fave part about majimas breaker style is that he didn’t even watch someone fight. he saw two guys literally just breakdancing and was like Hm i can weaponize this
jackhammertwo1 well, Majima straight up wanted to bang Daigo when he made him dress up like a woman in Dead Souls during that one substory. Yeah, that whole game is non-canon, but that seemed pretty canon to me.
@@SonnyFRST Except Capo was designed to look like a dance to throw off Portugese slavers when it was invented iirc Breakdance is just a weird freestlye form of dancing.
KIRYU Seeing someone as old as Kamoji swinging punches with easy gave you inspiration to focus more on quick moves to distract your enemies. Seeing Miss Tatsu, a girl with a slender body destroying a beefier guy with extremely strong punches and heavy boxes gave you inspiration to use the urban environment to strike your enemies all unconscious with brutal punches. MAJIMA Seeing Fei Hu, a simple cook, easily defeating with his mastery of martial melee fighting a yakuza that had a fully edged sword gave you inspiration to use a different approach in fighting with melee weapons with precise swings and nice counters. Watching 2 different guys, one a quick breakdancers and a though guy dancing like they didn't feel the weight gvae you inspiration to take advantage of your slender body to defeat your enemies with hard to dodge kicks like capoeira. Fighting against a corrupt billionaire that has been destroying the town you love finally made you understand that, amongst all kamurocho people, you are *indeed a legend*, when using heavy kick drops to make your enemies submit, punching and slaps to make them go fully unconscious. Even if you were yakuza, they respect you like a leader, with the grace of a *DRAGON.* After defeating the last lord of the cabarets you finally release all the stress of coping with the pain of fighting for girls and a bar you see like a family in the most crazy way possible. No brakes, just pure madness with your prideful dagger, confusing your enemies with swift moves and finally giving them the gift of being spared, because if this wasn't for Majima self control, they wouldn't made it to tell that they fought and lost against a *MAD DOG.*
Kiryu: That's rad. I think I could incorporate this fighting style into my own fights. But if she could do it with a crate, maybe there's all kinds of objects I can use. Maybe a bicycle? Yeah, I think I can work with that. Majima: That's cool and all, but I bet that guy has never even THOUGHT about using his baseball bat like a pair of nunchaku! TIME TO MAKE HIM LOOK LIKE A MORON!
Kiryu: after being learning all these styles and perfecting them to the point where i can defeat the finance king i have created my own new one with many if the lessons ive learned from each. Majima: K N I F E.
Kiryu: that’s rad, maybe I can do that Majima: HOLY SHIT I GOTTA DO THAT Kiryu: Real Estate makes me fight better Majima: CABARET CLUBS MAKE ME WANT TO STAB PEOPLE
I love how with the other styles they watch someone use said fighting style and they decide: "Holy shit, that's rad! Im gonna fight like that!" But with the legend fighting style it just comes to them. They simply just thought about it.
From wha I understand from Kiryu's styles: - Brawler: His basic attacks - Rush: Learned how to properly use footworks and control his strength for speed - Beast: Learned how to throw his weight more and to use environments - Dragon: Learned to properly integrate kicks and throws into his combos
Dragon is all of his previous styles, being combined to a refined final form Brawler's basic beat em up hard mentallity, combined with rush's insane speed and dashes, while also integrating the massive strength of beast without compromise of its slowness. All of its good qualities- balanced out to become an unstoppable force of nature
It's the OST, the way I hear it was made to feel like something straight outta a martial-arts movie because of all the weaponry Majima would master when training with Fei Hu. (Sure, the style itself is about the bat, but it is the key to most of the cool weapons)
Kiryu is supposed to be a buff and tough guy, which is why his style concentrates more on sheer force and putting his full weight into slow punches Majima uses weapons a lot, and his character is a sly, quick one (notice how everyone calls him slim) and thats why his styles are mostly dependent on his flexibility and quickness, since he isnt nearly as strong and buff as Kiryu. That's why people find it easier to play as Kiryu, but find Majima to be more fun! (=^ w ^= )
Skintel N.Keychain Whenever I play as Kiryu I get gangbanged and knocked down all the time. Majima is a lot more fun for me because breaker style is amazing for grinding yen.
they also call him slim because majima is on the slimmer side. he is slender-waisted and in the sub story involving errand-kun, his "girlfriend" calls majima "stick man" referring to his skinny body.
@@beeruwu slugger is so OP that you don't even need to use more than 1 combo, which is lmb-lmb-lmb-rmb, or the bat nunchaku if you're a real yakuza and use a gamepad. Basically one combo is enough for an enemy. But I find war god talisman + rmb spam on mad dog after the combo, which can't be countered lul
How did you learn you signature fighting style? Decades of training? Traveling far away to discover yourself? A master who taught you his secrets? Kiryu: Real Estate.
