The FT-710 is my choice because it won't be limited by hardware because, its 100% software defined. We are in the very early stages of SDR in amateur radio. I think this is excellent and the sky's the limit.

What's that hunk of junk you keep putting in front of the radio? Guess you could not make your own video so you used someone elses? Moving on......I have the FT-710 field and love it. I've used the fTDX-10 and it's also a nice radio. I found that for a dual purpose radio, that is......use it in the primary station and for portable use, the 710 is the best choice. For strictly the primary station, the FTDX-10 is hands down the better radio. Both radios firmware are close to one another. BUT, the 6 buttons on the hand mic for on the 710 can be reprogrammed. They can not be reprogrammed on the 10. I've reprogrammed four of the buttons on the mic on my 710 and found those buttons very useful. As for the display and using stylus ? Forget that. I use a mouse and rarely ever touch my display on my 710. The ability to use a mouse is great. Barry, KU3X
