8:30 is the best QTE to me in the entire franchise, well choreographed and fast paced with a great music behind. And the conclusion of it is just fucking epic.
2:30 Failling this QTE results in your save being deleted, game erased from existence, your computer exploding and fall into bottomless abyss where you are tortured for enternity by playing Mahjong Lets appreciate what devilleon is doing for us
I actually failed this QTE because of how out of it i was, let's just say i won't be this careless next time, considering Kiryu personally injected 200L of energy drinks into my brain.
8:52 Awano can break a wall with his fists, but in climax battles, when Kiryu use his Rush Essence of Wall, Awano shutter his fist and wall remain intact. :)
@@ashikjaman1940 Who’s also being same dude who fought and won against Mountain God and freaking bears with bare-handed…. Saejima is truly something else. If Kiryu and Tanimura got Technique, Yagami and Akiyama and Majima got agility,Then , Kaito and Saejima got superhuman strength.
That wasn't exactly a Tiger Drop though, because at this point in the game Kiryu was yet to meet Komaki and learn stuff from him. But let's be honest, Kuze is one of those men who could legit take a tiger drop and stand his ground.
I always thought 7:52 would be the hardest qte before I played this, but when you get to it, your adrenaline is SPIKED because of how insanely drawn in this game makes you feel and that timer becomes so slow compared to how it looks in this video
It's probably because it actually was slower for you than it was in this video because as I recently realised that ingame difficulty actually changes the speed of qte and this guy was playing on legend so it was way faster for him
Some of the faster QTEs are so badass that I didn't even mind failing them. I got fucking wrecked by Kashiwagi's lightning-fast punch and I was just like "Shit...you right."
10:17 Just a little detail that slipped by me on my playthrough, but I love how Shibusawa grabs Kiryu's leg to mess up his balance stop the throw that probably would've ended the fight. I don't know if that translates to wrestling as a practical way to end a grab like that, but it's such a dynamic way to end a throw that would've worked on just about anyone else.
Probably the most brutal one was Kiryu and Kuze's final thrashing. Kuze, for the first time, glimpses into a would-be dragon as Kiryu just straight no-sells his strongest punch. Kiryu just took it and still stood like solid rock.
@@aerodynamo4874 Maybe, otherwise I'm a noob :p I mean he beat me three times and in all my attempts I couldn't pull it out. Even devilleon in this video barely got it right.
I got this on my first try, probably because I played Shenmue 3 before. There all QTEs are like that (except they exist solely to make you toss your controller out the window). But there is no shame in failing at this. It's like 0,5 seconds to press a button. Average human reaction time is 0,25 seconds to a visual stimulus. So you need 0,25 seconds to realize there is a button to press and then the remaining 0,25 to process which one it should be.
First attempt at Kuze Fight #5 and I went into it with zero health after just having died in the arena in Sotenbori and forgot about my healthbar at the time. Had managed to avoid being hit until this QTE and he actually killed me with the punch he sends after “What’s wrong, Kiryu?”. Even in terms of game mechanics Kuze was mentoring me aha
I honestly love how quite a lot of the bosses compliment you during a fight/ after a successful QTE. Kashiwagi saying "nice dodge" despite trying to beat the shit out of you, or Lao Gui actually praising your skill after you catch his hand before it gouges your eye out proves that even the toughest Yakuza or most monstrous hitmen have a sense of sportsmanship
Holy shit this is the greatest video ever. These action qte scenes, the way they look, the moved that are used, the different martial arts styles portrayed, the camera movement, the music, all that stuff. These are some A-Grade action scenes, it just looks fucking incredible in this game of the series in particular.
0:00 I remember this fight, I’ve had Yakuza 0 for about 2 weeks now. My dad played with me and I was struggling with the fight, my dad helped, we had to keep taking turns. Dirty bastard snuck up behind me...
I think I'm not the only one who noticed this but In the QTE on the final fight between Kiryu and Kuze, that final punch Kiryu lands on Kuze has the same animation as the final punch of the QTE in Kiryu and Nishiki's final fight in Kiwami 1 8:42 _Epic detail I see._
After playing Kiwami 1, I realize I took all these amazing quick time events for granted. You actually get to get payback in these, but in Kiwami 1 the quicktime events are just for avoiding attacks
The direction in these qtes is just insane. The use of time remapping and camera animation. Top notch stuff. I think Y0 has the best heat actions when it comes to animation
I just noticed that the same song that plays when Majima fights Nishki in Yakuza 0 also plays when Kiryu fights him in Kiwami, it's called "For Who's Sake"
Actually the one here is called "for buddy" and its a dub step remix of "for whose sake" . Its named "for buddy" as he knows who he's fighting for in this fight for his buddy kiryu but in kiwami he doesn't know who he's fighting for anymore therefore the name "for whose sake" nishiki's themes shows his state of mind in the story which is pretty neat if you ask me