I love how Y0 managed these reveals, up to every single detail. The way Kiryu realizes his pure potential, how he controls himself to remain calm and serious in battle in a powerful and legendary style, instead of depending in several styles at once. He doesn't need many techniques to fight, he needed to fight more and realize his own style is the true fighting experience How majima suddenly let's go of all that control, he slashes his limiter in half and let's his already messed up mind take control after many years of pain and torture, in this unique and erratic fighting style. Again, no need for major techniques he already learned, he needed to let go and be himself again
Style names: Kiryu: 1. Throwing hands 2. Dempsey roll 3. *M O N K E* 4. Throwing hands: Like a dragon Majima: 1. Bane of necks 2. Weaponised yoinky sploinky 3. Purification in progress 4. *KIRYU-CHAN!*
i just realized something. the 3 default styles are essentially "pillars" of kiryu and majima's legendary fighting styles brawler/thug: basic skills rush/breaker: speed & agility beast/slugger: strength (kiryu) and weapon proficiency (majima)
With the Dragon of dojima style you can see separate elements of brawler, rush and beast all in one style put with a certain amount of polish to it. Same goes for the mad dog style too. Yakuza 0 really is a fantastic game
its unfortunate that their teachers (except komaki) doesnt make any more appearance in the sequels. would be cool if kiryu were to met again with kamoji, ms tatsu and maybe bacchus (or at least his relative) in some sort of substory. sure that styles are thing of a past because it only lasted 2 games, but we can still see that kiryu retrains / merged all of his styles into his singular fighting style in kiwami 2. since kiwami 3 wont be a thing, the possibility are really slim...
Well boy do I got news for you *SPOILER WARNING* In the newest Yakuza game, Yakuza 7, the main character Ichiban gets into a boss fight with Kiryu, which, Kiryu shows he still knows all of his fighting styles as he uses them for different phases in the boss fight, Rush style for when he wants to beat you down, and beast style becoming an absolute tank. Showing that he never truly forgot where he came from.
I wish he got something in Yakuza 6 that had call-backs to them. Like maybe exclusive moves called the Essence of Bacchus'/Kamoji's/Miss Tatu's Revenge and they're refined versions of the Essence of Finishing Blows, Essence of Relentless Barrage, and Essence of Torment. Like refined as in even stronger and animations that show he's grown. Like, maybe for Bacchus' revenge, he could perform a roll to break his fall instead of landing on his back after the punch.
I went into Yakuza 0 blind of the series. And let me tell you, i fucking laughed so hard when Majima's breaker revalation happened. I thought i would have to fight some breakdancers. But i couldnt beat them so i joined them.
Majima's 3 styles, breaker, slugger, thug make up his Mad Dog style. Thug's dodge Breaker's kicks Slugger's weapons. I can't really tell about Kiryu's rush style. I can imagine Brawler, beast, but not Rush. However, I can say rush is much more refined, which could mean it's his refiner?
I think it works like this: Kiryu Brawler's stance + Rush's precision + Beast's power = Dragon of Dojima Majima Thug's evasive skill + Breaker's agility + Slugger's weapon-based style = Mad Dog of Shimano
I would say Dragon/Komaki style takes the dodging abilities from rush, and most of its heat actions are from Beast, Brawler is basically an unrefined core for the final version of Komaki Style
@@ProfesserLuigi I could be wrong but it sounds like he's saying "hirameita de" because of the Kansai dialect he puts on. Its like when he says "iku de" instead of "iku ze".
@@rivaraptor4277 well from what I understand the tokyo accent is the "standard" accent. So it would be comparing the standard American accent to another region's accent. Kansai dialect, I've heard, sounds a bit more friendly and has different slang terms.
I just noticed Miss Tatsu does Saejima’s Y5 fight intro animation. Going back to 0 after finally playing the other Yakuza games and spotting all the animations I remember is pretty cool.
Even though I started my Yakuza journey through 0 I can feel that the Legend style revelatons are just a whole love letter and a swan song to the long time fans of the franchise.
I remember first playing through majima cabaret, I didn’t expect to get a style at then end. But when he went into the revelation mode I literally started freaking out from joy man. I’ve played almost every yakuza game so the legend revelations were really fucking big to me.
I fucking love the Beast mode, the stance the heat actions, the grunting and the sheer explosive power it does, but nothing to compare to the fluid the combats are when right used.
I dunno. I think his Receive You remix was rather fitting for this revelation. Kiryu's was more heroic sounding while Majima's had a full on madman vibe. Plus Reign had more of a, "I'm about to kill every single one of you" type of vibe, and it wouldn't really fit in this situation since Majima just knocked out each of the bodyguards.
The one thing I like when it comes to their 4th fighting styles is that you can see they borrow and combine attacks from their 3 other styles, and I just found that very cool
kiryu dragon of dojima:im about to defeat everyone majima mad dog of shimano:WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Edit: I forgot that I wrote that comment and I fucking cringed
I always thought that the Beast style revelation was the most unique of them all, since the person originally performing the style is a woman. And I don't tend to associate high power low speed attacks with women in general.
I only now noticed, that Majima, while remembering Mad dog style, holds his knife in the right hand, but when he does the last pose, the knife is in the left hand
I will never forget the hype I felt when I watched majima unlocking mad dog for the first time after painfully enduring club sunshine for 2 straight days
