I actually like that better than this up coming Alex Ilia fight. Alex is a bit past his prime. Skills, experience... no one is as good, over-all, as Alex; but Father Time has caught up to him. Most fans just don't know, as they want the past to stay forever. But, unlike Yair, I think Ilia will win... so I will have my ideal fight between the two peaking guys....the next generation.... likely by the end of 2024... That said, Yair better works on his BJJ, though. His striking is on a different level compared to Ilia's striking; but the Georgian Matador is elite in wrestling and BJJ...

Last time Yair injured Ortega's shoulder, so Yair will definitely put up a great fight on the ground aswell, but Ortega will put up a war in the standup, due to his wicked submission game. Like one mistake like Volk did, and Ortega grabs the neck. Very interesting fight, and I think Ortega will win by submission, after taking a big beating for a few rounds 😂

Dude, at least believe in yourself and have some faith even when you go against such GOAT like Volk. You had lost that Volk fight even before the fight, when you were like "I'll try my best, lets see what happens". You gotta be sure that you will win. Even Volk is like that. 10 days notice fight against Islam, Volk really believed he could still win. Yair has never shown that kind of mindset and that is why there are levels between him and Volk/Ilia. Dude just hated and was jealous of someone who had more balls and more confidence in himself and called Ilia delusional like a normal hater. From haters it is okay and understandable, but when you are a fighter, that's just embarrassing.

No digo que le alcance para ganar, pero si lo veo mejor que alex. I like this version of Yair ! Makes a point, how you going to get catapulted after one win with Emmett and then straight into a title match 😏 Really hope Volk destroys Ilia this Sat. But next weekend, the rematch with Yair & Ortega should be a memorable dog fight. I'm glad this rematch is happening, cuz it's rare that they run it back after a shitty injury occurs during a fight. Haven't seen Ortega in the octagon since then!

I think its really not talked about enough: That headbutt was the most significant factor to Yairs loss. He was actually doing great - he got taken down, but the momentum was coming up on his side, and then - boom. He was clearly rocked after that but carried on. A shame, really.

Volk's record isn't what I'm pointing out. We know he could lap his division, but it paved the way for a much easier road for Ilia. It's just about Ilia EARNING his shot like many ( not all ) do. Some guys go on UFC tears for years before even being considered for a title shot. Could have enjoyed many more Ilia fights from the aforementioned match ups. @@SrLulox Not sure who Volk would fight in meantime. Volk's domination fast tracked Ilia's path.

I dislike Topuria as well but Yair shouldn't be too salty here. He got his ass handed to him by TKZ until he landed that lucky elbow in the last second. Then he only beat Stephens and was inactive for 2 years. After that he was still top 5. He should be grateful the UFC granted him the top 5 spot despite evading Zabit until he finally retired.

I understand Yahir on the topic of Topuria marketing. But, who would Volka have to fight if not Topuria?... with Max? If he kicked his ass 3 times, or with Ortega, if he already beat him by withstanding a guillotine? Who is he going to fight, with someone ranked number 7 or 10 who doesn't deserve a title shot? , Volka wants to stay active, there is no other contender.
