@@_abholen_ Hey man! We understand that Live15 might be more expensive than other controllers. Still, we are a small company that prefers to make long-lasting, high-quality products rather than searching to fill the market with more cheap-made obsolescent technology. That of course affects the price. Our design philosophy is present in the materials and components we choose, in the possibility to self-repair your controller instead of having to purchase a whole new one when something gets damaged, and more. We hope to be able to be part of your setup some day :D
@@_abholen_ honestly for as much as this controller has packed all into one 1600 is not ridiculous. Plus the wood housing , it’s a beautiful piece of gear
@@couchtrax Yeah absolutley! I did not want to say the price is too high for the value you get. The price is just too high for my budget :) But the idea of a controller in this price range is growing on me! :D
Came across via algorithm blessing, and wow, this is such an amazing device, pure love. I was thinking about producing a MIDI device, feeling the dissatisfaction with the options out there, and this one is like half of what I was thinking about. Amazing work, and the wood cases look great. Feature suggestion or idea for the future: you already have additional parameter control if you tap the second/3/4 encoder. However, I think it would be cool to have it work in this way: It's inspired by OP-Z's parameter control. Let's say you press the second encoder, and it moves you to the second "page" of parameter controls, and all four encoders now control different parameters. Not sure if you can change encoder colors on your device, but if you can, this would be even greater. For example: 1. White page - 4 parameters. Press the second encoder: 2. Yellow page - 4 more parameters. Press the second encoder: 3. Blue page - 4 more parameters. Press the second encoder: 4. Magenta page - 4 more parameters. Press the second encoder - wraps around to the white one. So, much more parameters, and you can jump between them more easily. And, as in the OP-Z case, if you have the colors consistent with how you map them - for example, White is Oscillator control, Yellow - Envelope, Blue - LFO, Magenta - effects sends - it will be easier to have this kind of map in your head. As a different approach: Press the second encoder - 4 additional parameters. Press the third encoder - another set of parameters. Press the fourth - more parameters. In this way, you don't need to loop parameter pages and can access them faster, but have only 3 pages. Hope I explained this correctly, but again - it looks amazing. I will purchase as soon as I am able to. Have a great day!
Not gonna lie, I think this is possibly my favorite Ableton Mixer product seen so far. Even at 16-1700$, I think I would take this over any Akai, Push, or Novation. I need to see customer reviews and demos. But it looks like it would be inspiring to use. What doesn't it have that you would need? And very good looking I must add.
V excited by this ! - A suggestion for mk2: add one or more LCD displays - eg for scribble strips etc and knob encoder labels and this thing becomes awesome. Love that someone is finally going for 16 tracks in one view/go instead of 8. In a MK2 - Displays would add cost for sure -but the minimisation of need to memorise and commit to muscle memory - specially in production stage - it would be worth the money for many i think
To put it in perspective: there are 20+48+16+208 = 292 controls, which means on average you pay $1600/292 = $5.5 per control. And there is the case/electronics/IO ports/software/R&D/marketing/... costs. So I do think the price is fair (given the quality checks out), but it is def a lot for a casual hobbyist like me. But I can imagine for (semi) professionals, it could be just the thing.
making it modular to add units would've been cool. ..I think 32 tracks side by side would be amazing ..it's the mixer more than anything ...power input round the back ..so two units can sit together without any gap.Nice piece of kit. Numerical input pad ?
Very impressive controller. I’ve gone in a different direction for my live set, but I could definitely see picking one of these up in the future. Awesome design!
Just a personal request since I haven't seen it anywhere but I'd love to see Turn used with a Push 2 to see how they work together. Your prodcuts are beautiful and Id love to purchase one but don't know how they compliment each other exactly
@@Yaeltex Maybe less but slightly bigger pads for fingers. And maybe a 2 way button to flick through the devices on each track to have control with the faders. I will buy one if you can make these options available for sure. Probably a lot of midi mapping editing needed to get that though.
Yeah that would be nice, we will add them to our framework in the future :) some brands are using touch strips but we don't really like them as volume faders. What do you think about touch strips?
No touch strips please. Motorized faders are only cool if they are really precise. Not shure i‘d need them. What would be great however is a 24 channel version with more sends and screens just above the faders. Also, what about grouping ? Interesting product though. I‘ll be following this.
Yep, that's what we feel too. Strips can be useful or expressive but not for something as precise as track volumes or automation. Maybe we end up adding both :P
I would like to try it with some unique and energetic music that could also demonstrate the full potential of this controller. I would like to help you put out a new demo of it, if you want to reach out.
ESTA MAQUINA ESTA GENIAL Y QUE MEJOR QUE SU MANUFACTURA SEA LATAM UNA GRAN FELICITACION A YAELTEX Y SUS DESAROLLADORES ES UNA PODEROSA MIXER!!! SALUDOS DESDE MEXICO
Let's say I'm using an ableton rack with all 16 macros. Does the control script allow to control them with the 16 encoders? In this video, I saw that you had to click one of the encoders to get to some of the other macros in one of the racks. Basically, I would love it if the encoders worked like the APC40 mk2 encoders (except in your case, there are more of them...I don't want to use banks, I only want the encoders to map automatically to the first rack in a channel). A visual 1:1 with what's on screen. I hope I explained that well enough. Thanks!
Cool looking build, quality looks high. But why have you made this vertically integrated rather than horizontally, reaching over the faders seems like it could be a bit awkward?
