Thank You Sooo Much for doing this video!! I have a 2019 90hp Yamaha VMax and after watching your video you gave me the courage to change my water impeller. I woulda never in a million years attempted to do this without first seeing your video. Thank You Again from one Fla guy to another.
Wow... I've never worked on my Yamaha outboard, but after watching this I think I'd be pretty confident... Might bring in a buddy that knows what they are doing for the water pump though!! ahahah
Thank you so much. Not going to pay a shop for these services as I can do everything here! Just never have done the water pump/impellar service before! Looks easy though! I’ve got a 90 SHO!
Very good video!!! Easy to understand. I have a Yamaha 150 it should be very similar. You just saved me 500$ labor at the dealership!!! Thanks I have the confidence now to do it myself.
This video was fantastic. Ive done all this work, except the water impeller. I will be following your video step by step to do the water impeller for the first time myself. I agree with the rest of the comments too......no fluff, no BS, just informative straight to the point directions. So refreshing. Thanks again!
Thanks, excellent video on full service of a Yamaha 115. Picking mine up next week hopefully on my new 2022 Polar Kraft 190. I'm certain I'll br able to do this. I really like how easy the lower unit comes down. Thank you!
Excellent video. As others have said, no fluff, silly music and all that jazz. Just great step by step detail. The video and audio is also great. Many times the audio on these 'how-to' videos really sucks. I'm getting a yamaha SHO next week. After watching this video, I'll feel less intimidated when it comes to doing my own maintenance.
Only 2 boat motors I've owned was a 1947 evenrude 5hp and a 79 Johnson 2hp... 😂 we did discuss if we could pull the 440 out of the 1970 roadrunner & put it on a jonboat but we waited till we sobered up & here we are... 😂👍
Just did the water pump thanks for the great tutorial! I would love to see a thermostat as its in a different location than the regular 115 non-sho and no one has a video on the 115hp sho...
Great video with very detailed step by step instructions. Thanks! Also, do you have any videos on troubleshooting or replacing the fuel pump on a vf155?
What no checking the gap on the plug's? That is one thing allot of people forget to do every year is to check and replace the lower unit oil and replace the water pump impeller. Great video Jon!!
I just repowered my 21' CC. Went from a Yamaha 150 Two Stroke to a Yamaha 175 VMax SHO. Replaced the old wire steering and put on a new Sea Star hydraulic steering and Linco Electric Trim Tabs. Engine currently has 45 minutes on it, so I have to break it in for 10 hours. If you ever get up to Southeastern North Carolina around the Sunset Beach area, let's go fishing and tell lies about the one that go away.
About the same upgrades I made to our boat. We have done a lot of redfishing in the Topsail area. We are from NC originally. Same to you…if you make it South ..hit us up
@@SWCFLORIDA Will do. I just checked the 10 day forecast and there's a lot of liquid sunshine over the next few days. Only two or three days when its not a high probability of rain. Of course, rain is only part of the struggle, the wind also has to be right as you well know. May as well stay home if the wind is blowing 15 to 20 mph. But April is just around the corner and the flowers, bees, and butterflies are on the way as well as 70 degree days and 4 MPH wind.
Надо было брать VF150 шо в макс, затем перепрошить эбу с программой от ф200, либо заменить эбу на эбу от ф200. Получил бы 200 лошадей с налогом на 150. А так у тебя сейчас 185. Привет из России!
Forgot to ask! When you tighten the 6 bolts on the lower unit (the ones visible), do those have a specified torque and do you just tighten enough like an oil drain bolt? Just prepping to do mine!
Also have to ask- do you drain your oil each time or have you ever extracted it? There’s so many folks to tell me to not touch my drain bolt (I’ve done 3 change so far) and said overtime no matter how careful you are with torquing, it’ll eventually strip. I know manual says you can do either or, but torn on how to go about it in the future and if I have to worry. Thanks!
I have never vaccumed one out ..I know it’s done a lot though…My years wrenching on many different boats I have never run into a stripped oil bolt. Sure it happens. As long as your getting all the oil out it should be fine. In my opinion
Appreciate you watching . It’s a great motor. We run a 3 blade Solas SS. 3451-139-19. It jumps up on plane with a great top end.. Check out some of our other videos. Hope that helps
I'm installing a Yamaha hour meter in this very engine. The plug wires are obviously different than what I'm used to, and they seem to all be tied into one bundle. I'm assuming I wrap the meter lead wire around the single bundle? Any help appreciated. Thanks!
@@SWCFLORIDA I just changed my oil and motor is a year old, manufacturer has two or three different suggestions out so I was curious as to your method. My old bass boat (yes I use to bass fish a lot) I changed by impeller every other year and lower unit oil every year. But that was by my own thinking lol
I have the same motor with low hours. Is the low sounding knock normal coming from the motor in idle? I know the ticking sound is normal due to the injectors. Was just curious because I noticed yours sounds a lot like mine which makes me feel better about it now.
Sorry but I have to ask. When you unscrewed the gas filter assembly and replaced the fuel filter, why didn't you dump the contents of the fuel filter assembly ?? There would be crap that was filtered and still in there and the o-ring ?? Wouldn't you put a new one??
Sho stands for Super high output. Supposed to fill the 125 gap. We love this motor. Very smooth running and hauls butt. We get 52 mph out of our boat. Thanks for watching
What prop are you running on your motor? My boat is in the shop right now getting a new 115 SHO. I have a Ranger R72 and I will have to figure out what the best prop is. Would you have any recommendations?
Thanks for comment and watching. I run a Solas 3 blade SS. 3451-139-19. It’s jumps our boat up in shallow water with the quickness. Maybe that’s a place to start. Enjoy your new motor
Also id like to add the video was great. Right to what we’re doing, how to, quantities and tips with no bullshit talking where we have to skip around all over. Thank you
