Yakuza 0 - English Intro | Reacting To Video Game Music! 

I forgot how fucking sick this song was

For a bit of context: Yakuza 0 takes place in 1987, during what would come to be known as the "bubble economy" for Japan (in fact, the original Japanese intro is called "Bubble" as a reference to this). It was a time of extraordinary wealth and excess, when seemingly anyone could become a millionaire overnight and crash into poverty the next day, all fueled by a massive real estate bubble that would pop shortly before the turn of the decade. The 90s would be a dark time for Japan, but the high of the 80s and the bubble economy (and the seedy underbelly that thrived just under its surface) is at the heart of Yakuza 0, and makes it a somewhat unique entry even among other Yakuza games. And this intro song, even though it's not the original, conveys that feeling extremely well.

This song is so good especially with the visuals of the intro. Makes this game so hype to watch or play.

The Japanese version uses Bubble by Shonan no Kaze iirc for opening but due to whatever reasons or licensing issues they had a new one for English/global version And damn did they just release this banger out of nowhere and with no title attached then left the fans amazed

This music gives you Adrenaline pump as well as makes you emotional and nostalgic vibes in some parts

I think largely due to the amount of guitar riffs, if I were to rank all the soundtracks I've heard over the last 10 years or so, Yakuza 0 would rank 2nd for me just behind FF7R, and FF7R has nostalgia on its side. Been loving your playthrough so far!

If you want to react to another Yakuza track either Receive You The Hyperactive from Like A Dragon or Outlaw's Lullaby from Yakuza Kiwami 2.

It isn't the newest game (it came out in 2015). However, it is a "newer" Yakuza (after the devs got better at their craft). Including only the "main" games, the release order is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 0, 6, 7, and 8 (with 8 releasing in 2024). That being said, 0 is a great place to start, and is usually where newcomers are told to start (which I agree with). It is worth noting that if you want to stick with the series after it, the next place to go is Kiwami, which is a remake of the first game, then Kiwami 2, which is a remake of the second. Also, starting in 2020, for series titles for the 7th entry onwards, "like a dragon" is the franchise title, since the Japanese title is 龍が如く which actually translates to that. The title "Yakuza" was an early 2000's localization decision which began to become awkward since the series has spinoffs which don't involve Yakuza.

This is one of those games where I'll switch it on and then let the intro loop a few times before playing, purely because I love the music that much

I get it when you said that you dont really want to play video game. Yakuza 0 though will be an epic cinematic drama experience and masterful story writing , voice acting. Sure it will stay with you after too. Cheers.

Its still a shame to me that the intro is synced to a song ("Bubble" by Shōnan no Kaze) but due to licensing issues they had to drop the song in localization. It was a cool song with very coarse vocals. This song is rad too but has a different vibe to it. I also don't think its even a released song on the OST. Its alot more noticeable the music isn't synced on the trailer where they replaced Bubble with this song. The trailer was too tightly edited around Bubble so it comes off awkward. The first time I started the game I was like whoa, how cool. After I played it a bit it's just goosebumps af with this song and intro visuals.

There are uncensor patches that are very simple to just drag & drop to overwrite. Each games mod can be found on Nexus Mods. They restore licensed music, slightly clearer cutscenes for one or two of them and dialogue that was censored or poorly translated (not much, just a few lines) There are also old Playstation versions of the mods, but some might be kinda lost out there on the net as some download links have gone offline.
