Just came across this video, which was super helpful. Curious about something: does the fairing/wind shield under the LockNLoad help with the wind noise?
Good review! I also have a 2011 Tundra double-cab. Was wondering why did you not mount the platform directly to the tower to give it a lower profile? were you concerned about the weight of the platform and needed the crossbars for more stability? I was talking to our local sales rep and he advised me i could mount the platform directly onto the skyline towers if the towers were mounted on a track system as suppose to the tower door-clip style. If I was to put a roof-top tent on the platform maybe then i should use crossbars due to added weight? Would love to hear your input. thanks for providing this awesome review.
I was sent the Baseline Towers by Yakima and those can't mount directly to the platform. I don't have a channel system so I was stuck with this set-up using the crossbars. I can't comment on the weight limits of the Skyline Towers and your roof top tent. But I'll bet Yakima can answer those questions.
Would you trust the weight of a rooftop tent on that platform? I guess without seeing the mourning hardware in person is hard to tell if is rigid enough.
New sub here. Just found your channel. Great content brother. Question, what bed rack are you using? I see your able to use your bed cover with the bed rack. If I missed it in your video I apologize. I didn’t see a review in your video library. Thanks again
Are you still enjoying the locknload setup. I have a similar kbvoodoo rear rack and debating going with the locknload or going with a rhino rack which would require drilling into the roof. Any cons you could see with this setup over something "permanently" mounted on the truck?
I would avoid drilling through the roof at all cost. Owning an FJ as well, I see a lot of owners on the forums with pictures of wet, stained headliners from leaks created by the roof rack system.
Question, I already have an existing timberline/jetcore bar setup on my suburban with a Skybox cargo carrier. I am trying to add more surface area to strap additional gear on for camping and I am curious if the skybox would clamp to the lock n load bars? Or is it use one or the other not both at the same time?