We've made other vertical-shaped models and they are great to use. Actually, vertical designs are trendy in many models designed by the community at The Factory. I would say that it depends on each one's work/play space and preference. A horizontal variant of this type of controller would be interesting to see! Maybe moving the top encoders to the side to keep the Ableton-like interface of clips on top of the mixer. If you want to sketch your own, you can do it at The Factory right away: factory.yaeltex.com Cheers
Are you using encoders or endless pots? The thing I loved about Akai APC 40mk2 was super smooth controls. Can it handle changing multiple encoders at the same time?
Can you easily program the left right switch that moves the channels to do blocks of 15? like section one is 1-15 and one click will take you to 16-31?
From a dj perspective I can tell you what would be great to have, on the cue side the cue master knob, browsing and ability to look up and load tracks from the browser menu not just move within a set, loop controls, the ability to load a track and set a loop anywhere at will and loop size control, half, double, move, those sends would be better of emulating eq controls, low, mid, high, infinite cut. Think of it of what djs already have and make it possible unless this device is solely designed for producers where there is much of the same already. Also, think of the possibilities of livestreaming a set and the ability to have microphone input that you can route away from the master like using a send and the ability to receive a live call and route it so the caller can be heard on the stream but not hear themselves back, no feedback just like you are able to do today using a pa mixer and routing the sends to be the audio stream and leaving the in call out of the send/audio stream. Maybe am asking for too much but I know it is possible and if you do am sure you will have a winning product at least from the dj perspective.
Those are all good ideas! Live15 is designed with live set artists in mind. We invite you to enter The Factory and sketch your dream DJ/live streaming controller right away. factory.yaeltex.com
just wow, I want one !! I wish I had the cash, do you take body parts instead of cash? I'm considering what I dont need limb-wise lol. Dont get me wrong worth every penny, money is just a little tight, ill just have to save up thats all.... :)
i never understood why all the main brands mostly go with a huge 8x8 grid of pads and then add next to no faders and knobs, instead theres just weird buttons for navigating the software 10, 20 or more buttons to do what you can just do with one mouse lol such a waste of space and possibilities. this is actually exactly what i was searching for
any chance padless version with motorized faders will be released for using it as an additional unit for mixing purposes? Don't see it as a main live performance controller, more like addition to Push
It looks amazing! I wonder how does this controller integrates with Native Instruments or other VST plugins. Do you have to map everything manually? thanks!
Neat idea! Looks like it would be useful, particularly in a live situation. Surprised there's no pan control on the mixer. Could you re-assign one of the sends to pan?
We developed the Yaeltex Universal Remote Script (YURS) to create customizable scripts for Ableton, and we used that same tool to develop the Ableton integration for the Live15. The next video will be about the YURS itself. You can check more info here forum.yaeltex.com/t/yurs-yaeltex-universal-remote-script-for-ableton-live/161 @@bo-bodad8253
Do You have a version without the clip Launcher section? I never use clips, I only work in arrangement view and this mixer would be an excellent addition for me without the clip launcher section.
I can’t imagine a universe where I would pay $1.6k for a controller. For this price I’d assume you’d at least have motorized faders and an audio interface… nope! You’re making Teenage Engineering look like they make reasonably priced gear!
this looks rad though is there any way to remap the encoders? I'd rather 8/16 encoders map automatically to whichever device is selected than defaulting to partial control of 4 devices. This and motorised faders would be an instant buy for me at this price point
Our modular hardware system is based in groups of 4 components, so we preferred to have 15+master rather than leaving the master separated. You can absolutely use it as a 16 track mixer too (with the master control somewhere else)
The colors of the clip-launch buttons don't match the clips onscreen? They should match. The color coding is how I know where I'm at with Push. This has no display, so you need that. I like the fact that it's big--16 channels wide is great, but with no display I need the colors. Does it take up just one control surface slot? That would be cool. I could replace three controllers with this. You know what would be bad-ass? If the 16 x 8 clip-launch area could also be a sequencer-control surface. I bet you're working on that with some max for live sequencers. Would the Live API allow for controlling midi clip piano-roll editing with this? If it could and it were well-implemented I would be forced to buy this. But I need the color coding or I can't use it. I hope you can color-code the LED rings on the encoders, too.
Hey! Auto color of the clips matching Ableton is already included and we will announce it soon, the video was shot before that :) We are definitely working in turning that grid into a big sequencer 🙃
@@Yaeltex That's good. Very compelling product. Is the whole thing under the control of a single control surface script? Does it just take up one of the six slots?
good morning :-) me again. So how do i recognize (pretty fast -during live set ) for example, wich lane is wich ? i used to set a colour on top ( pink for channel 8 in push controller) without colouring each clip pink in the whole channel. Having 15 channels can get quite confusing maybe ? So it would be easiest to switch all clips in same colour vertical i gues. ?
What would the challenge be to implement ribbon/touch faders in the future? I'd love to be able to swap out my Maschine Jam and Kontrol F1's for a custom yaeltex device to keep it in the same family of the TURN i'm customizing right now. Amazing work.
You can use the Novation Launchpad and Launch Control XL together for less than half the price. Downside is that you have to midi map the Launch Control differently when you have more than 8 tracks.
I haven’t checked , but from ur comment I’m getting a $7k vibe . Am I close, don’t answer that . I’ll know soon when I specifically don’t buy it. It’s nice and convenient looking, but I have ten things that do all that stuff and my music stilll sucks lol
