Yaesu FT-1000D classic high-end ham transceiver 

It reminds me of that radio that has everything you need and nothing you don't. I think the layout has to be one of the best ever made. Your radio looks like it just came out of the bag! Very nice.

I started in ham radio in 1995 with the yaesu ft990. Than about 10 years ago I purchased a ft1000d. Its a great radio and in perfect condition like yours

I have one of these radio's I bought it in 1994 direct from Yaesu I was a Commercial dealer and it has been in storage ever since. Excellent demonstration thank you for showing. the VFO shaft started binding up so I put it back in the box and went to work closing Kmart Sears Gotshocks and so on I did this for 25 years and never got around to taking it back to Yaesu. You have encouraged me to do so. Maybe in the next couple of week's I live in Phoenix and I will carry it to Los Angeles to Yaesu. A radio like this you do not ship. 73's WW5D Regards; Phil

Thank you so much as always for tuning around the bands at the end and letting us savor the way it handles signals. I had literature from this era of Yaesu and somehow I missed out on this model. I may have been blinded by the Icom IC 781 lol

Love mine and still is my go to radio...! It will put out 225 watts no problem, sometimes depending on antenna, it will crank out nearly 250 watts...

Incredible radio , you don't need an amplifier this radio has enough, I love the 1000d follow by the 990 very hard to get either in good condition at a reasonable price

Owned mine for 15 years or so, never had a fault with it. (I bought an FT990 the month before). Not perfect but very well built and plenty of interfacing possibilities.

biggest pain with 1000D: - 10Hz tuning step - No 1Hz tuning step Ruins the ability of generating spacial diversity audio by tuning the second receiver couple of hertz or so off freq (10Hz is too much - echo chamber ) while sending the audio from each receiver to separate stereo channel. -stereo audio (2 receivers) only available thru headphone jack - not rear speaker jack - Only 1 PL tone for 10m repeaters - Inability to set the sidetone freq higher than 700Hz ( I prefer 750 or 770) and that's about it everything else is top notch and BEST EVER incl notch in the agc loop and godlike cw audio peak filter. the current generation SDR crap can lick the boots of the 1000D

paid $650 for one on eBay back in 2016 , nice radio.

The sub receiver is very good when running two antennas and stereo headphones from the rear socket. Had mine for a very long time now, not madly keen to replace it though I do have quite a few HF rigs. Mine has all of the options, and the Inrad roofing filter, not entirely convinced that the advantage is huge.

Can you do digital like ft8 with this radio as it sits or do I need an Interface ?

Are you using two antennas on this when you are listening to both receivers?

Hello everyone. Is the Yaesu FT1000MP Mark-V/Yaesu FT1000MP considerable upgrade to this one? ( I'm not a radio amateur, i'm just looking for second hand transceivers to surprise my father who is.) Right now both radios are available to me at pretty much the same price - 1100 EUR ( I live in Germany) whereas Yaesu FT1000 or Yaesu FT990 is around 500 EUR. I realize this may not be the best place to ask these questions but i'm pretty lost about ham radios.
