Aww Matt sweetie! You are barley scratching the surface of the PTX christmas phoenomena. One thing they've been known for through their decade of music is their christmas stuff. This one has a lot in common with their cover of Sugar Plum Fairy, which won them their second Grammy. And it just keeps getting better and better. I envy you the pleasure that lies in store for you!

I think you can say “I was not expecting this” about pretty much EVERY PTX song! And there are many deserved but not awarded Grammies among their catalog!

They did win a Grammy for Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, I believe it's on the same album as this one. Definitely need to react to that one. I've already started listening to their Christmas cds.

Hello Matts Reacts. Pentatonix does it again. A Capella at its very best. Great vocals, excellent arrangement, creative videography. All five of them are always superb, individually and in harmony - listen to Kevin on that fast beat-boxing, Avi on those deep notes, Scott so raspy, Kirstie so sharp and wow Mitch with those smooth angelic vocals and that astounding high note up in the stratosphere. I thought that you were going to pause during the build up and I am so glad that you did not - after that high note your reaction made be laugh. Your fish OK? Surprised that Mitch did not shatter the glass of their tank. PTX is just the best ever !!!. You have so much more to do of the PTx Christmas repertoire - keep going. Agree with you --- this should have won an award. What level are they on? The highest level of excellence. May I recommend that you react to PTX version of Waltz of the Flowers? There is a beautiful Christmas song called "evergreen" from the album of the same name. I love it because it is very simple and has a beautiful massage. And I also think it's an original. But it's so underrated I rarely saw someone react to it. But I just realized I can't find the video anywhere!!! If you are doing PTX Christmas now, I suggest you think of the Christmas song you are the most tired of hearing during the holidays, see if PTX has done a version and I bet they'll make you like it again. For a couple of songs that are not too Christmasy, I suggest "Sweater Weather" (The Neighborhood) and "Coldest Winter" (Kanye; do the live version from A Not So Silent Night)

It does NO good to tell you to prepare for shock and awe with every song. No matter how prepared you are to be blown away...they will still get you EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. All you can do is buckle up, pad the walls, cover the floor with cushions, keep smelling salts within reach and tissues for all the drool. Then you might be prepared...but don't count on it. (also, invest in a thesaurus and your favorite alcoholic beverage...much toasting will ensue)

This is my all-time favorite Christmas song of theirs. I always prefer traditional carols to the more syrupy, winter-wonderland types, and the spin they put on this one is so, so creative--the way they gave it a creepy, haunted-house vibe, the way they went full-on Cossack at the end--it became a completely different song in their hands.

I was feeling a little down because of some issues I am haveing and was thinking I should just call it a night and just go to bed, but I was scrooling over utube and saw your post and I love Penatonx so I started listening and I heard youi say a couple realy kind things and than I heard you say you loved us. I could not explain how that made me feel except just hearing someone say that to me at the right time I probley needed to hear it was God sent from you to me.
