and Disney+ getting into the anime game it's becoming just as hard to watch good anime as it was pre-Crunchyroll
Words cannot describe how much I love this show. It made me fall in love with anime all over again. Everyone should give it a try if they haven't already.
