Not a full on fan of $b$, but this mixtape is lighting my ears up. Sounds like a combination of older memphis stuff mixed with central/eastern European beats from 25 years ago. The pitch change on their voices is a positive for me.

The way I've always thought about the 89-90 collection is that it fits the 'cruising/walking' feeling type of soundtrack.. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but it's all legitimately toned down as far as overall volume as well.. like your listening to it through a blanket to some degree. Its pretty clear that the pitch chagnes were to emulate a lot of the vocal tones those memphis dudes had, It was a ot of dudes with higher snappier voices and flows or some dude with a really low voice. Same with the analouge effects on tpo of them its all to be as authentic to the sound as possible.

I am a die hard G59 fan for almost 10 years now. DO NOT grade a $uicideBoy$ track after a first listen you’ll miss too much. I listened to the tape 15 minutes after it dropped, like many other times I was unimpressed. I replayed the album and its been on loop since. If you don’t like how G59 evolves then please carry on.
