@@PAGmusic my understanding, from the Reface specs, is that the Reface YC uses AWM samples for the organ flutes, so better than traditional sampling but not as sophisticated as a full model. This is said to have that same engine.

Get a used CP73. I love mine. No drawbars. But great instrument. Very classy look, too.

Lovely sounds from o low priced keyboard, but I wonder if they are truly from the keyboard inbuilt speakers only ??

If they'd do a 73 keys semi weighted action, the ever-complaining customer: hey, why don't you do a 73 keys full weighted version? Why don't you do a reversed color keyboard? Why don't... etcetera.

I already sold MX61. I loved the lightweight but quality of output sound when connecting to large speakers was 😅.

The CK has the same organ engine as Reface YC. Not the same level as YC but still good. No FM engine. Many of the sampled sounds come form CP and YC. It has a selection of the same Pianos, Wr and Rd samples, but not all of them. Outputs are not the same levels as YC and the chassi is plastic. On the other hand it has more sounds, bluetooth, built- speakers and runs on battery. Very light weight. I would say it is very value for money.

@@user-kp2ul7sea The MODX has thin tones without heat, but you can edit them, it is suitable for production in home studios and in bands that use many tones and layers, ideal for pop bands, dance and electronica. The CK line proposes to be a stage piano for those who use timbres such as pianos, EPs and organs. The sounds are warm and ready, called rang. Suitable for acoustic, jazz, smooth jazz, fusion, latin jazz, bossa, worship and gospel bands.

This is a stage piano/stage keyboard. It has more focus on Piano, EP, Organ etc. Direct control on the panel with knobs for the effects etc. This is more to be seen as the little brothers of YC-series. Montage is an advanced synth. It has 10 times more sounds, much more possibiltes of deep programming and advanced synth functions, 8 operator FM Engine. Higher level of keys, alumnimum chassi and higher level of outputs. Hope it helps.

@@dirkkeersmaekers4343 probably not by yourself, but there might be expansions in new firmware updates. Although I wouldn’t know what other voices you’re missing with this many voices already. There’s a full data list in the manual on their website, in case you’re curious about the types of voices included in the CK. If I compare it to the YC and CP series, this board has all the bread and butter sounds already installed, while the YC and CP are still missing a lot of voices (in my honest opinion). Just like the YC and CP, on the CK you are able to save your own presets (live sets) consisting of up to 3 splits/layers. And then there’s Soundmondo, an iOS and PC social platform app where users can save and share their live sets.

@@GestattenWinnetou CFX i still the main piano. The CF3 is just an option that Yamaha took back by request by all the CP300 user. It is still widely used in piano bars etc with an analog pad behind. S700 and U1 are also in CK.

My Yamaha YC 88 has the CF3. Not sure what the problem is 😂

its the same same GHS but they tweaked it for the CK88 , its tighter than the MODX88,much better , ive played them both side by side

@@angusbabb4913 If that is true, they better should give it a different name. Something like GHS2, GHS+ or GHSbetternow ;-) But perhaps you have been testing a new one and one after months of use...

@@pianistjustforfun maybe yes , you could be right ,i guess you have to try it for yourself , but both Nord and korg have a history of tweaking their established keybeds without mentioning it ...i suppose the issue is having played the NW-GS its hard to go back to a GHS , so i hear your pain

@@angusbabb4913 I agree, the NW-GH is much better, but it plays too heavy. If i compare my Yamaha C3 grand piano with my CP4 (NW-GH) there are worlds in between. The C3 action plays much lighter.

I wouldn't go that far and say it died. The Nord is a beast. And so is this one in its respective category.

I think you are very wrong here. PSR is something totally different. This is not a keyboard, it is a stage piano/stage keyboard. Emulated organ with drawbars. Sound levels is not far from the top pianos and plenty of knobs and direct control.

@@PAGmusic How many of these are already on the basis of AWM2 from Yamaha? Yamaha doesn't do anything new, they've been simplifying all their tools to SSR levels for over 20 years. My comment corresponds to the realities of our days. In addition, Yamaha already has an YC model. If you are attentive, then pay attention to the fact that in the YC model there is everything the same + FM synthesis. Therefore, I wrote everything correctly and did not make mistakes. The next Yamaha model is always worse than all the previous ones. If Yamaha improved Montage, made a good firmware update 4.0 , it would be the most correct. Everything else is emptiness.

@@js-sound It think you miss the point. You claim it is just another PSR wihtout display and knobs. This is not a portable keyboard with auto accompaignment. Its a stage keyboard. It focus on Pianos, Rhodes, Wurlizers that comes directly from the top models but also have a lot of bread and butter sounds. This is nowhere to be found in PSR models. There are knobs for every important function right on the panel. You have a dedicated organ with drawbars. The instrument is for live use. Talking about sound engines - an analog synth has been using the same technology since the 70s. FM since the 80s and sampling since the 90s. It serves different purposes. Sampling is still the best technology available for many instruments. All the most popular software pianos, drums and strings are sample based. Yamaha has one of the most acclaimed sample technologies which has developed over time. Samples get bigger and more delicate for each model and combined with VCM modeled effects it is definitely not that same as when it was first developed.

@@PAGmusic I try not to get into debates with allies of Yamaha Music. All Yamaha advertisers advertise successful Yamaha sales. You misunderstood me again. The YС lineup predated this particular СK model. And what will be the next step of Yamaha, I predicted and expressed it in my own words in the upper comment. The future of Yamaha Music is budget self-playing games like PSR, Yamaha has always had such models, in the future there will be more of them. And technologies need to be developed, including AWM2, there is nothing new after the EX5 synthesizer in subsequent Yamaha models. Yamaha releases a minimalist lineup. I can take the flagship Montage and write 100,000 minuses that it has today. All other manufacturers of musical synthesizers and instruments from Japan keep up with the times. I can give you an example: Korg, Roland, Akai to the list of successful ones. Yamaha is a wheelchair user with no voice in the world of electronic musical instruments. But I was their loyal customer and I had many instruments before from Yamaha Music. Now I can imagine my life without absolutely all the new products from Yamaha. I use the old AN1X and it makes me happy every day. But AN1X was made in those years when Yamaha still had the right policy. If new Roland Fantom had as many memory locations for user presets as in Montage (5192), I would sell Montage right away and buy a Fantom. You were not born yesterday. You, just like me, can find information about Yamaha on the net, you can read the desires of people on the Yamaha "Idea Scale" forums. IdeaScale is Yamaha's black hole. People write about what Yamaha should do, about what people want, but Yamaha doesn't listen to anyone, they have their policy of silence and leave all requests unanswered for many years.
