I also have an integrated Yamaha A-S701 amplifier, I bought it three years ago, but I also bought a Yamaha CD-S700 CD Player and a Yamaha NP-S303 network player two years ago. and i am very happy with the amp i also took the Worfedale Diamond 12.2 speakers, and it sounds fine there is as much bass as needed and the mid frequencies are satisfactory and the high frequencies are ok.
Nice. I bought a Yamaha A-700 amp back in 1982, it finally quit 2 years ago. I could have had it repaired, but it was time to retire it, donated it to a local vintage audio repair guy and replaced it with a new A-S1200. Yamaha builds quality stuff, my old amp served me well, so I stayed with the brand. This 701/801 have similar power specs to my old amp, actually more than my new 1200. No doubt this amp is similar, it won't shy away from low impedance loads, and it will rock your socks off with the right speakers and source material. Leave the amp on 24/7. Yamahas need "break in" and they sound better when warm. My old amp lasted almost 40 years, it was powered on most of it's life. My new 1200 model really smoothed out after being powered on for a month, it is just fantastic now 2 years down the road, with an amazing soundstage. To be honest, my 1200 runs out of juice sooner and it is not as chest thumpingly powerful as my old A700 was at truly stupid high volume levels (well over 100 DB), but the 1200 has a far more refined sound than my almost 40 year old A700 (I hope so right?!) and it's imaging is unreal. That is what one pays for with the 1200 and higher models. Enjoy your new Yamaha!
I have never left the amp for 24/7 🤪 l have the as1100 and the as 2100 different story different categories different things now l will post my new amp soon 🔜 u can subscriber or just visit my channel to see the beast (amp)
how much did they cost in the 80's im curious? because i just paid $528 for one online which is a good deal but still seems pricey to me! im sure hoping it ends up being better than any other 70/80's receiver i could have bought at a pawn shop or thrift store for $20 lol currently using a NAD amplifier i paid $10 for at goodwill lol
@@user-uk4ns4pd2z Bought my A700 used but only about 6 months old at the time in 1983 if memory serves for $500. It was an expensive purchase, as $500 was real money for a college student in 1983!
I have the AS-700. Im astonished by the power. I use transmission line speakers (highly recommended) which brings a lot of bass to the combination and ribbon tweeters for the piano sounds. Lots of fun. It also has a subwoover connection. Try it.
Yamaha starting to get really serious with the amp quality. I guess this is because the cassette and cd era is over and people have access to good sources. So the companies are hopefully figuring out that the consumers will appreciate real amps.
Great amp, real deep powerful bass, detailed mids and sweet highs, requires a good source though. Would have reached high end level if they had used a toroidal transformator.
Great amp. I have the R-N803 which is the Network (Wifi, Bluetooth) and Technology version of the A-S701 (Essentially.. Some changes). Yamaha is no joke.
@@tomaszmaslowski4974 The 803 is essentially the network streaming and music cast version of something like an AS701. So it has built in Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, etc plus Bluetooth, Airplay, DLNA WiFi. If you already have a standalone streamer or you don't need the network features, then you can get the dedicated integrated amplifier As701. Oh, the 803 also has built in high quality internet radio.
Which one will be more piwerfull ? I have only listen music from spotify through optical cable from smart tv .. so i think as701 will be good for me .. what do you think ? Thank you for your reply 😀
@@tomaszmaslowski4974 I think they have very similar power rating so in your particular situation, yes, I think the 701 may be your best option since you don't need all of those additional Network features.
I am in doubt about either the A-S701 new or a used Denon PMA-1510AE. Will be mostly used for Vynil, any comments on the phono stage? I have a pair or Dali Zensor 5 and a Pro-ject turntable without pre-amp.
@@dawaniali I see wireworld helicon but listen very much for audioqest cable rocet 11 rocket 22 type 4 old model type 5 new. Thanks i like very much your video with yamaha.good sound.
My friend you do know that the speakers placement in the middle of the room is wrong. Also putting them just 1 meter apart from each other is also wrong killing the soundstage. Better placement of speakers will simply make you a far better listening with same gear
@@dawaniali Yes the price is very big than 801.Maube 801 can drive focal or must to go with as 1200?Read review for as 801 and see that is good amp.Of course series as 1100 as 1200 maybe is better 22kg capacitors 4 x 18000 than as 801 2x12000 12kg.
Suena fenomenal es el amplificador que voy a comprar este año Tuve el Yamaha AX 400 de 65 w y fabuloso Compré y. Reciver Yamaha y fatal sin graves ni bajos No vuelvo a comer ese error
